DRAWS & MATCH TENNIS APP PRE-TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
It looks as if the rain will be gone in plenty of time for us to begin doubles play tomorrow afternoon! The draws are now published. All player selections and seeding for events used the USTA/North Carolina Standings List from 11/3/2020.
ALL PLAYERS MUST PRE-REGISTER with MATCH TENNIS APP by Friday at noon or be subject to being withdrawn from the tournament. MATCH TENNIS APP (MTA) is how players will check-in for their match, receive their court assignment and report their scores. MTA is also the ONLY way you will receive important tournament communications.

PLAYER SELECTIONS & DOUBLES
Player selections have been completed for singles and doubles registrations. There is an Alternate List for Boys 12s and Boys 14s Singles. The Boys 12s Doubles is also full with an Alternate List.
Players who did not register for doubles but would still like to play may do so until Wednesday at noon (with the exception of Boys 12s which is full with an alternate list). Open spots in the doubles draws will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis for the rest of the registration period. You must register with a partner. That partner does not have to already be registered for singles in the tournament. If you wish to still register for doubles, you must do so by sending an email to info@carolina10s.com.
Play will begin for doubles on Friday at 4:30pm at Blakeney Racquet Club and Jeff Adams Tennis Center. THERE IS NO OPTION OF GOING TO INDOOR COURTS FOR DOUBLES IF WE HAVE INCLEMENT WEATHER.
SINGLES MAY BE PLAYED INDOORS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO PLAY INDOORS, YOU MUST OBJECT PRIOR TO FRIDAY AT NOON BY SENDING AN EMAIL TO INFO@CAROLINA10S.COM.

IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT INFO - Blakeney Fall Junior Open NC Level 3
This tournament is a USTA/North Carolina Level 3 event. It is also a USTA/Southern Level 4 and 2021 USTA National Level 6 tournament.
Other Information - Tournament Deadline is THURSDAY, November 5th at midnight. - All singles matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday. Draws will be posted on Wednesday evening. - Scoring will the best 2-of-3 tiebreak sets with a match tiebreaker in lieu of a full third set with regular scoring. - The November 3, 2020 USTA/North Carolina Standings List is the list used for selections and seedings for the event. - Singles draws will be a Feed-In Consolation through the Quarterfinals with a 3rd/4th Place Playoff. The Consolation Finals will not be played out. The tournament will accept 32 players for each singles draw. Players will be placed into two equal 16-player draws using the standard waterfall procedure. - The tournament will also offer an 8-team doubles draw in BG 12-18s in a single elimination format. The scoring format will be one 8-game pro set with no-ad scoring. All doubles matches will be played on Friday evening beginning at 4pm. Players must enter the same age division in which they enter singles. Only players who are registered and selected for singles will be eligible to be selected for the doubles draw. - Per COVID policies, players should bring their own chairs, scoring devices and water. Scoring devices will not be placed on courts and water will not be available. - Lateness penalties will be enforced. - Players are responsible for knowing their match times and locations through the use of the Match Tennis App and TennisLink.

October, 2020 Jr Tournament Update from USTA North
Carolina:
Thank you for your interest in participating in this junior USTA
North Carolina tournament. During this time of Phase 2.5 of the
COVID public health crisis, our Junior Competition Committee has
agreed on the following formats and scoring for our junior ranked
tournaments. Until further notice, our tournaments will adhere to
the following:
� Singles only, indoor back-up facilities may be utilized for
singles only.
� There is no "tournament desk" other than the MatchTennisApp
Virtual Tournament Desk (VTD). If the tournament staff has an area
visible/accessible to players, there is to be no congregating,
check-ins, or reporting of scores in this area. Any approaches to
this area must be by request and all parties will be required to
wear a mask and keep a minimum of 6-feet social distancing.
� Tournament staff designates Player A and Player B on-court rest
spots
� Staff leaves tennis balls on court prior to match start (2nd can
if requested by player family)
� Bench/seats removed or blocked off if on courts
� Score tenders (recommended for 10s & 12s especially), if
utilized by only 1 player and sanitized after each match
� No player gifts/hospitality will be made available;
� Awards/trophies may be awarded at State Championships for
finalist and champion. Winner recognition may be updated via social
media/certificates/mailed awards determined independently by each
tournament.
� Masks worn by visitors/tournament staff, enforced by
facility
� Facility may control number of visitors and posts on tournament
home page
� TD to determine entry of out-of-state players; if not accepting,
will designate as "closed" event by state office.
� As of September 18, regular scoring) may be used and tournaments
will NOT be required to utilize the timed match format.
o Regular scoring is best of 3 tie break sets, match TB in lieu of
3rd, with ad scoring; short sets for 10U and inclement weather,
with no-ad option.
� The tournament may require that each player has only (1)
parent/chaperone accompanying in order to minimize risk
� All visitors/spectators/staff will be required to wear a
mask.
� Play priority will be given to NC players; out-of-state players
will be selected at the discretion of the Tournament
Director/Facility
All players must utilize the MATCH TENNIS APP for the tournament.
This is how the Tournament Director (TD) will manage the players on
and off the court, receive the player waiver, and receive scores.
Each Tournament home page has a specific Promo Code to use so that
the Match Tennis App/Virtual Tournament Desk is FREE OF CHARGE.
Please be sure to utilize this in advance of the tournament. Play
will not be allowed without the waiver completion that is on the
MatchTennis App.
It is MANDATORY that each player utilizes the pre-tournament waiver
completion and check-in on MatchTennisApp. This should be completed
by 12noon the day before the start of the tournament.
Singles Format (No Doubles or Indoor court usage at this
time):
� Formats:
o NC L4s & L5s: 8-draw (FICQ/Compass/RR); number of entrants
selected based on facility allowance and in consult with NCTA
staff; Every division will start and complete in one day, with
formats that maximize 3-4 rounds of play when possible;
o L4s, best of 3 sets, regular ad scoring, TB in lieu of 3rd;
L5s back to 2020 original formats, short sets, no-ad scoring,
compass/RR formats
o NC L3 and higher to be 2-3 days in duration (potentially
requiring overnight stays); may utilize 16-player draws regular
scoring, best of 3 tie-break sets to 6, match TB in lieu of 3rd set
in both main and back draws.
o 5-player round robins may utilize short set scoring, sets of 3
with match TB to 10 in lieu of 3rd set. TD decision to play with ad
or no ad.
� All 10U matches will utilize short sets to 4, win by 2, 9-point
tie breaker at 4-4. 7-point Match tiebreaker in lieu of 3rd
set
o 5-player 10U round robins will play 1 pro-set to 6, set tie break
to 7 points at 5-5 game score.
� Players are to leave court, immediately following match,
depositing used tennis balls in designated depository upon
exit.
� Players report scores via MatchTennis App and refer to
appropriate draw sheet for next match
