IMPORTANT MESSAGES!!!
SAT Test: Saturday, Sep 26 is a SAT test day for some of you. We will try to help with time, but cannot promise. Please let us know in advanced and we will try to take care as much as we can.
Players must enter as a team
with BOTH players registering.
When entering, please check both singles and
doubles, and input your partners USTA number where required.
**PLAYERS Needing Partners: Please email luis.brest@midtown.com with age
division and contact information. I will forward to players needing partners.
Be prepared to play up to 2
rounds per day if needed. The official sanction is for 4 days.
AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE
MATCH, BOTH PLAYERS SHOULD GO IMMEDIATELY TO THE TOURNAMENT DESK TO REPORT
THEIR SCORE AND TO MAKE SURE IT'S ACCURATE. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO CHANGES WILL BE
MADE ONCE THE INITIAL SCORE WAS RECORDED.
* ACADEMIES,
GROUPS & FAMILIES
If you are playing with a training partner,
academy team or group, please advise the Tournament Director IN ADVANCE so
you can be split up in the draw. Please send an email with the Tournament
ID in the subject line to luis.brest@midtown.com
with names. Please note this must be done BEFORE the DEADLINE.
* REFUND
& WITHDRAW
There
will be NO REFUND or CREDIT after the tournament deadline. If you need to
WITHDRAW PRIOR TO THE ENTRIES CLOSING, please use the EDIT
REGISTRATION/WITHDRAW button on the TennisLink Tournament Home Page prior
to the DEADLINE.
* SAFETY GUIDELINES:
The safety and well-being of players,
families and staff is our top priority, thus we have instituted a number
of Safety Protocols that everyone must follow (details below). There will
be no exceptions to the below rules - thank you for your understanding and
cooperation.
DO NOT PLAY:
If you are
exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus. According to the CDC, people with
COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported-ranging from mild symptoms
to severe illness. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the
virus: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills,
repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of
taste or smell.
If you have been in contact with someone with
known or suspected COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
* FORMAT:
Each team match consists of a doubles match
followed by #2 singles match and #1 singles match. The team that wins 2
out of the 3 matches wins the team match.
Please note, players earn points based on
individual wins and not team wins. Even if a team does not advance in the
draw, players receive credit for any individual matches won. Each team
will be guaranteed 2 team matches, unless the draw is not full for reasons
such as teams withdrawing due to injury, illness or personal circumstance.
Doubles is one set to 6 no ad. 10 point
tiebreak at 6-6.
Singles is 2 out of 3 (6 games set),
regular scoring, with a 7 point tiebreak at 6-6. 10 point tiebreak if
split sets.
First round loss consolation. No feed-in. Consolation matches format: It will be 2 out of 3 short sets (starting 2-2) with NO-AD for the singles, and one set to 6 no ad for doubles. 10 point tiebreak at 6-6. * WARM-UP:
Courts will not be available for warm up.
Players will be given a 10-minute on-court
warm up.
* WEATHER ISSUES:
If there are any weather issues/delays,
please do not call the club directly, check online on Tennis Link for
up-to-the hour updates. And/or call the Tournament Director at the following
cellphone: 954-394-5348
REGULAR PROTOCOLS
We have added several new
protocols to help make the tournament safer, by reducing contact and distancing
between the staff, players, spectators, and tournament officials. We need your
cooperation and assistance to follow these protocols. If you have a problem
with the protocols, please withdraw from the tournament. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE
MADE. Please read everything thoroughly.
* Arrive at the club no more than 10 minutes
prior to your starting time.
* You will be arriving, not through the main
entrance of the club, but from the tennis facilities side gate.
* Upon your arrival your temperature will be
taken and you will then walk to your assigned court for your match.
* The main building will remain closed for
players, parents and coaches. Restrooms are next to court # 21. Players lounge
and Pro Shop will be closed. Limited stringing service will be available.
* Mandatory mask to be used at all times while
at the club, except during matches. * Please keep the CDC Social Distance at
all the time while on the club’s premises.
* We will strictly enforced the rule about
player + 1. That means, only 1 person will be allowed to be at the club with
each player.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROTOCOLS FOR PLAYERS
* Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes
to your assigned start time, ready to play and depart immediately after the
match is over and you report the score.
* Bring your own water bottles (enough to last you
through your match), towel, or any other personal equipment, including hand
sanitizer, and store them inside your tennis bag when not in use. All water
fountains are shut down. Water and Gatorade will be available for purchase at a
vending machine located next to court #22 at the restroom building.
* Bring your own chairs (if possible) and avoid
sharing a bench with your opponent.
* There will be no scorecards available. Clearly
verbalize score at the start of each point, have a note pad to write scores
down in between games or write the score on the clay.
* Maintain safe social distance between players
during the racquet spin at the start of a match, on changeovers, and at all
times off the court arriving and departing.
* Offer an acknowledgment such as a nod, a
thumbs up or a “good match” instead of shaking hands.
LIGHTNING DETECTION SYSTEM
Midtown Athletic Club is equipped with an
automatic ThorGuard Lightning Detection system. 1 LONG Blast means to suspend
play (when lightning is at 6 miles or closer), at that time, when matches are
suspended, players and spectators must go to their cars and wait for a call, 3
SHORT Blasts means all-clear
