Sportsmanship
Congratulations to Kerry Wiegand (G16A Singles, G16B Doubles) of San Antonio for winning the Nancy Jeffet Sportsmanship award, and to Caroline Turner (G16A Singles G16A Doubles), of Dallas for being selected to receive the ATC Girls' Sportsmanship Award. Kerry and Caroline both showed outstanding sportsmanship on and off the court, with regard to their attitude toward their own game, their opponents, interaction with other players off the court and to tournament staff and officials. Kerry and her partner, Delaney Schroeder (Abilene), won the G16B Doubles, and Caroline and her partner, Elaina Muller (Dallas), won the G16A Doubles. Caroline also won the Silver medal in G16A. Congratulations Kerry and Caroline!
Congratulations to Aaron Chaffee (B18A Singles, B18A Doubles) of Frisco for winning the Clarence Mabry Sportsmanship award, and to Frederik Strabo (B16C Singles, B16C Red Doubles) of Austin for being selected to receive the ATC Boys' Sportsmanship Award. Aaron and Frederik showed great personality on and off the court, they were interactive with other players off the court, and they were respectful with tournament staff. Aaron was a Semi-Finalist in both B18A Singles and Doubles (partner Charlie Shin, Austin), and Frederik won the B16C Singles and B16C Red Doubles (partner Rob Steinwedell, Austin). Congratulations to Aaron and Frederik!

Match Check-in
- Players must check in with the site directors at scheduled first-match sites 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled match times.
- Players do NOT need to come to Arlington Tennis Center before they play their first match unless they are scheduled to play their first match at ATC. Site directors will have player gifts at match sites for first round
- There is no grace period for lateness. Do not be late!
- When players check in for their first match, they should give the site director a cell phone number at which they can be reached during the tournament (e.g., parent).
- Remember, players must check themselves in for matches (not parents, coaches, etc.).

Participant Consent Form
Print and complete the USTA Texas Participant Consent Form, and bring it with you to your first match! This signed form is required, and you must turn it in to the site director before you can participate in the tournament. For minors, the form must be signed by a parent or guardian. Warm-up/Practice Courts
- Warm-up courts will NOT be available at match locations once matches begin each day.
- Courts will not be open at sites before 7:30 AM each day.
- Never assume that because a court is free momentarily that it is available for you to warm up.

Format
- Format for B&G 16-18s Main Draw Singles is best of three regular, tie-break sets, regular scoring, in the main draw.
- Consolation is regular scoring and uses 10-point tie-breaks in lieu of third set.
- First Match Loser Consolation is required for Singles.
- Formats for B&G 16-18s Doubles are 8-game prosets, regular scoring, with a regular set tie-break at eight-all.
- Doubles are Single Elimination.
- Formats (and schedule) may be adjusted by the Referee due to the heat index or rain delays. However, a decision may not be made prior to the tournament.

Schedule of Play
- Singles will begin Saturday morning, not before 8:00 AM.
- Singles will continue through Monday for draws of 32 or 64. Smaller singles draws may be completed on Sunday.
- Main draw in singles will have two rounds scheduled Saturday, and consolation will have one round Saturday.
- Due to the heat expected during this tournament, consolation will play no more than two rounds per day. That schedule means that consolation will follow the same schedule as the main draw. For draws of 32, the consolation finals will also be played on Monday. For draws of 64, both the consolation semi-finals and finals will be played on Monday.
- Note: The Referee may elect to have both Main draw and Consolation play 10-pt tie-breaks in lieu of third set on Saturday and Sunday if the heat index is an issue. A decision may not be made prior to the tournament.
- Doubles will begin Saturday evening and continue through Sunday, if necessary.
- Doubles may have up to two rounds played Saturday and Sunday (if needed).
- All Doubles will conclude on Sunday.

Withdrawing
- WITHDRAWALS AFTER THE DEADLINE MUST BE MADE IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO ATC@ARLINGTONTX.GOV, with a valid reason specified.
- Include name, age division and draw (e.g., A, B, C) and indicate if the withdrawal is for Singles, Doubles or both.
- Players may withdraw from Singles or Doubles only, and still play in the other event. However, players must be very clear in the email communication that they are withdrawing from Singles, Doubles, or both.
- Withdrawals will be reflected on-line through 12:00pm on Friday, August 13.
- LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE. We will attempt to contact opponents, but we may not be able to do so in every situation, particularly regarding withdrawals Friday afternoon or early Saturday.

- August SCMZ Only: Players will receive no penalty points for withdrawing from this SCMZ because of the National Championship.

