I have rescheduled the finals Saturday for indoor play at Eccles.
If it is good air quality, we can play outdoors, but we are scheduled for indoor play.
Please review your draw to see your adjusted time.
We will play 2 out of 3 sets with tiebreak for the 3rd for the Finals for all divisions.

Due to the poor air quality, we are moving all matches indoors for tonight. All players should look at their new match time and location
For all ADULT Divisions - play has been moved indoors for tonight.
All MAIN DRAW matches will be at Eccles -playing 2 out of 3 with tiebreak for 3rd set
All CONSOLATION matches will be at Sports Mall playing an 8 game pro-set, tiebreak at 8-8.
This is for tonight only we hope. I will evaluate the smoke forecast for tomorrow.
Please communicate with your doubles partners to make sure they know where to play.
All players should be fine on not being double-booked.
Think of it as a winter tournament tonight - maybe we will do smores instead of popsicles!

Players should be on-site and ready to play AT LEAST 15 minutes before their scheduled match time. In order to keep a tournament this large on schedule, we cannot have players arriving late. PENALTIES BEGIN AT 1 MINUTE PAST YOUR SCHEDULED START TIME. We enforce this rule equally at every site. We REALLY do not like giving out penalties, so please don't put us in this position. LEAVE YOUR HOUSE WITH TONS OF EXTRA TIME!!!

Matches will be played at 4 locations for this tournament:


Eccles (ECCLE): at 550 Guardsman Way on the University of Utah campus.Tournament desk is set up outdoors.
Liberty Park (LIBPK): Entrance for the tennis is at the 900 South, 600 East entrance
Sports Mall (SPML): 5445 S 900 E. We will set up the tournament desk outdoors - so walk through the building.
Salt Lake Tennis & Health: (SLTC) 2471 S 1700 E

The JUNIORS will begin at 8:00am on Monday, August 2 and finish on Friday, August 6.


The ADULT SINGLES AND SAME GENDER DOUBLES will begin Monday evening and end Saturday, August 7. Adults start play at 5:00pm each night.


MIXED DOUBLES ONLY: Will have one round of play mid-day on Saturday, July 31. Then will continue Monday - Saturday evenings.

For all Adult Divisions and Junior Singles - this tournament is a First Round Losers Consolation. This means that if you lose the first match that you actually play (not a bye round), you will move into the consolation draw. Sometimes the first match in the consolation draw that is scheduled will turn into a BYE due to the outcome of results in the main draw. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE FOR YOUR FIRST MATCH CONSOLATION DRAW without double-checking to see if that match has turned into a bye after we entered results from the main draw. I am happy to explain this to you if you need help. In addition, players that cannot play their first match in the main draw will be withdrawn from the tournament. This is to allow their opponent to not have that walkover count as their first match win which might proclude them from getting to actually play two matches in the tournament.

We are super excited to host the tournament this year BIGGER THAN EVER! Eccles Tennis Center will be hosting the majority of the matches again, along with Sports Mall and Liberty Park. We could not pull off this huge event without our community partners! Players will be allowed to enter 2 events this year.

In addition to the tennis tournament, we are also offering a pickleball tournament the week before the tennis tournament. Go to pickleballtournaments.com and search Of Love to find this new fun event!

I will do my best to avoid a night of play for you for your first round if I am able. If you are playing in two events, please do not ask for any avoidances as it is too difficult to do this with consolation draws. Please email me at llambert@utahtennis.com to let me know of any avoidances you need. I need to receive this information by Wednesday, July, 21.

The Adult Draws with the exception of the Open Draws, will all be First Match Losers Consolation. This guarantees each player at least two matches. Main draw matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring with full 3rd set. Consolation draw will play tiebreak for 3rd set.
The Junior Singles ages 12-18 will be 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring with tiebreak for the 3rd set. First match losers consolation guarantees at least 2 matches per player.
Junior Doubles will be 8 game pro-set regular scoring. Single Elimination.
Open Divisions will play 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring with full 3rd set. Single Elimination.

This tournament will use umpires for the Finals day only - Friday for Juniors and Saturday for Adults.

Seeding will be done off of the National Standings list that was the current list published as of 8:00pm on July 21.

We are happy to offer PRIZE MONEY for the Men's and Women's Open Divisions. Payouts will be based on the following criteria:
*Any division to receive money must have at least 5 competitors.
*Singles Winners (Men & Women) - $700, Finalist $350. Based on draw of 16. Pro-rated if between 5-15 players.
*Doubles Winning Team: - $1000. Finalists $500 per team. Based on draw of 8 teams. Pro-rated for 5-7 teams.
*Mixed Doubles Winners: $800. Finalists $400. Based on 8 or more teams. Pro-rated for 5-7 teams.

10 & Unders will play in a short format tournament that counts toward their PlayTracker points. Here is the link to register for this event:
