UPDATED TOURNAMENT INFORMATION - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH
Congratulations on participating in the NC Fall Mountain Junior Championships! This will be an exciting weekend of junior tennis in the wonderful mountains of Western North Carolina. The weather forecast is showing Saturday through Monday will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s. The Asheville/Hendersonville area offers a variety of activities off the court with fantastic restaurants, numerous breweries, hiking, waterfalls and antique shops. There is something for everyone! Our weekend of junior tennis features two outstanding events: USTA/Southern Level 1A for Boys & Girls 12s and a USTA/Southern Level 4 for Boys and Girls 10s-18s. Below is more information on each event. I highly suggest you read through the information as some things have changed. All players must register with Match Tennis App before Thursday at midnight. This will be your resource to check-in for matches, receive your court assignments, report your scores after the match and for communication from the tournament. Players who have not checked-in by that time may be withdrawn from the event. Please note that if you have a player in each event, you must register your player for that event. Registration for one event does not register your other player for the other event. You may access the Match Tennis App by clicking your event below: USTA/Southern Level 1A for BG 12s USTA/Southern Level 4 for BG10s-18s The Tournament Committee for the NC Fall Mountain Junior Championships is comprised of: Chair Scott Handback (Tournament Director for the Level 1A event), Jeff Wilson (Tournament Director for the Level 4 event), Dottie Mattern (Referee for the Level 1A event), Tracey Horton (Referee for the Level 4 event) and Teresa Boylan (USTA/North Carolina Director for Competition and Education). The tournament committee will be set up in a command center at Asheville Racquet Club South. We will have a Site Referee and officials at each of the sites.
We will provide awards for both events as follows:
USTA/Southern Level 1A for BG 12s Champion, Finalist, 3rd Place, 4th Place, 5th Place & 6th Place Sportsmanship Award for Boys Sportsmanship Award for Girls
USTA/Southern Level 4 for BG10s-18s Champion, Finalist, 3rd Place & 4th Place * Any draw that uses a round robin format will only provide an award to the Champion Sportsmanship Award for Boys Sportsmanship Award for Girls
All awards will be located at the Tournament Headquarters at Asheville Racquet Club South. Please stop by to pick up your award after play.
Per USTA/Southern policies, there will NOT be scoring devices on the courts. It is suggested that players bring their own scoring devices if necessary.
There will not be practice courts on site during the tournament, even before 8am matches as workers will be preparing the courts for play for the day. However there are numerous practice courts located throughout the area and are listed below:

When a player checks in on Match Tennis App, they will receive a court assignment when their court is ready. Players will then have five minutes to be on court ready to play. If a player checks-in less than five minutes prior to their schedule match time, then they will not receive the five minutes to get to court before lateness penalties will be applied (see below).
Lateness penalties will be enforced. Players should be at their playing site and check-in on the Match Tennis App 15 minutes prior to their match time. Lateness penalties will be based on the time that the player arrives at their court and ready to play, NOT when they check-in on Match Tennis App. If a player checks in on the Match Tennis App at 9:57 for a 10am scheduled match, but does not arrive to their court until 10:03, they will be penalized for lateness, even though they checked in on the app before their match time.
All scores for matches should be entered into Match Tennis App before leaving the court. To enter your score, please click the link that was sent with your court assignment.
Any withdrawals before or during the event or retirements during a match must send an email to info@carolina10s.com with the reason for the withdrawal or retirement.
Cell phone service in the mountains is very spotty (especially at the Brevard site). Please make sure you have reception at your playing site and ARRIVE EARLY IN CASE YOU DO HAVE CONNECTION ISSUES.
If you have issues with Match Tennis App, please hit the GREEN CIRCLE on the app to chat directly with a technical support specialist at MTA. Site Directors and Tournament Committee members do not have the technical knowledge to assist you.
Technical issues in using Match Tennis App are NOT a reason for players and their guests to NOT use the app for check-in, court assignments and score reporting. If you do not have cell service at your playing site and are unable to use the app, you may call or send a text to 828-406-7383 (at least 15 minutes prior to your match time) so we can find a way to address the situation. Communication received within 15 minutes of your match time will not be able to be handled before the match is called to court.
