COVID-19 Return to Tournament Play
As we navigate this unprecedented time, all players are expected to adhere to the guidelines set forth by each tournament facility. Tournament Directors are expected and have agreed to follow state and local government guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all players and spectators. All directors have been asked to be on the premise for the duration of the match. In the case this cannot take place, the TD MUST have a USTANE authorized representative who can act as the director. An authorized representative is someone that runs tournaments and is SafePlay approved. Additionally, all TDs have been asked to keep track of when players and their guests arrive and when they leave.
Below you will find facility guidelines and reminders in addition to the USTA return to tournament play guidelines, and player recommendations and reminders that must be adhered to.

- Depending on the number of registered players, Tournament Directors reserve the right to cap the number of participants. - Tournament Directors reserve the right to ask you to leave the facility if proper guidelines are not being followed.

[Mandatory Protocol - COVID-19]
MANDATORY: Each player must complete this liability waiver (link) upon registration. MANDATORY: One chaperone or guest can accompany a player to a tournament. MANDATORY: If a player, chaperone, or guest develops symptoms, you must contact the Tournament Director at the event in which you played.

[Facility Guidelines - COVID-19]
Note: state and local government guidelines will be enforced.
Guidelines: - If playing at an indoor facility, chaperones/guests will be asked to leave the facility while the match is being played. - Players, guests, and chaperones will be asked to wear a mask while they are not on the court and where physical distance cannot be maintained. - If playing at an indoor facility, you will be asked to leave the building in between matches. - Each player will be given their own can of balls. - Bring plenty of water as fountains will be off limits. - If changing sides, make sure to do so on opposite sides of the net. - One player will be designated to maintain the scorecards if scorecards are available at the tournament site. - Bathroom situation outline - If you do not intend to have scorecards available what will your protocol be?

Selection Process
*Attention* - This L4 event will select 12-14 players off of the standings list published 7/16/2020. Up to 4 qualifiers could be admitted into this tournament based off of the 2 scheduled qualifier events (3/7-3/8 & 7/25-7/26).

a) This tournament has a REGISTRATION DEADLINE TWO (2) WEEKS
PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT.
b) The TOP 12 players (of those who register) will be
selected off the most current combined standing list
available.
c) These 12 players WILL NOT be eligible for any L5 Qualifier
tournaments the week before this tournament.
d) Players who think they will be an ALTERNATE however ARE ELIGIBLE
to register for the L5 Qualifier in the SAME AGE
DIVISION.
e) The WINNER & FINALIST of the L5 Qualifier will gain
AUTOMATIC SELECTION into this L4 draw and the Tournament Director
will collect their registration fee at the tournament.
f) Draw size 16 players, Feed in Consolation through Quarter Finals
(Round of 16 and Quarter Final Losers feed into Consolation Draw
which is played out to Finals. Semi-Final Losers play off for
3rd/4th Place.
Score Formats:
Main Draw & 3rd/4th Place - 2/3 full Sets (ads included)
Consolation - 2/3 Short sets to 4. A tie-breaker will be played to
7 if score is 4-4. (No Ads)
Seeding
Seeding for L4/L3 singles tournaments are now based on UTR (7/26
selection will take place)
"If your standing doesn't clearly qualify your selection to the L4
(or L3) - please register for both the L6 Qualifier and the L4! No
player will be selected into the L6 Qualifier with a standing that
is higher than the last selected L4 player."
Scoring Format:
Main Draw - 2/3 Full Sets to 6 (with ads)
Consolation Draw - 2/3 Short Sets to 4. If 4-4 then a tiebreaker
will be played to 7 points. If sets split, then a 10-point
tiebreaker will be used in lieu of a 3rd set (no ads)

GUIDELINES:

- Bathroom situation outline: Only one person will be allowed in the restroom
at one time.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 19, 2020 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
