Midlands to be played in Des Moines for 2020

Midlands Juniors has been moved to Des Moines due to lack of court availability and Covid-19 restrictions in Johnson County.
Boys and Girls 12s & 14s will be hosted by Life Time Athletic but will be played outside @ Walker Johnston Tennis Courts
Boys and Girls 16s & 18s will be hosted by Genesis Health Club but will be played outside @ Valley Southwoods

Friday start times

Singles matches will start no earlier than Noon on Friday August 7th

Doubles are allowed

The USTA Missouri Valley has lifted restrictions on playing doubles for August. We plan on start doubles matchplay Saturday afternoon.

Notes

Here are the guidelines for the tournament:
Please go directly to your site to check in
Please arrive only 20 minutes before your scheduled match
Please keep physical distance from other players and spectators
We will have hand sanitizer at the tournament site and desk.
We will not be using score cards so please say the score loud enough for your opponent and spectators to hear that are near
Each player will be given two balls (odds/evens) each to serve with while playing.
Please place your bags at the opposite net post from your opponent or at opposite ends of the bench on the court.
Please leave your two balls near the net post when not serving.
Please do not touch your opponent's tennis balls with your hands but rather with your racquet and/or foot
When reporting scores we will have hoppers to put your used balls in like normal
Both players should come to tournament desk to report scores so that they get their next match time
Instead of shaking hands at the end of the match they are welcome to touch racquets or just nod to acknowledge a good match
