Welcome Girls & Boys 14 and Under Level 4 players!
Welcome to the USTA Level 4 Intermountain BG 14 at Rocky Mountain Tennis Center! (Normally ITA Summer Masters)
We are excited to be hosting this wonderful sectional event again this year, and looking forward to welcoming players from around the section to come play the event at RMTC, especially in light of the historic times we are all living through. Our first priority is the health safety of all players coming to play and their families as regards the currently increasing pandemic. Therefore, everyone associated with the tournament will be required to closely follow the health safety protocols that we will have in place for the duration of the event in order to ensure full participation. We are delighted to be able to offer compass draws for singles and first match consolation for doubles. This means that we'll have most of our players around together for the full weekend, which necessitates all of us working together to keep each other safe and healthy by following the protocols that I am posting below shortly and sending out by email.
That aside, I wish all players the very best of luck throughout the weekend with your matches. I'd like to ask all players and parents alike to please help us create the best possible atmosphere of sportsmanship, kindness, and community as we reopen sectional junior tournament tennis here in Colorado! We've always maintained at RMTC that each player will play their best and have the best experience if all players and parents work together to support more of an Olympic spirit of togetherness in competition. With everything going on in the world this year, please let's all keep that in mind as we come together here in Boulder for this wonderful competitive opportunity for our amazing Intermountain juniors!
Best of luck to all players! Welcome back to sectional tournament tennis in Colorado! Welcome to the 2020 ITA Level 4 - Summer Masters!
All the best, Coach K

A message from USTAColorado
Play at your own risk.
Throughout this pandemic, USTA Colorado has provided links and updates to
members and member organizations re: USTA National ‘recommendations’ for
facilities and players related to COVID-19. These USTA national materials
stress the importance that everyone adhere to State and Local regulations and
guidelines – as these take precedence and must be followed. As such,
tennis facility representatives are making decisions (based on their respective
local regulations) and these may vary from one site or jurisdiction to
another. Please be aware of and abide by those decisions and policies;
and be respectful of other players’ safety concerns. As with all public
activity, there is an assumption of risk that each player takes on when
choosing to participate. Obviously, if you are not feeling well or are
experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, or if you are concerned with your
own health during the pandemic, please do not participate until such time
as you are healthy and feel more comfortable.

