USTA Heart of America COVID Safety Rules for Winter 2020
Tournament Directors will be implementing a number of measures to help provide a safe playing environment during the Covid-19 pandemic. Players and spectators must make every effort to follow this new protocol before, during and after their matches
- Indoors - Masks are mandatory at all times for both player and spectator, except while player is on court playing. No exceptions. - A waiver will be signed before the start of play and temperature will be taken of player & spectator. - Only 1 spectator per player allowed. - Players will be asked to sit 6-feet from their opponent during changeovers. - Players to bring own personal towels, water and ice. - Score tenders will now be available. Only 1 player should change the score for the entire match. - Players to arrive on site 10 minutes before scheduled match time and depart promptly after reporting your match score. - Make every effort to maintain a safe social distance from players, officials, spectators and tournament staff to minimize the risk of exposure.
Due to Covid protocols, there will be NO DOUBLES.

PLAYING TO COMPLETION Regulation 27: Playing to Completion. To play to completion means to play all the player's matches in a tournament including main draw, mandatory FIC, mandatory consolation and mandatory place play-offs. A player will not be awarded any points for the tournament and will be charged with 5 suspension points if the player does not play to completion for any reason other than: -Retirement from a match because of injury, illness or personal circumstance -Inability to play because of injury, illness or personal circumstance when the player's problem become apparent before the match or during the warm-up.
Failure to complete a match because of a conflict or not to miss school is not considered a valid personal circumstance. Instead, players should not register for a tournament unless able to play entire event.
"No Shows" will also be charged with 5 Suspension Points.

Late Entries will not be accepted. Do not wait until the last minute to enter into this event.
If you have technical difficulties entering please email the Tournament Director with a screen shot of the issue before the deadline has passed.
Skill Level:
High- Level Intermediate
Eligibility: This event will be open to all junior members in the USTA Missouri Valley. A player must be 11 years of age or completes the USTA 10 and Under Youth Progression program to participate.

No Concurrent Tournament Entries • Players should not be registered for two tournaments with overlapping dates, unless they have received prior permission from both tournament committees/Tournament Directors. If a player is found to be registered for two events with overlapping dates and/or if a player withdraws from one event to play in another after selection has been completed, the player will be penalized with suspension points.

Tournament Selection
After the entry deadline has passed, the tournament director will select players based on the most recent version of the USTA Missouri Valley Standings list. Singles closed to a draw of 24 players. WITHDRAWS & REFUNDS
Before the Entry Deadline: A withdrawal before entries close needs to be done through the online registration process. Click on the "Withdraw" link in the Edit Registration box to the left to complete this step. Your credit card will not be charged. Click on the "Locate Confirmation Number" link if you have misplaced the confirmation number.
After the Entry Deadline: Withdraws after entries close need to be emailed to the tournament director at the address above. Refunds are not given for withdraws that happen in the 6 days before the start of the event.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, December 20, 2020 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
