The USTA Tournament Structure is changing in 2021. We are hosting two seminars to make you aware of the coming changes. Please plan to attend one or both of these seminars. Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Crystal Inn - located at 818 East Winchester Street, Murray, UT 84107. This is our Host Hotel. Please meet in the conference room. Also Saturday upstairs in the food court area of the Salt Lake Tennis Club at Noon.

The Crystal Inn is located at 818 East Winchester Street, Murray, UT 84107. This hotel is right off of I-215. I-215 is the belt route around Salt Lake City. It is a very good central location between all of the tournament sites, and is very close to the Sports Mall and the Cottonwood Country Club. The Crystal Inn offers a VERY NICE complimentary full breakfast buffet and light dinner, free high speed internet, an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, an exercise room, and in-room microwaves and refrigerators. This hotel is located close to the Eagleridge Swim & Tennis Club and also close to the Ogden Athletic Club. It is located at 1030 North 400 East, North Salt Lake. SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO ONE GIRL AND ONE BOY FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOR BOTH ON AND OFF THE COURT. A SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO ONE PARENT FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOR DURING THE TOURNAMENT. A NEW FED TEAM BACKPACK WILL BE GIVEN TO EACH OF THE THREE SPORTSMANSHIP WINNERS. A HUGE THANK YOU TO WILSON FOR DONATING THE BACKPACKS. Nominations for the awards may be provided by the Umpires, Site Directors, Desk Managers, players, parents, facility staff and the Tournament Director. If you would like to nominate someone for these awards - please ask the Tournament Desk Manager to let you write down the information. There is paper to write your nominations on in each tournament desk book.

48 players will be accepted into the tournament in each singles division. These 48 players will be placed on a 64 draw. The format will be a full feed-in consolation through the round of 16 with a Quarterfinal Playoff draw, best 2 of 3 sets. All consolation matches will be best 2 of 3 sets with a 10-point tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. Singles matches will begin Saturday morning at 8:00 am. Doubles will be 8 game pro sets, single elimination. Doubles matches will begin Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm. YOUR DOUBLES PARTNER MUST BE PLAYING IN THE SAME SINGLES DIVISION AS YOU. For example - if you are playing in the Boy's 12's Singles Division, your partner CAN NOT be playing in the Boy's 14's Singles Division. Unfortunately those types of requests can not be accommodated due to the potential scheduling match location conflicts.

On the third overrule of a player's line calls, the point penalty system will take effect. On the third overrule it will be a point, the fourth overrule it will be a game and on the 5th overrule it will be match.

All seeding for the tournament will be based on the Universal Tennis Rating. As shown in Friend at Court - number of seeds - The number of players seeded shall be a power of two (for example, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32). The maximum ratio of players to seeds shall be one in three, except that any draw may have two seeds.

The Referee for this tournament is Jeff Haderlie. Play will be subject to the rules of the USTA. The USTA Point Penalty System will be enforced throughout the tournament. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.

If you would like me to pair you up with a doubles partner, you must contact me at rwise@utahtennis.com NO LATER than Friday, January 3rd. I will pair those players with partners over the weekend and post them on Monday, January 6th. I will post the doubles draws earlier than the singles draws so that players can make travel arrangements.

Beginning January 2nd, a $15 late fee will be charged for any player who wants to register late for the 2020 ITA Winter Masters tournament. A late registration will only be accepted into the main draw if there are less than 48 players in that division. For divisions with more than 48 players, late registrants will be placed at the bottom of the alternate list. PLEASE SIGN UP ONLINE AND ON TIME.

In order for 10 & Under players to be eligible for this tournament, they must have completed the orange and green requirements in their District.

Players, please remember that as per Friend at Court, the players are solely responsible for learning the time and place of their matches. Tournament Desk personnel will give out match times to players if asked, but "The players should not rely on being told the time of their matches and should check the draw". The exception to this rule would be if we reschedule a match because a previous match ran long, or a snow bank blocked the road, etc. In those types of instances, the Site Director will let the players know the new time that the match will be played. IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONFIRM YOUR MATCH TIMES AGAINST THE DRAW. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION WITH THE USTA IS CURRENT AND CORRECT.

All Tennis Players will be required to wear appropriate tennis attire and dress in a manner consistent with the facilities expectations as well as the expectations of a participant in the USTA Intermountain Winter Masters Tournament. Boys - no tank tops or very low riding shorts. Girls - top and skirt or shorts must touch when standing. Cut off shorts, bare midriffs, compression shorts and tights (alone) or any other attire that is simply recreational and not tennis oriented is not acceptable.

There will be a Videotaping / filming Permission Form available at the Tournament Desk. Parents or guardians of the tournament participants will need to fill out this form in order to be able to film anything that will include the other players. This form will require a parent or guardians consent and signature to allow the video taping of the full court. You of course can always videotape your own player, but for the protection of the other minor player, you will need to fill out the form prior to videotaping / filming anything that will include the other player.

