THE DUNES TOURNAMENT STAFF would like to extend their congratulations to all the players. WE are so very glad we did not cancel this tournament as we feel it was a great success.
The players worked very hard in the hot weather and displayed good sportsmanship and patience while we all learned from the Covid safety procedures.
It was a team effort by our staff and the support of the Dunes Membership, Management and MANY GENEROUS Sponsors.
WE hope if you time please fill out an evaluation for the tournament with the USTA South Carolina or Southerns. .THANK YOU ALL

Due to COVID precautions The tennis clubs will not have water on the courts, there is no ice available for jugs, players need their own court chair since benches do not allow 6’ distance. Waivers should copied and emailed if You do not have one registered With USTA.
At this time the Dunes Club Tennis shop will be open For purchases, but limited to number allowed inside at one time and masks must be worn .

10 & UNDER ORANGE & GREEN DRAWS WILL START matches Friday Evening after 4:00
Surface for each division will be determined after the draws posted and will depend on the number of entries in each division
After the draws are made and times posted, we will advise all players of their site and location of their match check in desk

Leave the Dunes Club on Ocean Blvd, veering to the left at the first "V" in the road. At the stop sign, turn left and follow the road as it curves to the light at Business 17. Stay straight at the light (82nd Ave) ending at Bypass 17. Turn right at the light heading north on Bypass 17 to the next light, turn left into the Grande Dunes (almost directly across from the Dixie Stampede). Turn right onto the street directly before the bridge, then immediately turn left into the Tennis Center.

To ensure a great tourney and a wonderful experience: OUR SAFETY PRECAUTIIONS
No advance check into ONE MAIN TOURNAMENT DESK - Both parent (adult) and junior player simply check in at the site designated on the draw sheet - 15 minutes before the match time ! (Dunes Golf and Beach Club or Grande Dunes Tennis Club) 15 minutes prior to the match time Players will also receive their gift bag at that time
There will be lots of signs indicating each age division's check in desk location and that is where the players will also report their scores.
The officials and staff are ready to accommodate all Covid 19 health precautions, sanitizer at all tables, antibacterial soap in restrooms
Staff will wear masks and have gloves available if needed for equipment adjustments.- gloves for score boards or we may change to marking on court surface.
The player's gift bag will be available at The Dunes Club Tennis Shop after play MUST WEAR MASK IN SHOP.
PLAYERS must bring their own Water cooler and Ice, and towels, black markers for balls. Please send waivers prior to tournament.
We will have bathrooms sanitized regularly.and limit the number of people inside restrooms and pro shop areas
We are working with our food sponsors on the "Covid" guidelines- possibly "box or sack" meals.
Balls will be provided as usual at this time, we will notify of any changes
AGAIN EMPHASIZING --CHECK IN different ages different table areas, BRING USTA WAIVER and sign cell phone,
Players will be called with Court assignment & Both Players to Return to Score table- the last step.- SOCIAL DISTANCING
The scheduling will allow preparedness times for courts and officials and staff to remind all players of safety precautions.

Tuesday Noon We are Very sorry that the Alabama tournament has been cancelled, However, we have completed the seeds and only under review til we post them. We also have to start with other functions of the tournament. THEY HAVE BEEN POSTED.
ALTERNATES WILL BE CALLED IF ANYONE withdraws. EMAIL is the communication method to use and SORRY but PLEASE allow time 6 hours to reply

WE ARE CANCELLING ALL DOUBLES AND WILL notify the USTA to refund those charged.

10 & Under Youth Progression Eligibility
Please be aware this tournament has two 10 & Under Youth Progression divisions. ORANGE BALL DIVISION AND GREEN BALL DIVISION. This means that in order to play in a 10 & Under division, you must be eligible for that corresponding level. If you are not able to register for a 10 & Under singles event, that means you are not eligible for that level. To find out more information call PJ Fulmer at (803) 781-2574.

Tournament/Match Check In
BRING YOUR MEDICAL FORM TO CHECK-IN
Please check-in for the tournament 30 min. early. Tournament check-in will be available beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. Please check into your site of play. If you are not scheduled to play Friday, the check-in is not mandatory, only check in at least 30 min. prior to your first match.

Seeding Criteria
The most current USTA Southern Standing List will be used for seeding purposes.

Boys and Girls 10's Orange Ball Divsions
Boy's and Girl's ORANGE BALL divisions will be played on a 60' court using a low compression orange ball. Racquet size is limited to 25" or smaller. Draw format will be determined by the number of participants. Scoring format as follows: 2 out of 3 short sets using NO AD scoring, first to 4 games (win by 1). If players split sets then a 7 point tiebreak is played for the 3rd set (win by 2). THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2nd AND 3rd SET BREAK IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS. Doubles will be a 6 game pro set Using NO AD scoring

Boys and Girls 10's Green Ball Divisions
Boy's and Girl's 10's GREEN BALL divisions will be played on a 78' court using low compression green ball. Draw format will be determined by the number of participants. Scoring format as follows: 2 out of 3 short sets using NO AD scoring, first to 4 games (win by 2). A 7 point tiebreak is played if players reach 4 all. If players split sets then a 7 point tiebreak is played for the 3rd set (win by 2). THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2nd AND 3rd SET BREAK IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS. Doubles will be a 6 game pro set using NO AD scoring

2020 USTA Southern Youth Progression Update
Please note that starting January 2020 USTA Southern’s Youth Progression has changed from offering 2 levels of Orange ball to only one level of Orange ball - Orange Level 1. Players will now start at Orange Level 1 and progress to Green Level 1 then to Mission Complete/Yellow Ball. Youth Progression point distribution has also changed.