ITA Level 4 - Summer Masters COVID-19 GUIDELINES
October 9-12, 2020 Dear ITA Level 4 Summer Masters Parents and Players, Welcome to Rocky Mountain Tennis Center for what we hope will be a wonderful event for all! Out of concern for the safety of all our tennis players and their family members, as well as RMTC staff, we will be following strict guidelines for participation in this year's ITA Level 4 Summer Masters based on health-safety guidelines and recommendations created by the USTA and local, state, and national health departments. We want to thank all of you who have come to play this event, and we ask that you all help us by following these simple guidelines above carefully and to make this a great event for everyone! This is the first sectional tournament in Colorado since the start of the pandemic, and it should be a model of our tennis community coming back together in only the most positively supportive way, rich in the tradition of sportsmanship from players and family members. Please understand that we at RMTC are completely committed to keeping our tennis players safe as our first priority, and we still recognize that we may be forced to close the facility in the future should any player or staff test positive for Covid-19 after visiting RMTC, or if minimum safety guidelines are not being met. We ask that you all do your part to keep everyone safe and eliminate the threat of spread of the virus. Please understand that anyone who is not prepared to follow these guidelines will not be permitted to participate in the event. All that said, especially after these past months of being permitted to play tennis and run programs at RMTC, we hold with our belief that the sport of tennis that we all love provides inherent safe distances of play as long as we all do our part to keep each other safe. All the best, RMTC Management 303.449.5033 RMTennisCenter.com 5430KidsTennis.Org
ITA Level 4 - Summer Masters COVID-19 Guidelines Health Safety Guidelines & Parameters
- All players must follow all current Health Department guidelines when playing at RMTC. - Do not come to RMTC if you are sick, experiencing any symptoms of illness, tested positive for Covid-19, or have had exposure to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 2 weeks. - All players and guests must observe social distancing guidelines maintaining a minimum 6-10 foot distance from others. When parking, please keep one space distance between cars when possible. - ALL ITA LEVEL 4 TENNIS PLAYERS & SUPPORTERS (FAMILY MEMBER, COACHES, ETC.) ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS OR FACIAL COVERING ON RMTC GROUNDS TO REDUCE RISK OF CORONAVIRUS SPREAD! Players may remove masks when starting to play. (We ask that players have one readily available when playing if the need should arise.) Spectators are required to wear masks at all times! - All tournament participants and their family members must be screened prior to participation. - Only 2 spectators per player will be permitted inside the RMTC "Covid bubble." (This is the obviously fenced in area on both sides of the Boulder Creek.) Additional spectators are welcome around the outside of the tennis fences, but tournament spectators must wear masks at all times! - Players and their spectators coming into the RMTC "bubble" must be screened prior to entry. (Scan for temps, possibly for blood-oxygen saturation, screening questions.) Anyone showing symptoms outside normal ranges will not be permitted to enter. Players showing symptoms will not be permitted to play. - All players must sanitize their hands (and preferably wipe down equipment) prior to play and encouraged to do so regularly while at and upon leaving the club. Please bring your own hand sanitizer even though we will have sanitizer available on each court. - Avoid touching common surfaces.
Use of Facilities - Bathrooms are available at the RMTC, however, we ask that you use the spray provided to sanitize any touched surfaces after each use. No wiping necessary. - The RMTC Pro Shop is open only for walk-up service behind the pro shop at the desk window for purchasing equipment, racquet stringing, or to speak with pro shop staff. We will wipe down any purchased items or serviced racquets prior to handing them to customers. - RMTC has removed tables and chairs. Please bring your own chair & umbrella for on court rest or off-court viewing. - We ask that you minimize socializing at the club before and after play. USTA recommends no social gatherings on the premises. However, due to the fact that all players will have multiple matches each day, players and family members are permitted to find their own area on the grounds of the Millennium Hotel to rest and wait for their matches. (The area beside the RMTC pro shop should only be used for off court viewing of courts 9&10, use of RMTC restrooms, and to access the pro shop walk up window service. Please no social gathering around the pro shop.) We ask that family groups please keep a minimum of 6 feet social/physical distance from other family groups while on the hotel and club grounds.
Here are the Basics!
Before you come to RMTC: - Bathrooms are available but contacted surfaces need to be sprayed after use. Please use the rest room before you come to tennis and after you depart! - Come dressed for play! Changing room facilities are not available. - Items to bring with you: - Mask, Gloves, sanitizer, Full Water Bottle, towel, sunscreen, camp chair type for rest periods and umbrella for shade ARRIVING and Playing at RMTC: - Girls will be on the south side of the Boulder Creek, the pro shop side of RMTC (RMTCS). Boys will be on the north side of the Boulder Creek, the Millennium Hotel side (RMTCN). Parents should park accordingly as it will be inconvenient to walk from one side of the creek to the other. - PLEASE sanitize your hands once you arrive in the parking lot, and put your mask on! - Please use gloves, towel, or your elbow when opening gates to avoid creating common touch surfaces. - YOU MUST enter the gate attached to your court reservation. No walking across other courts except for those playing on court 11, who should enter on either gate on court 10. - Maintain the 6 feet rule at all times while playing! Changeovers should be on opposite sides of the net. - Doubles partners will share one can of balls, but should sanitize hands prior to each service game. Singles players should only serve using their own can of balls. - Players should avoid handling opponents tennis balls. Opponents' balls should be sent to them with your racquet or by a well-placed "soccer kick!" - Masks must be readily available or around neck for quick pull up (You should not cover your mouth/nose during play!) -Spectators should watch behind or directly beside your player’s court. This is necessary to reduce gatherings in small areas. Leaving RMTC: - Take all your items home with you including disposable mask/gloves etc (nothing in the trash) - Sadly… no socializing or hanging out after play…players must avoid gatherings. Families should "spread out" on the Millennium Hotel grounds and maintain minimum 6' social distancing. - Please sanitize before you get back in your car to protect yourself and family.

Scoring Format
All main draw singles matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring. All consolation matches will be 2 sets regular scoring with a 10 point tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set. Doubles will be 8 game pro sets for main draw and consolation. (YES! WE ARE HOLDING CONSOLATION FOR DOUBLES SO OUR PLAYERS WILL GET MORE MATCHES!)
We will be using Pro Penn Marathon Extra-Duty Felt High Altitude balls for the entirety of the tournament. Players may not share balls and will be given one can of balls per two matches. (Players will use their own balls on their service games. Balls that are too worn out will be replaced by new balls.) All balls should be returned to the tournament desk following second match use or upon request.
