have received new information from USTA Nationals regarding the rest period in Short Set Splits, which will now allow us to have a 3- minute rest period. This adjustment will now allow players to receive coaching if split short sets occur this weekend.


For your reference:


Friend at Court Table 12 (Page 97) will allow a 3- minute rest period and refers to sanctioned USTA events.


Appendix V "Alternative Procedures and Scoring Methods" will only refer to sanctioned ITF tournaments.


This discrepancy in the regulations will be clarified in future publications.

Thank you for signing up for the L4 at Oak Tree Country Club. We look forward to hosting you. Below is some tournament information. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to email me.


Scoring Formats:


All main draw singles matches and the 3rd/4th playoff match will be best of 3 tiebreak sets with a 10 point tiebreak for the third set.


All consolation singles matches and the quarterfinal playoff matches are best of 3 short sets with a 7 point tiebreaker in lieu of the third. A 7 Point tiebreaker will be played at 4-4.



Sportsmanship: USTA Missouri Valley gives a sportsmanship award at this tournament. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to Tennis Warehouse. Players, parents and coaches are all encouraged to nominate players that demonstrate good sportsmanship. These nominations will be due to me by Monday at 10 am.



Practice Courts: Indoor practice courts will be available on Saturday beginning at 11 am, Sunday morning at 8 am, and Monday morning at 7 am. Players are expected to share these courts. No reservations may be made for warmup courts - they are first come, first serve. If you are coming on Friday and would like to reserve a court for Friday, you can call 405-341-3978.

Facility: We are excited to host you at Oak Tree Country Club. While here for the tournament, please feel free to use the Sports Center facilities and the restaurant at the main club as our guest. Any purchases you make must be paid for with a credit or debit card. Oak Tree is private club with member accounts and is not equipped to handle cash. Draws will be posted no later than noon on Tuesday, February 11th. Play is not allowed to begin before noon on Saturday. The mandatory match schedule is 2 main draw singles rounds on Saturday, 2 main draws singles and 3 consolation singles rounds on Sunday, and 1 main draw round and 2 consolation rounds on Monday.