USTA Membership Required
- Before you enter the tournament, PLEASE CHECK YOUR USTA Membership Information. Your USTA membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff.
- Junior players should also enter email addresses for each tournament entered, as tournament directors no longer have access to junior players' email or phone numbers unless the information is listed for a specific tournament. It is very important that you include email and cell phone information.

Eligibility
- This tournament is for qualified Texas Super Championship resident junior players and approved out-of-section players ONLY.
- Out-of-Section applications must be submitted to the Section office 2 weeks prior to the entry deadline.
- Approved out-of-section players must register for the tournament before entry deadline.
- To be eligible to play in this event, players must be qualified in the appropriate age and gender divisions in Super Championship junior tennis in Texas.
- Super Championship players may play up in Super Championship major zones.
- Players must compete in the same age division in Singles and Doubles.
- Players may compete in only one Singles and one Doubles event.
- In Doubles, at least one member of each Doubles team must be qualified in Super Championship (and be age eligible).
- ZAT and Championship players may not play in Super Championship major zones.
- Players may register for only one SCMZ each month.

Entering the Tournament
- This tournament accepts on-line registration only. No mailed, faxed, phoned, in person or emailed entries will be accepted.
- The fee for this tournament is a $45 flat fee. Separate fees are not charged for Singles and Doubles. TennisLink will charge an additional, non-refundable administrative fee of approximately $3 per event.
- Players will receive a confirmation at the end of their on-line registration process.
- All issues with on-line registration should be directed to linkteam@usta.com.

- The Competitor list may be updated if players are removed from the tournament (e.g., ineligible).
- If you withdraw before the deadline, your name should be removed from the Applicants list. If you withdraw before the deadline, and your name is still on the Applicants list, contact LinkTeam@usta.com.
- If you withdraw after the deadline (and before draws are completed), your name WILL STILL APPEAR on the Applicants list. We cannot remove your name from the Applicants list after the deadline. Check-In
- Players should plan to arrive at their first match site 15-30 minutes before the match is scheduled to begin so that they will have time to pick up their tournament gift and provide the site director with cell numbers.
- Players must check in with their site director before each match. Players should plan to check in for their second round and later matches at least 15 minutes in advance.
- Players do not need to check in at ATC unless they play at that location. Tournament gifts will be available at each site.

Doubles
- Players MUST SPECIFY a partner when registering for Doubles.
- Once the deadline passes, players whose partners did not register (or who are not eligible) may be removed from the tournament.
- Before the deadline and before registering for Doubles, confirm your partner is playing, that he/she is eligible, and that he/she is playing with you, not someone else. Just because you list someone as your partner and you enter his/her USTA number, that does not mean they have registered with you as their partner.
- Remember that your partner must be playing in the same age division in Singles and Doubles.
- If your partner withdraws, substitutions are allowed. However, confirm the person has agreed to play with you, and be advised that all substitutions in doubles must be approved by the USTA Texas Section. Substitution requests must be submitted no later than regular business hours on Wednesday, August 11, to allow the Competitive Department time to review and approve substitutions.

- All officials for our tournament are USTA certified.
- Each site will have at least one USTA roving umpire.
- The Referee will be stationed at the headquarters, Arlington Tennis Center.
- The Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.

The Tournament Committee for this event includes the Referee, Cathy Kennan, the Tournament Director, Sheryl Osborn, ATC Head Tennis Professional, Lance Helm, ATC Assistant Manager, Lisa Williams, and ATC Tennis Professinal, Lisa Osborn. The Tournament Appeals Committee includes all of these individuals except the Referee.

The official tournament balls are Penn Championship Yellow Extra Duty. A new can of balls will be distributed for each match and for split sets (if playing a full third set).

Advance Planning
- Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).
- Cell Phones: Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or in the Tournament room. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Dress Code: We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens. Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well. Players who do not dress appropriately will be asked to adjust their attire.
- Pets: Pets are prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts.
- Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building & inside the fenced areas around the courts.
- Spectators: We welcome spectators for this event! However, spectators are not allowed on court at any time.
- Videotaping/Photography: Personal videotaping and photography is not allowed at any site, except parents/guardians who are videotaping their own child from a non-distracting position off court. The umpire may direct the videotaping or photography to stop if it is determined by the official as interfering or distracting to either player.
- Water-ATC: Water coolers are not placed on courts at Arlington Tennis Center. However, a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio. Players and guests are also welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop, and players may bring their own water jugs on court.
