Tournament Update - Please Read. Friday February 21st 2:45pm
Email that was sent to all players 2/21 at 2:45pm Hi All,
Looks
like the weather will cooperate this weekend so we’re looking forward to the
awesome weather and some great tennis. See below details for this weekend.
Before you read the details below, each tournament
info email I send out this year will have a “did you know…” based around some
weird USTA rules that most don’t know, SO…. Here we go….
DID YOU KNOW?
During a mandatory “Rest Period” between
matches, players are not permitted to warm up on any onsite courts. For
the Super series, being that it’s a full 3 set tournament, the mandatory rest
period is 2 hours, therefore no players is permitted to warm-up onsite during
that time. Consequence could potentially be a default. How many of
you knew this rule?
Draws
Please check the draws again, we have had
some withdrawals throughout the day and draws have changed. It is the
players responsibility to know the time of their match.
Warm up courts
Any court that’s open will be available for warm-up, however once the first
match has started there will be no courts at Fremont Tennis Center. Other
options for warm-ups are Mission San Jose Community Park, Niles Community Park,
Centerville Community Park. Google these and you will have the address for each
park. These are City of Fremont owned and are first come basis.
Check in & location
Tournament desk will be inside the pro shop of Fremont Tennis Center (FTC),
1110 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont. All matches will be at FTC and all players are
expected to know their match times and check in 15 minutes prior.
Expectations
We expect all players, parents and supporters
to act within the code of conduct, our request is Players Play, Officials
Officiate and parent support, please do you part and let us do our job to ensure
a good experience for all.
Videoing of matches
There will be no personal video recording of matches, this is City of Fremont
Tournament Committee Rule that was instituted years ago when I had to get in
between to parents fighting. This supersedes the USTA NorCal rules. We
understand parents and players may want matches recorded for Player Development
purposes and have provided a service for this, see details below.
