USTA Southern Championships BG 16 & 18 - West (Pilot)

All singles matches that were rescheduled for 4:00 or later will be played tomorrow. Matches that were on the court or scheduled for 3:00 or 3:30 will be finished as soon as we have playable courts.
Doubles will be played tonight following singles matches. Boys and Girls 16s Doubles is scheduled for 7:00, Boys 18s Doubles is scheduled for 7:15 and Girls 18s(Finals and 3/4) is scheduled for 7:30.


Matches that were in progress will finish the same way they started(6 game sets), CONSOLATION matches(except G-18s) that had not begun will play short set scoring(2 out of 3 4 game sets with a 10 point tie breaker for the 3rd-with ad). We plan to play as many matches as possible on Monday and appreciate everyone's patience through a tough day. Justyn

Practice courts will be open and available for players at RTC until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.

Reunion Teaching professionals will be available for 30 minute warm up sessions throughout the tournament. Contact them directly by phone if you are interested and the cost is $30 for a half hour.

All courts at RTC will be available throughout the weekend prior to the start of matches and are first come/first serve(4 to a court if needed).



Practice courts can be reserved at Parham Bridges on Saturday/Sunday during the course of the day, but you must call to reserve a court and check in the pro shop prior to taking the court. All court fees will be covered by the tournament, but*** IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU CALL TO RESERVE A COURT***and don't just walk onto any open court during pro shop hours. Parham Bridges Tennis Center is located at 5055 Old Canton Road, Jackson, MS 39211 and is about 12 minutes from RTC. Call 601-956-1105 to reserve a practice court at Parham Bridges! If courts are packed(likely only mid-morning on Saturday) we ask that tournament players be willing to split available courts(4 per court if needed). * When setting up your Match Tennis App account, all family members should sign in with the same username and password.
* Make sure you add three DIFFERENT contact numbers during the Pre Tournament Virtual Check-In THAT WILL BE ON during the tournament. They all should be cell numbers since messages will be in the form of texts. When you are called to court, all your contact phones will receive the message.
* If you need to add or change contact numbers go to “My Account” in Match Tennis App and click “Completed Waivers” to add or change contact numbers.

The Southern Junior Competitive Committee has created three Southern Junior Pilot Championships for 2020 to limit travel throughout the section due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state constraints on traveling. The committee wants to provide additional top-level sectional and national point opportunities for junior players.

The Southern Junior Pilot Championships will be 64-draw singles Southern Level 1A (National Level 5 Shadow ranking 2021) offered in three areas Dec. 5-7, 2020. * The tournament that has the total best of strength field will be upgraded to a Southern Level 1 (National Level 4 Shadow ranking 2021).

Players may register for only one tournament determined by the state where they live starting on Oct. 15

Please note that only players that reside in Arkansas, Louisiana & Mississippi will be eligible to play in this tournament. Players from outside of AR, LA or MS that register will not be considered to be selected.

All matches will be played at Ridgeland Tennis Center which is located at 201A McClellan Drive, Ridgeland, MS, 39157

There will be a stringer on site at RTC.

There will be a certified trainer at RTC throughout the tournament.

We will be using Pro Penn Marathon Extra Duty balls.

Doubles will begin on Saturday afternoon following singles matches. If you intend to play and are not listed with your partner on the website, please email me with your partner's name(justynschelver@hotmail.com). If you would like to play and need a partner check and register on Match App first! You can email me as well, but please take advantage of the app.

The format of play for singles is a 64 Draw, Full feed in through the Round of 16. The scoring for SINGLES is Best 2 of 3 sets with a tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
The format of play for doubles is a 32 Draw, Single elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff. The scoring for Doubles is a 6-game set with add.
