5th Annual Bent Tree Indoor Doubles Classic (Non-Sanctioned)

Hi All - The tourament is up and posted and I wanted to let you know that those who are playing the ROUND ROBIN DIVISONS - Women's 2.5 Women's 3.0 Women's 4.0-4.5 Men's 3.0-3.5 and Open Mixed - PLEASE READ ALL ROUND TIMES. Some of the Rounds do not go in order and so times won't conincide in a logical order - so please read all your times to make sure you know when all your match times are scheduled - especially your first match of the event. Players from all across the state haved played in previous tournaments and I certainly appreciate all the interest in the tournament up to this point. SPECIAL FORMAT NOTES: The major changes in our format is that draws will be merged so that they will be larger plus we will use a feedin consolation (FIC as listed above by the divisions) - where possible. Players have requested to play in a doubles format where the format is not "one loss and you're out" and also to have larger draws. I am excited about the feedin consolation, which I think is much better than just first round consolation because consolation will be much stronger since teams will feed back into consolation even if they have won matches. This feedin system makes it an advantage to merge draws since the draws will have more stronger players, but you aren't out if you happen to draw a very strong player first round. If you want good competitive tennis, then this tournament is for you. The goal is to assure more and closer matches for all players. I would like to merge draws to the point where winners of the main draw have about 4 matches and winners of the consolation have 5 or 6 matches. With this format 75% of the players will have 3 or more matches. Come and play. Tell your friends. This will be fun and competitive.

Everyone is invited - even if you don't play in the tournament, drop by and say "Hi" to all your tennis friends.

All draws will be posted on the internet by Tuesday, January 13th by 9pm. Draws may be combined if less than four entries are received.

Thursday (1/15) - 6pm-12pm Friday (1/16) - 5pm-12pm Saturday (1/17) - 8am-12pm Sunday (1/18) - 8am-12pm and Monday (1/19) - 6pm - 12pm

Play will possibly be scheduled for Monday, January 19th (if necessary) as it is Martin Luther King Holiday. I know some will have to work while others will have the day off - every attempt will be made to finish the tournament on Sunday. If we need to use Monday, I will try and be flexible for those that work.
