Top Gun Academy Championships -- Southern Level 3 (10U Green)

PLAYERS & SPECTATORS:
• Hand Sanitizer will be available at the check in desk
• Please limit your “posse” at the event. There is plenty of space at the outdoor courts as they are public parks. Please space out accordingly.
• Players will NOT shake hands at the end of the match – a simple racquet touch to acknowledge end of the match
• Only one player will turn the scorecards. Scorecards will be wiped down with disinfectant by the officials after each match
• Players and spectators will be encouraged to social distance from other groups as they are on site
• Masks will be required by players when they check in to the tournament desk
* Masks are required for spectators at the INDOOR facility - The Tennis Club at Springhurst. Not required at outdoor facilities.

Obviously everyone has seen the protests and unrest in Louisville on the news. We have had a lot of questions regarding the tournament due to these protests. Please be assured that these are happening downtown and in the Highlands/Bardstown Rd. area where the mayor lives. The tournament sites are in the East End and St. Matthews where there has been no activity regarding the protests. They are confined to certain areas. We will continue to monitor the situation and update everyone via the webpage.

If you are registering for doubles, please be prepared to start your doubles matches at 5:00pm on Friday. Not everyone will play on Friday, however we cannot predict whether you will or not. If you sign up for doubles you MUST be able to play on Friday evening. Depending on the draw sizes we may play two rounds of doubles on Friday night. Doubles will start first on Saturday and Sunday followed by singles.

Singles Draws will be 16 with a Full Feed In through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. All singles matches will be best of three sets playing a 10 point tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Doubles is single elimination with 6 game set with a set tiebreak at 6 all.
10 & under divisions play short set format with set tiebreak in lieu of third set.

The USTA Southern Section requires a signed release covering all entrants in USTA Southern Section events. The release must be signed by the entrant and parent or guardian of any entrant who is a minor.

Doubles will begin Friday September 25th at 5:00pm. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED WITH A PARTNER BY TUESDAY September 22nd at 6:00pm. PLAYERS MUST PLAY IN THE SAME AGE DIVISION IN DOUBLES AS SINGLES. NO EXCEPTION

There is no advance check in necessary for this tournament. Please report directly to your site at least 30 minutes prior to your first match time.

Seedings shall be done using only the results from the most recently publicized USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the lists.
Doubles Seeding: Teams shall be seeded in the order of their combined standings (e.g., Player A holds the #1 standing and Player B holds the #10 standing. The Team of A & B would have combined standing of 11.) Teams that have the same combined standing, the tie shall be broken by using the highest singles standing of the four players.

USRSA Certified Racquet Stringing will be available at Top Gun Academy. We have a wide variety of strings available. Cost with your own string for tournament participants is $15.00.

Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. They would be removed from the Alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

USTA Southern will provide selection list. Players will be selected directly from the USTA Southern Standing list in the age division in which they apply. Players will no longer be considered for selection based on their lower age division standings.
