Some second round consolation matches will be held at Gold River Sports Club. Please check your draws closely to make sure that you show up at the correct place. After Saturday, all matches will be held at Johnson Ranch.
|
Seedings will be done shortly, and then draws and schedules will be worked on. Please note that we have room for one G12 player to still enter.
We have an opening for one G12 player. If you would like to play in this tournament, please notify the referee by Sunday, Feb 9th, by 4 PM. The first applicant who applies and can confirm entry with credit card information will be entered. If other G12s, would like to be placed on the alternate list for possible future openings, we can do that also.
We will be using a satellite site on Saturday, Feb 15th, from 2 PM on at Gold River Sports Club, 2201 Gold Rush Drive, Gold River CA 95670. All first round matches will be held at Johnson Ranch, but some second round matches will be sent to Gold River to complete that round. Please check your draws carefully for your site of play.
Draws will be posted no later than Wednesday, Feb 12 at 10 AM. Usually we are able to get the draws completed and posted by Tuesday evening.
|
Selections for main draws and alternate lists are now published.
Please review your listing and make sure that it is correct. Selections were done on the 2/6 NorCal combined final ranking list. Alternates were ordered also by this list.
Remember if you need to withdraw for any reason now, we need an explanation to excuse it. If the reason is for a medical issue or injury, a medical note may be required to excuse it. If a withdrawal is not excused, suspension points will apply.
There will be no refunds for the tournament entry fee for withdrawals or any other reason after Saturday, Feb 8th, at 11:59 PM.
|
Feb 5th - new ranking list not yet posted. The selections will be published hopefully tomorrow after it comes out.
All of the draws are now full. I can add late entrants only to the bottom of the timely alternate lists now, i.e., late entrants will follow all of the timely entrants. Once the seeding of the events is done, late entrants can only be added to the draw if an opening occurs and if they will not affect the seeding.
|
Entries are now closed for this tournament! The selections will be done sometime tomorrow when the new NorCal ranking list is published.
Feb 4th - I can take one more G12 entrant, if someone would like to play and can let me know by tomorrow. I will require credit card information for the entry. Any other late entrants will follow the timely alternates in order of application. If you do not wish to be on the alternate list, please let me know and I will remove you.

Welcome and Information for ALL players
Welcome
to the Johnson Ranch Championships. This singles-only tournament will
be held over three days, February 15-17, 2019. The singles draw for each age
division will be limited to the top 32 players selected from the most recently
published Combined Sectional Final Ranking list at the time of entry closure.
Those not initially selected will become alternates for that division and will
be ordered by the same selection list. A full Feed-In Consolation will be
played through the round of 16 with playoffs for third/fourth and fifth/sixth
place. No doubles events are offered.
Please enter the age division in which you wish to play. You may enter only one
age division. If you are not selected into that division in the main draw, you
will be an ordered alternate for that division. If, as an ordered alternate,
you wish to be on a different alternate list or entered into an open spot in a
different age division, please contact the referee. You will be a late entrant
for this division, and will follow all of the timely alternates.
Those players who are selected into the main draw will have their credit cards
charged at the time of selection. Alternates are NOT charged. Players whose
credit cards do not process and alternates who are moved into the main draw
must make arrangements to pay the tournament entry fee prior to play. If the
entry fee is not paid by the deadline set by the tournament committee, you will
not be entered into the draw or you will be disqualified from the draw for
non-payment.
Please enter on time if
you wish to play. Please note that late entries may NOT be accepted. The
deadline to enter this tournament is February 3rd at 11:59 PM. Selections will be made by Friday,
February 7th, if not sooner. There are no refunds given for any
reason after Saturday, February 8th at 11:59 PM. Draws and schedules
will post no later than Wednesday, February 12th at 10 AM.
Do not
violate the Concurrent Tournament Rule. Please withdraw from our alternate list
if you enter another tournament or no longer wish to be on it.
Tournament communication - please enter your email address when you register so
that we might be able to reach you if there is a problem. If you do not enter
your email address, you may not receive additional communications as needed.
Please email the tournament director and the referee with all correspondence or
questions. Do not call the front desk - we may not get your question or
message. Check this website frequently for other information, weather updates,
etc.
Formats
of Play:
BG14-18 - All Main Draw matches and 3/4 Place Playoff Matches will be the best
of three tiebreak sets. All FIC matches and 5/6 playoff matches will use a
10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the full third set.
BG12 - All matches will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu
of the third set.
Rules of Play: We applaud and expect good sportsmanship from all
participants, including coaches and spectators. We are governed by the
Code which dictates that benefit of line calls should always be in
favor of the opponent when there is doubt. In a USTA NorCal Junior
Tournament, a code violation will be assessed for unsportsmanlike conduct when
a player is overruled for the third time and for every subsequent overrule
thereafter during the entire tournament. We operate under the NorCal
Zero Tolerance Policy for behavior. Players should be familiar with
the Point Penalty System and the USTA Junior Suspension Point System (SPS).
Spectators should be aware that unsportsmanlike behavior by a spectator could
result in dismissal from the site and possible assessment of penalties to your
player.
Lateness penalties will be enforced. Players are expected to check and comply with
all scheduling done by the Tournament Committee. A player is deemed to have
arrived when the player checks in at the place designated for checking in and
is properly clothed, equipped, and ready to play. The lateness penalty clock
starts at the scheduled match time regardless of court availability.
Appropriate
tennis attire, including non-marking shoes, is required for all matches.
Clothing not considered proper tennis attire can include, but not be limited
to: • Sports bras worn alone (without a shirt). • Shirts with references to sex, drugs, alcohol or tobacco.
• Compression shorts worn alone (not covered by shorts or a skirt).
Tournament site: Johnson Ranch Sport Club, 2501 Eureka Road, Roseville
CA 95661. Check-in desk will be located here. 25 courts are located on the main
site with 7 courts located on the south side, across the street. 27 of the 32
courts have lights.
Avoidances: in fairness to all players and to the tournament,
avoidance requests cannot be specifically honored.
Withdrawals: We understand that players get
hurt or sick and may have to withdraw from the tournament for that reason. If
you have to withdraw for illness or injury, you must be able to provide a
medical note for verification of the withdrawal to have it excused. If a note
is not provided, suspension points will apply for an unexcused withdrawal. If
you get injured or sick at the tournament site and you do not feel that you can
play in the next match, please see the referee to withdraw. If you retire a
match for illness or injury, you will not be required to submit a note if you
report this information to the tournament desk or referee before your next
scheduled match.
