Winter Open at GPS (TN L3/STA L5)

Matches will be played at Girls Preparatory School, 600, River Street, Chattanooga, Tn.37405. We have 4 indoor courts , although not heated, so layer up, and 8 outdoor courts. (GPS on the draw). We are also now using Chamoions Club, CC on the draw. 1096 Lupton Drive, Lupton City, Tn. 37351.


Boys Bathroom at GPS. Please use the urinals ONLY in the boys bathrooms. There is a portolet outside the indoor courts also. Thank you for your consideration.

Some round robins will not be finished if there are too many matches to play in a weekend.


We have moved many boys matches to Champions Club. Champions is CC on the draw. The address is 1096 Lupton Drive, Lupton City Tn 37351. It is 10 minutes from downtown. This will prevent us from getting backed up at GPS and also allow a better bathroom situation for boys than at GPS. We are having some construction done on our indoor tennis center and the mens bathroom is out- there is a changing area and a portolet. We can make the girls available some too. The seeding was done using Southern Standings on 2/24.We tried to separate siblings, people from the same town in the first round, and doubles partners.The weather is supposed to be good, but the mornings cool. Singles will be posted early afternoon. Just looking into a few extra courts!

Doubles will begin Saturday morning at 9:00am followed by singles. Doubles will be an 8 game pro set, no ad, tie break at 8-8. Singles will be 2 out of 3 sets, AD scoring. A match tie break will be played in lieu of the third set. 10's will play sets to 4, no ad, with a tie break at 4-4.
Singles will begin after the first round of doubles.

CHATTANOOGA is on Eastern Time.

Doubles partners: Please notify the tournament director BEFORE the deadline if you wish help finding a doubles partner. We cannot guarantee finding you a partner, but will be glad to try.

Players will receive a t shirt, lunch on Saturday, as well as snacks throughout the tournament.
Prizes will be for 1 and 2 in doubles . For singles 1 and 2 when less than 8 entrants, 1-4 for 9-12 entrants, and 1-5 for 13 or more. There is a 3/4 play off!!
There will be no refunds after the draw has been made. A 50% refund will be given after the deadline due to illness.

All downtown hotels are within 5 minutes of GPS.
Holiday Inn Express Hixson (423)877-6464 and Hampton Inn Hixson (423)877-3100 are both within 10 minutes and are close to Northgate mall.
These hotels are close to practice facilities.

There are 2 practice courts in Riverview Park, Riverview Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37405 - 5 mins from GPS.
Rivermont Park found at the entrance to Champions Club has several courts that are available. 3400 Lupton Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.

Please note that starting January 2020 USTA Southern’s Youth Progression has changed from offering 2 levels of Orange ball to only one level of Orange ball - Orange Level 1. Players will now start at Orange Level 1 and progress to Green Level 1 then to Mission Complete/Yellow Ball. Youth Progression point distribution has also changed.
