This is NOT a qualifying tournament for any advancement, this
tournament will take place at Palmer Park and Parker High School in
Janesville, WI. Backup indoor tennis courts will be at Premier
Tennis and Fitness in Janesville, WI and likely FLAC if we don't
have enough courts to accommodate the amount of participants.
This is a great way for Wisconsin players to accumulate Level 3
tournament points against other top players in the state of
Wisconsin.
Locations:
Palmer Park, 2501 Palmer Drive, Janesville, WI 53545
Premier Tennis and Fitness, 3410 Bell Street, Janesville, WI
53545
The Boys 16 and 18 draws will be played at Premier Tennis and
Fitness.
Below is an outline of how that will work. Parents are welcome
inside the building, but they must wear a mask. The garage door
will stay open so the players do not need to enter the lobby. The
door will remain open into the club, so if the players need to use
the bathroom they will not all touch the door. There will be an
official on site.
If the tournament is played at PTF (the indoor facility) the
tournament desk will be located outdoors behind the back of the
building and the garage doors will be opened up, so the players can
come on and off the court without ever having to go through the
indoor lobby. This will limit their time inside in a confined
space.
The remaining draws (Boys 12,14 and Girls 12,16) will take place
at Palmer Park.
There are 9 outdoor courts and between 6-12 indoor courts
that we will use for sure.
Safety Precautions
We will be complying with all Wisconsin State and Local
regulations for the safety of all involved. Matches will all be
provided 4 tennis balls with the players initials on them as to
limit if not eliminate the common surface of tennis balls. Players
will be asked to stay at the minimum 6 feet away from each other,
bring their own water bottles and towels. To submit match scores
the players will be asked to wear a face covering as they approach
the tournament desk. Spectators will be asked to bring their own
chair(s) and will be required to wear masks when outdoors, and they
will asked to abide by the 6 feet of social distancing. The way the
courts are set up, there are plenty of parking spots that have a
good view of the courts, which is helpful if you are uncomfortable
wearing a mask outdoors. If you would like to view our facilities
complete Infection Prevention Policy, one can be provided upon
request. Infrared temperature checks will be administered to all
participants, parents, and staff workers to ensure the safety of
everyone. Staff working the tournament desk will wear masks when
players or parents approach the desk. There will be no hand shaking
after a match, please bump racquets instead. Players will be
required to sign a Covid waiver form to take part in the
tournament.
SEEDING
This tournament will use All Factors method of seeding, with UTR
the primary component. Midwest Standings and relevant head-to-head
matches will be considered when players are very close in
UTR.
All seeds were based off of UTR as of 9:00am on Wednesday
morning.
Alex Thomas is seeded number 1 in the Boys 12 singles draw. UTR
shows he is unranked, but his profile was hacked and he had a 5.61
utr before the profile was hacked. They are working on fixing his
account. The 5.61 utr give him the highest utr ranking in the Boys
12s, which is why he is seeded number 1.
FORMAT OF PLAY
Main draw matches will play best of three tiebreak sets using ad
scoring, with a 10 pt. Match Tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Consolation matches will play the best of three tiebreak sets using
ad scoring with a 10 pt. Match Tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Players should be prepared to play up to three (3) matches per
day.