Please obey all rules and policies for the tennis venues and hotels. Anyone involved in any questionable conduct at guest facilities will be defaulted from the tournament. Please be respectful of others, be courteous to the tournament staff and volunteers. An occasional THANK YOU goes a long way! Please help to keep the tournament sites clean by picking up your trash on the grounds and courts. Thank You!

DUE TO THE SIZE OF THIS EVENT, THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING FROM OUT OF STATE, AND THE TOURNAMENT FORMAT - AVOIDANCE'S ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

PLAYER CHECK-IN WILL TAKE PLACE WHEN YOU CHECK-IN FOR YOUR FIRST SINGLES MATCH. TOURNAMENT SHIRTS WILL BE GIVEN OUT AT THAT TIME.

We are sorry that we are not able to remove the play-off for 7th and 8th place from the tournament website. There is no time showing because this match will not take place. This is a glitch in the tournament software.

UNTIL CHECK-IN, CHANGES IN THE DRAWS CAN AND OFTEN DO OCCUR! THE DRAWS ARE NOT FINAL UNTIL THE MORNING OF JANUARY 17th. Doubles matches will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday the 17th. Singles matches will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday the 18th. Please make your travel plans accordingly.

The last matches of the tournament will be scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st at 1:30 pm. Please make your travel plans accordingly.

IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A REFUND IF YOU WITHDRAW FROM THIS TOURNAMENT, YOU MUST NOTIFY ME BY EMAIL (rwise@utahtennis.com) OR LEAVE ME A VOICE MESSAGE STATING THAT YOU ARE WITHDRAWING FROM THE TOURNAMENT ON MY WORK VOICE MAIL AT (801) 944-8782 x113 by 11:59 PM ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 11th. As per Friend at Court "The Tournament Committee shall refund a player's entry fee if the player withdraws no later than seven days before the start date of the tournament. "No refund is required beginning six days before the start date of the tournament. The fee for electronic entries is not considered part of the entry fee and is non-refundable."

Girl's 18's matches will be played at the Eccles Tennis Center - located at 550 South Guardsman Way in Salt Lake City. When playing at Eccles, please park in the parking lot directly East and across the road from the Eccles Tennis Center. There will be a small fee that will be good for all day. There is also parking along the road by the facility with a two hour parking limit. Do not stay in one spot for longer than the two hours - or they will ticket your car - I personally know about that! Also DO NOT PARK NEXT TO THE OUTDOOR COURTS - YOU ARE ON CAMERA THERE AND YOU WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED.

Boy's 18's matches will be played at the Sports Mall for all matches except for the final day. The Sports Mall is located at 5445 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Play on Tuesday will be at the Eccles Tennis Center - located at 550 South Guardsman Way in Salt Lake City. Parking notice for Eccles - please park in the parking lot directly East and across the road from the Eccles Tennis Center. There will be a small fee that will be good for all day. There is also parking along the road by the facility with a two hour parking limit - don't test it, they do give tickets - I have experienced this several times. Also do not park by the outdoor courts, you are on camera there and will be ticketed and towed.

Girl's 16's matches will be played at three locations, Liberty Park - the entrance to Liberty Park is located at 650 East 900 South in Salt Lake City, and at Oak Hills - located at 1216 South Wasatch Drive, Salt Lake City. The final day of matches will be played at the Salt Lake Tennis Club, located at 2471 South 1700 East in Salt Lake City.

Boy's 16's matches will be played at the Salt Lake Tennis & Health Club - located at 2471 South 1700 East in Salt Lake City.

Girl's 14's matches will be played at three locations. Friday's doubles matches will be played at the Eccles Tennis Center - located at 550 South Guardsman Way, Salt Lake City. Matches for the rest of the week will be played at one of the two following locations: Cottonwood Country Club - located at 1780 East Lakewood Drive In Salt Lake City. And also at the Sports Mall - located at 5445 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Please check your draws carefully. Please note that warm-up courts and practice courts are not available at the Cottonwood Country Club. Please see the list of other facilities that will have practice courts available to reserve.

Boy's 14's matches will be played at three locations. Matches on Friday will be played at the Salt Lake Tennis Club, and Tuesday matches will be played at the Sports Mall - located at 5445 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be played at the Park City MARC - located at 1200 Little Kate Road, Park City. Please check your draws carefully.

Girl's 12's matches will be played at the Ogden Athletic Club and at the Eagleridge Swim & Tennis Club on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Friday's Doubles matches will be played at Oak Hills, located at 1216 South Wasatch Drive, Salt Lake City. Tuesday's matches will be played at the Sports Mall - located at 5445 South 900 East. Please check your draws carefully. The Ogden Athletic Club is located at 1221 East 5800 South, Ogden. The Eagleridge Swim and Tennis Club is located at 711 Parkway Drive, North Salt Lake. Please note that we do have a room block close to these two sites. Please see the above hotel information.

Boy's 12's Doubles matches will be played at the Sports Mall - located at 5445 South 900 East, Salt Lake City on Friday. All matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be played at the Ivory Ridge Tennis Club - located at 62 East Club View Lane, Lehi. Matches on Tuesday (the final day) will be played at the Sports Mall - located at 5445 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Please check your draws carefully.
