New Tournament at Spring Valley Country Club
Spring Valley Country Club is excited to host its first ever mixed doubles tournament, the SVCC Fall Mixer, the weekend of November 13-15th, 2020. This event is a fundraiser for the tennis program and all proceeds will go to improving the tennis facility and its grounds. This tournament will include a lot of fun activities and the tennis committee is hopeful that all players and their families will want to be around throughout the whole weekend.
Each team in the tournament will be guaranteed a minimum of two matches. The highlights of this event are each player will receive a gift for playing in the tournament, awards will be given to all division winners, a cookout will happen on Saturday night and will include an exhibition with players on both the USC men's and women's teams.
To help raise money for the tennis program there will be a silent auction that will have many different items for people to bid on. Here are some of the items: • Two beach weekends at Myrtle Beach • One year membership to the JCC (Jewish Community Center) • One year usage of the ball machine at SVCC • Many other cool items.
Bottled water will be provided to all players throughout the event. During the cookout Saturday night, family members, friends, and others in the community will be able to purchase a meal from the club and enjoy the tennis from the Gamecocks players. There will also be a special offer to join SVCC for those that might have interest. The Club has a one year promotional rate that is a very good deal and during the weekend, this deal will be even better as it will include an extra month of membership and a one year usage of the ball machine.
Our tennis committee is hard at work to put this event on and we hope you will want to come and participate in it. Please contact Brian Clark if you have any questions, need help registering for this tournament, or need help in finding a partner.
