Keeping our Players Safe - What You Need to Know for the Tournament
Hi Parents and Players, We are excited about the start of the new tournament season that will start this weekend. I wanted to provide some direction in regards to what we are doing to "Keeping Players Safe at Match Point" and also some additional details for parents, guardians & spectators that may be coming to Match Point with player/players: Please see the link below for full details. We will be following all CDC recommended guidelines USTA recommended protocols. usta.com/playersafety
Tournament structure changes highlight: A) Players will each get two balls with different # to use while serving. B) Player are not to touch any other balls besides their own while playing. (Kick, roll or hit balls back to opponent, or other court) C) No score cards will be used. Players are responsible for keeping their scores. If a player would like to bring their own score crd for matches that will be allowed. D) Players are not to shake hands. (Players may bump racquets as a gesture at the end of match) E) Hand sanitizer will be available for use after matches and is encouraged.
1) Match Point is a boutique club, so seating is limited so we ask only one spectator attend (1 per player). Spectators will only be allowed to stay and watch for the duration of their players match only and will need to stay in designated areas and practice social distancing (6ft. apart). No seating will be provide so you our encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs for seating indoors. (Only Players are allowed on the courts for warm up. (No parents or coaches allowed for warm-ups). Seating/standing on outer courts will be allowed as long as good sportsmanship and rules of the club are followed! 2) All adults/players will be required to have a face mask or a face covering at all times when indoors. Once players competing are at their assigned courts they will be allowed to remove face covering for competition. 3) There will be no seating/gathering in the clubhouse lobby! Players are asked stay outside and to report 15 min. before scheduled match time to encourage social distancing! 4) Please send your player with his/her own towel, water bottle and drinks. Their will be no water fountain/towel service available at this time. 5) Please do not interact with other players while they are at the tournament or waiting for their events to start to help limit interactions they are exposed to. 5) Please keep your player with you and practice social distancing (6ft.) till their events begins and the the tournament director tells them to come onto the courts.
We are very confident that if we all work together we can have a safe, fun and great 2020 tennis tournament season! As always, please let me know if you have any questions...
See everyone at Match Point Tennis & Fitness Club in Griffith, IN.
Sincerely,
Coach Davis cdavis@matchppointtennis.com (219) 808-2002 (Cell)
