Update Sunday 10:00a - Remainder of Tournament
Cancelled
We have been discussing the weather situation with The Club at
Glenmore and have decided to cancel the remainder of the
tournament. Currently, the courts are literally underwater and the
radar indicates a long line of showers coming through during the
next few hours and that, combined with low temperatures and
increased cloud cover, makes it extremely unlikely that the courts
would be playable at all today. The decision to not complete a
tournament is one we do not take lightly, but since the chances of
finishing the tournament were slim, even with a shortened format,
we felt this was the best decision. With the vast majority of
players coming from out of town, we did not want to subject them to
what would most likely be a futile attempt to play any matches
today.
We hope you understand our decision and we look forward to more
tournaments, and less rain, in 2021.
Update Sunday 6:00a
It has been raining for the last couple of hours and the radar
indicates that rain will continue at least through early this
morning. As a result, no matches will take place before 12p.
At approximately 10a, we will send another update after we have had
a chance to discuss the situation with Glenmore.
Rain delays are never easy and we are just as frustrated as
everyone else. We thank you in advance for your patience.
Tournament Status Update
The forecast for Sunday is now calling for an increased likelihood
of rain, so we will be monitoring the weather and will keep
everyone updated if there is any information to pass along. This
tournament is only a two day event, so we will do what we can to
play matches tomorrow (Monday is not an option) while also keeping
in mind that a large number of players have traveled from well
outside the area.
This tournament home page will have the most up to date information
regarding any weather delays or changes. Email updates will also be
sent and if anyone would also like to receive text updates, please
text "10/24 L5 updates" to 757-255-8780.
This is an outdoor, 2 day tournament with draws limited to 16
players per division.
