General Tournament Information
This is an outdoor tournament on hard courts. In the event of
inclement weather, matches will move indoors. If that does occur it
will impact tournament scheduling. Tournament Committee will be
Nancy Alfonso, Joanna Carl, and Joe Kim.
COVID 19 Procedure Information
BALLS - Each player will use two balls marked by tournament
staff
SPECTATORS - Limit of 2 spectators per player. Spectators must be 6
feet from courts/fence, wear masks when approaching tournament
desk, and abide by 6 feet of social distancing from other
spectators and tournament staff. We cannot guarantee optimal
viewing due to enforcement of social distancing requirements.
Spectators who do not comply with staff request to social distance
or mask will be required to leave the tournament premises.
SANITIZING - Players are advised to bring personal hand sanitizer
and keep it in their tennis bag. Hand sanitizer will be available
at various points on tournament premises, but will not be on every
court. Wipes will be used on high touch areas.
ARRIVAL TIME- Arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to match time.
Upon check-in players must be properly clothed, equipped (shoes,
racquet, water, sanitizer,etc.) and ready to play. Players must
leave immediately after they have reported scores and received next
match times, unless there is ample space to maintain social
distance.
ADDITIONAL INFO- Players and spectators will need to bring their
own seating. Scorecards will be available and only one of the
players will be assigned to change them during the match. Opponent
will acknowledge that scorecards are showing correct score.
Scorecards will be sanitized after each match.
Players must bring water. Water fountains are not operational.
Masks will be required when entering the club.
We realize that some of the procedures may be an inconvenience;
however we are trying to proactively do our part to prevent
community spread during this unprecedented situation. We expect and
appreciate your compliance.
Tournament Officiating
Players shall follow "The Code". USTA Certified Officials may be
used depending on draw size. Disputes that cannot be resolved
between the players shall be referred to tournament staff. Acting
Referee will be Joe Kim
Scoring
Level 4 Format - 2 of 3 sets with tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set,
FMLC.
Schedule of Play
Players must be able to play at all times during the tournament
dates. Tournament directors are not obligated to accommodate any
special schedules. Depending on the size of the draw matches may
start as early as 12:00 PM on Friday. Matches may begin as early as
9:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
Draw Size
The draw size may be limited to 16 players per division. The actual
draw sizes will be determined by the number of entries across the
divisions being played. Too few players in one division might allow
a larger draw in another division.
Selection Process
Players will be selected using the most current Midwest Standings
List in the age group of the event.
First Match Times
First match times and draws will be available on Thursday, July
16th
Withdraws/Midwest Suspension Point System
If you need to withdraw while registration is still open, please go
to our homepage and in the left margin click on "Edit Registration"
and proceed to withdraw. No reason is necessary while the
registration is still open. If registration has closed and
tournament has not begun yet, please email the tournament director
and list the reason for withdraw. If tournament has begun, please
call the tournament director. REMEMBER when withdrawing from
a USTA event once the selections have been made, the only reasons
that are accepted by the USTA Referee without incurring FIVE (5)
suspension points are injury, illness or family emergency. Having a
soccer game, a family dinner, or not feeling like playing the
consolation are not accepted reasons.
Signing Up for Two Events/Midwest Suspension Point
System
USTA/Midwest Section Suspension Point System The USTA Code of
Conduct and Suspension Point System is in effect. You are expected
to play the entire event as scheduled. The USTA/Midwest Section
Junior Competition Committee has adopted a new Suspension Point
System. All players will be given FIVE (5) suspension points for
entering two or more tournaments that take place at the same time,
in whole or in part, unless each Tournament Committee involved
agrees with the multiple entries in writing. This applies to all
players who signed up for the tournament including
alternates.
USTA Contact Information
Procedure for tournament registration: because of Privacy Laws,
your contact information from USTA membership doesn't show up in
the Tournament Directors' software anymore. Only what you indicate
during the registration process shows up. We have no way of
contacting you if you leave these areas blank. For instance, your
opponent is sick. You may make an extra trip here and not need to.
You must indicate all phone numbers, home, cell (a must!), work and
your email address on each registration, EACH and EVERY time, for
each and every tournament you register for.
Seeding Regulations
The number of players seeded shall equal a power of two (for
example 2,4,8,16,32). The maximum ratio of players seeded shall be
one in three, except that any draw may have two seeds. No more
seeded players at #'s 5,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14,15, etc. For reference

Refunds
NO REFUNDS once player selections have been made after the entry
deadline.
Awards
Awards will be given to the winner and finalist.
