TIMES - ICE - WATER- AND CHAIRS
The first round times have been posted. We will post All times mid day Friday. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN ICE AND WATER. We will have bottle water and Gatorade for sale. We also recommend an ice chest with an ice towel to cool down on change overs.SPECTATORS AND PLAYERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN FOLDING CHAIRS as our regular benches will be taped off and unavailable.

DRAWS - Important for Boys 12s L4; Boys 14 L4; and Boys 18 L4 - Some of these Matches will be scheduled at 4:00 on Friday.
Draws are up.Times will be up late Thursday afternoon. We originally stated that we would not play any on Friday. However we have three divisions that are Round Robins that must play on Friday afternoon to get in the 5 rounds.

CTC FACILITY COVID PROTOCOLS
There will be more information provided on another message but here is some pertinent information regarding some Covid facility protocols: 1)You will be responsible for bringing your own water and ice. The ice machine will not be available and there will not be water on the courts. There will be water and Gatorade available for purchase in the pro shop. 2) Our regular seating will not be available. Players and spectators must have their own folding chairs for sitting. Players will need to bring a folding chair to the court 3)All players must max at 2 people with them at any time while at the facilities. 4)All players must arrive at the facility no more than 15 minutes before their match THEN leave no more than 15 minutes after their match is completed. 5)All players please remember to grab ALL of their personal items off the court before leaving. 7)There will be scorecards on all courts, BUT, each player is responsible to touch only their own side of the scorecard. 8)Everyone is expected to adhere to social distancing procedures.

FACILITY/SAFETY PROCEDURES
Due to the ongoing
concerns of COVID-19, tournaments and the people who participate in them will
need to follow the Arkansas Department of Health’s Directive for Community and
School Sponsored Team Sports. Please click
on the link above to access the State Directives.
This
includes:
·
Face coverings are required for all persons
present, except for children under 10 years of age, who are exempt. For outdoor
venues, once attendees are seated and maintaining 6 feet physical distance from
others, face coverings may be removed. However, if moving around where social
distancing is not achievable, such as in food and beverage areas, or any area
where there is confinement such that 6 feet distancing cannot be maintained,
the face covering must be put back in place.
o
Athletes, Coaches, and Officials may be
without face covering during active play.
Facility Procedures
·
The tournament desk will be on the patio – it
will be an open area to social distance.
·
The bathrooms will be open.
·
We will not have ice and water available for
players. Players will need to bring
their own.
·
Spectators AND Players will need to bring their
own chairs. No other seating will be
available. We are limiting 2 Spectators
per player.
·
If it begins raining, players should turn in
their current score and go wait in their cars.
Players will need to check the TennisLink tournament homepage for
further information. One player should
hold the tennis balls.
Safety Procedures
·
Do NOT play if you have any symptoms of COVID-19
(see CDC Guidelines guidelines on the link above),
or are not feeling well.
·
Social distancing (6 ft) is required at all
times.
·
Bring your own hand sanitizer.
·
Wash your hands before AND after play.
·
Bring your own equipment (this includes water
bottles, towels, or any other personal equipment that is stored inside of your
tennis bag).
·
Maintain a safe, physical distance between
yourself and your opponent during the racquet spin at the start of the match.
·
Maintain physical distancing if changing ends of
court.
·
Avoid touching the net, fences and gates as much
as possible.
·
If a ball comes onto your court, use your
racquet to send the ball back.
·
Clearly verbalize the score at the start of each
point.
·
After the match, do NOT shake hands—do a racquet
tap, nod, thumbs up or “good match”, then leave the court and go report scores
immediately.
·
Pick up your balls on court after the match and
return them to the tournament desk.

ENTRY LIMIT
Due to the expected heat and to help with Covid scheduling, only 1 singles allowed.

FRIDAY PLAY
Depending on the size of the tournament, play could possibly begin as early as noon on Friday. We will not begin any 10s on Friday.

SEEDING
We use the Southern published standing for 12s – 18s Level 4. We use - Arkansas published standings for 12s – 18s Level 5. We use Arkansas unpublished standings for all 10 & Under draws. Seeds will be posted Wednesday at noon. Any discrepancies need to be reported by 4:00pm Wednesday July 17. Round Robins do not get seeded.

DRAW FORMATS
Events with 6 or more entries will play a Modified Feed In Consolation. This means you will be guaranteed 2 matches. Depending on the size of the draw, you may have another match if you lose later in the draw. So, Check the draws to be sure. Win or lose you should check the draw to be sure. If still not sure check with the tournament desk before you leave the facility. Events with 3 to 5 entries will be a Round Robin. You play everybody in the draw once. (One round could play play on Friday)

TOURNAMENT SCORING
With normal weather conditions, main draw and consolation singles matches will be the best of two advantage sets - to 6 (by two) with a seven-point tiebreak at 6-6. If necessary, a 10 point match tiebreak will be played in lieu of a third set, first to ten by two. Before the tiebreak for the 3rd set, there will be a three-minute mandatory set break. (Coaching is allowed during the 3-minute break.) All 10 & Under matches will be Short Sets - to 4 (by two) with No-Add scoring and a 7 point tiebreak at 4-4. If necessary, a 7 point match tiebreak will be played in lieu of a third set.

COURT SURFACE
Orange 10U play on hard courts. All other divisions are played on the clay courts.

TOURNAMENT BALLS
This tournament uses the Wilson Ultra All Court Balls. Level 5 12s Will use Wilson Green Dot Balls, 10s Green will use Wilson Green Dot Balls, and 10s Orange will use Wilson Orange Dot Balls. Each match will be assigned three balls.

DOUBLES
Because of Covid we are not playing doubles this year.

DIRECTION TO CTC
Directions to the Village RE availble at explorethevillage.com. Please note that this is a gated community and you can only access Hot Springs Village at the East or West Gates. GPS will sometimes take you to an unmanned gate that will NOT give you access. Please be sure to enter at one of the two manned gates, the East or West Gate. You should be on Desoto Blvd. Also remember that there is an additional 9 miles (approximately 15 minutes) to the HSV Tennis Center after entering the gate. -When entering at the East Gate from Hwy 5 coming from Benton/Little Rock, continue on Desoto Blvd. approximately 8 miles, then turn left on Balearic. Continue approximately 2 miles and turn left on Ponderosa Lane. The HSV Tennis Center is 4 blocks on the left. When entering at the West Gate from Hwy 7 coming from Hot Springs, continue on Desoto Blvd. approximately 8 miles, then turn Right on Balearic. Continue approximately 2 miles and turn left on Ponderosa Lane. The HSV Tennis Center is 4 blocks on the left.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, July 14, 2020 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
