SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS AT TOURNAMENTS
While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. USTA Southern has a new requirement for all Southern Level 1, 1A, and 2’s. All tournaments must require players (when not on court) coaches, parents, tournament staff and officials, to wear face masks at all times when inside or outside of the tennis facility. This is not a guideline- it is a requirement. Per USTA Southern, if they do not comply they will be asked to leave or be defaulted from the tournament.

COMMUNICATION - PLEASE READ ENTIRE WEBSITE
--All information will be posted on this Tournament Homepage. --Please email if you need to contact us, tennismobile@gmail.com. Please include the name of the tournament and age division in your correspondence because we have 4 tournaments in a row. --It is imperative for you to add contact information (email and phone) during the USTA online registration process when asked. Also please authorize notifications from the USTA Communication Center - if you do not do this, we will not have access to your contact information. So a player does not miss important communications, please help us and yourselves by offering this contact information. --We will be using the Match Tennis App for Tournament Check-In, Match Check-In, Court Assignment, and Score Reporting. The link for the Virtual Tournament Desk (VTD) and Tutorial are posted above. --After selections have been made, you must complete the Tournament Check-In through the Match Tennis App by Wednesday 9/30. This must be completed for Badges to be printed. If you do not complete this by 9/30, you run the risk of not having a badge to enter the gates. Through this app you must complete the following to be fully checked-in: **Waiver **Player phone number – this number is used to text the court assignment which will allow you to enter the gates along with your badge. This number will also be used to text other important tournament information. **Chaperone Name and Number – we assume this is the “plus one.” If it is not, you need to email tennismobile@gmail.com by 9/30 to tell us who the “plus one” is. This number will also be used to text the court assignment and other tournament information. **Hotel – this information is very important to our organization. While the app will allow you to check-in without this, we will not print your badge unless we have it. We just need the exact hotel name, we do not need # of nights or room number. There are several of the same hotel name at different locations such as Holiday Inn Express USA/Old Shell or Holiday Inn Express I65 Service Road. This is a requirement from our City and County and we must have it.

FACILITY RULES:
The Mobile Tennis Center uses conduct rules above and beyond those enforced by the USTA.
Players participating in tournaments at the facilities identified are
required to abide by these facility rules of behavior on and off of the

deities (i.e. "Oh My God", "Jesus", "Jesus Christ", "Christ", "God")
either spoken or spelled. * No use of "freaking", "frigging", or "fricking" or variations of such words either spoken or spelled. * No Smoking anywhere on the premises. Premises includes parking lots, bathrooms, and anywhere within 30 feet of a tennis court.
Verbal rules apply to any language. We have officials on sight who are fluent in many languages. Anyone found in violation of these rules may be subject to a Code Violation and receive suspension points.

PLAYER PLUS TWO
To help with distancing, only the player plus two people will be allowed inside the gates. --You must communicate your Guests' Name by 9:00 pm Wednesday, September 30th. Delays in your response may result in the plus one badge not being printed. --We will obtain the Guest's name from the Chaperone listed in the Pre-tournament check in through Match Tennis. If you need a second badge, please email that name by Wednesday at 9:00 pm. --Upon being called to the court for your first match through the Match Tennis App text, players will pick up a bag with their badges. --The player and the plus ones will be given a badge and will not be allowed in the facility without that badge. Players will not be allowed on the court without the badge. --Badges must be worn at all times when on site, except when the player is actually playing. --Badges may not be shared. We must know the exact "plus one" in case we have to make Covid notifications per the Health Department. While we realize you may not understand all the reasons for policies and procedures, just trust that we are doing everything we are required and obligated to do for the safety of your kid. We honestly would love for you to bring your entire extended family, coaches, trainers, etc. to the City of Mobile as it is a huge economic impact; however, this is not the goal right now. The goal is to provide a tournament for your kid to earn ranking points SAFELY!

PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES - READ THIS
· Players must bring their own water, sports drinks, ice, and towels. There will be no water on the courts and you will not have access to the ice machines. We will have a concession stand selling Water, Powerade, Snacks and Bagged Ice. For now, cash is preferable as it will be quicker than credit cards. CONCESSION STAND WILL BE IN THE MAIN BUILDING, ACCESS THROUGH FRONT DOOR ONLY. · Players must bring A BROWN SHARPIE AND A BLACK SHARPIE. At the beginning of the match, the official on court will open two cans of balls, one for each player. Each player will mark their name on their tennis balls with the agreed color. Players will only pick up their own tennis balls. · Players must remove all of their belongings from the courts when the match is complete and be sure to place any garbage in the cans. We will not keep our normal lost and found of shirts, wristbands, water jugs, etc. Any items left on the court will be thrown away. · Items that players and their plus one may want to bring for safety and distancing: your own seating, umbrellas for shade, disinfecting wipes and spray, hand sanitizer, and mask. USTA Southern now requires a mask at all times, inside and out. · Upon entering the gates for the first match of the tournament, Players will be given a bag containing their badge and the “plus one” badge. Badges must be worn at all times unless playing a match. Players, do not go to the court with your Plus One badge, we will not let your plus one in without a badge. · All players check in 30 minutes before your match through the Match Tennis App. Note: For the first rounds of the day or other rounds pre-assigned as if we were doing our normal shotgun start, you do not have to check in because it will tell you the match is in progress. · Make sure you have your badge visible around your neck at all times. You will not be able to enter the court without it. · When you receive your court assignment text, click the blue link to confirm as you walk to your court. It will show a scorecard for you to enter the score immediately after your match. · Depending on which bench you choose, you will then be designated as home or visitor for the scorekeeping device. ----If you are home, you will use the brown marker & the colored clothes pin. ----If you are visitor, you will use the black marker & the wooden clothes pin. Please note, USTA Southern says tournaments cannot use scoring devices. We are fortunate that we can use our particular type of device with the use of clothespins and then you are not touching anything but your own stuff. You will be given in your bag 4 clothes pins, two colored and two wooden. You will use one clothespin to keep track of the games and one to designate the winner of the first or second sets. DO NOT FORGET YOUR CLOTHESPINS ON THE COURT. We do not have extras. You will need to bring paper and pen as a back up to keep score if you leave your clothespins on the court in a previous match. · At the end of your match BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE COURT you must Raise your racquet and wait for the official to come to you. You will then report the score to the official. · Both players MUST enter the score on the Match Tennis App BEFORE leaving the court. Some like to wait until much later when they remember; unfortunately, this will mess up the future court assignments and delay the process leaving you waiting outside the gate. · PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES AFTER THEIR MATCH AND NOT GO WATCH OTHER PLAYERS. · GUESTS SHOULD ONLY BE WATCHING THEIR PLAYER AND LEAVE THE SITE AFTER THEIR MATCH · THE GOAL OF THIS TOURNAMENT IS TO PROVIDE A FACILITY FOR MATCHES TO BE PLAYED SAFELY SO KIDS CAN EARN RANKING POINTS, BUT WE ALL HAVE TO DO OUR PART TO NOT BE THE REASON TENNIS IS SHUT DOWN.

COACHES with two or more players or COLLEGE COACHES
We will print a Coach’s badge for you so you can watch multiple kids. But you must follow the rules. --You must communicate by 9:00 pm Wednesday, September 30th, with your Name, USPTA or USPTR #, and the names of the kids you will be coaching. Delays in your response may result in the badge not being printed. --College Coaches only need to provide their name and college, not players names. Delays in your response may result in the badge not being printed. --You may not communicate with players in the site as players are to be on court or outside of the gates (except in the case of a tiebreak). --You must wear a mask at all times. --You will pick up your badge at a location to be determined. --You may not share your badge. --Badge must be worn at all times. --If you are a coach bringing multiple kids, they must stay outside the gates if not playing a match. Coach, you are our first line of defense in keeping the players and staff safe! If you are part of the problem you will be told to leave the site.

FACILITY SITE MAP (map to be updated)
--There will be two site desks covering specific court groupings. Your only way in to your court will be by these site desks and the staff will only let you in with your badge. SITES: A - Courts 9-34; D - Courts 35-52 --Barricades and Gates will designate the two tournament "Sites" (tournament desk and specific court grouping), practice courts, and bathrooms. Anyone caught moving or jumping a barricade will result in a code violation for the player. We have to control entrances and exits properly to minimize any possible exposure. --Players will wait outside the gates, maintaining 6 feet apart, until they receive a court assignment text. --No chairs on sidewalks outside of the gates. The general public use these sidewalks as walking and biking trails. --Only players and their guest should have a need to stand outside the gate while waiting for the court assignment text. No one else should be within 12 feet of the gates. --We are trying to ease some of the Covid restrictions but only you can help us do that. By state mandate at the time this was written, we still cannot have gatherings of 10 or more people. We can logistically maintain this if you do not congregate within the gates or parking lots. In other words, player and their guest enter for that players specific match time, play the match and then leave the site. Please do not make the security have to explain this to you. Click here for

PRACTICE COURTS
Per USTA Southern, only two players can warm up per court. Practice Safe Distancing and no congregating. Basically in the nicest way possible, we are saying get on the court, touch as little as possible, practice, and leave when you are done practicing. The alternative per USTA Southern is not to offer practice courts on site, SO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO SO WE CAN OFFER PRACTICE COURTS ON SITE! Friday - All 60 courts are available for practice, first come - first serve. Saturday, Sunday, & Monday - All 60 courts are available for practice, first come - first served UNTIL 7:30 AM. AT 7:25 AM AN ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR YOU TO EXIT THE COURTS BY 7:30. EVERYONE MUST EXIT SO THE MAINTENANCE STAFF CAN SPRAY THE BENCHES BEFORE 8:00 MATCHES. We will have 8 practice courts open throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. At least 12 practice courts open on Monday. If there is not a high demand for practice courts, we may possibly allow the player's guest or coach on the court. If it is busy, only players will be allowed on the practice courts. Bring your own practice balls marked with your initials. There will be a staff person monitoring the practice courts. If that person tells you only players, DO NOT argue with them. There will be a maintenance person to spray benches after use. There will also be some slow times throughout the day at each of the "Sites." You can ask the desk person of your match site if there are any open courts for practice.
If you want to practice with a coach or parent, you can use the other location listed below before coming to the Mobile Tennis Center. CHTC - Cottage Hill Tennis Center in Medal of Honor Park, 1711 Hillcrest Road, 36695, (251) 666-9539 (10 Courts) - Site opens at 6:30 LP - Lyons Park, 180 Lyons Park Avenue, 36604, (251) 694-1830 (5 Courts) - Site opens at 6:30 am
