We experienced some rain early this am and are in process of drying courts. All matches at VDM Tennis Center & Shipyard are on a 1 hour delay, so please report 1 hour from your original match time! Draws have not been updated with new times, so please report 1 hour from draw match time.

For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where social gathering is most common. We instead will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk to help facilitate CDC guidelines for social distancing. * When setting up your Match Tennis App account, all family members should sign in with the same username and password.
* Make sure you add three DIFFERENT contact numbers during the Pre Tournament Virtual Check-In THAT WILL BE ON during the tournament. They all should be cell numbers since messages will be in the form of texts. When you are called to court, all your contact phones will receive the message.
* If you need to add or change contact numbers go to “My Account” in Match Tennis App and click “Completed Waivers” to add or change contact numbers.

1. Due to updated USTA rules, only one can of balls will be used per match between the two players.
2. All players & spectators should please bring their own chairs to use during matches.Seating will NOT be provided to players or spectators.
3. Players and spectators should refrain from hanging out on-site when not competing. Please check in for your match 15 minutes before your scheduled match time, and depart the property promptly after submitting the match score on the Match-tournament app.
4. Masks are REQUIRED on-site at all times, whether inside or outside when not competing. If a player needs to leave the court to use the bathroom, a mask must be worn.This is a USTA rule due to Covid-19 and will be enforced by officials & the tournament director.
5. Water & ice will not be provided to players or spectators. Please be prepared to bring your own!! There will be water available for purchase in the Pro Shop at both the Van Der Meer Tennis Center & Van Der Meer Shipyard locations.
6. Score cards will not be used during matches. If you need assistance remembering the score, please bring a piece of paper & a pen to keep track.
7. Please bring your own hand sanitizer. We will have some on-site, but want to create a safe environment for everyone as best we can!


We ask that all competitors maintain a good social distance between others, and practice good protocol to wash hands frequently and sanitize often. Thank you for your co-operation with these rules, we want to run a safe event for everyone!!

This is a USTA Southern L4, South Carolina L2 tournament.
We are hosting BG10-18's singles & doubles.
Draws will be a FIRST MATCH LOSERS CONSOLATION only.
This is a 3 day tournament, beginning Friday November 6, and finishing on Sunday November 8.
Doubles will begin on Friday PM at 4pm, and Singles will start on Saturday AM.
Players are selected from the most recent USTA Southern Standings List.
Singles draws will be limited to 16 players, & doubles draws will be limited to 8 teams.
All main draw & consolation matches will best of three tiebreak sets, with a match tie-break in lieu of a third set.
Doubles will be an 8 game pro-set, no-ad scoring.

Van Der Meer Tennis Academy is offering a discounted rate to all tournament participants for sessions. Training sessions will be available all week at VDM. Morning practice sessions are from 10:00—noon Tuesday-Friday at $30 per session. Afternoon Sessions run from 3:00—6:00 at $40 per training session. For more information or to reserve a spot, please call 800-845-6138 EXT 115. Players should be at VDM Tennis Center (19 DeAllyon Avenue) at least 15 minutes before each session. LIMITED SPACES ARE AVAILABLE, YOU MUST CALL IN ADVANCE TO RESERVE A SPOT.

We are happy to announce that USTA South Carolina has approved for doubles to happen again, so we will be hosting doubles for this event! Please note that doubles draws will be limited to 8 teams, and will start on Friday on 4pm. If you wish to play doubles, be prepared to play on Friday!

Experienced stringing will be provided at the cost of $15 for labor. Our VDM Pro Shops carry Dunlop string. If you need another kind of string, please be prepared to bring it with you!

Practice courts are available first come, first serve at VDM Shipyard and VDM Tennis Center on match days beginning at 7am. Matches will start at 8am. Due to COVID, only 2 players are permitted to share a court at one time for warm-up. There will not be any further practice courts available once matches have started.

Tournament selections will be done based on the most recent USTA Southern Combined Standings List. Seeding shall be done using the same list, in the order in which players appear on the list.

If you wish to be a "late entry" please remember you will be placed at the bottom of the alternate list (regardless of ranking). If selected for the event the late entry will pay the entry fee plus a $25 late fee. If you wish to be added please email (katie@vdmtennis.com) the following:

Boys & Girls 12 & 14 age divisions will play on Clay Courts at VDM Shipyard. 116 Shipyard Drive, Hilton Head Island, 29928.
Boys & Girls 16 & 18 divisions will play on Hard Courts at VDM Tennis Center. 19 DeAllyon Ave. Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.

During hours of play:
You must get approval from the Head Referee. The Head Referee will be located at VDM Tennis Center (19 DeAllyon Ave, Hilton Head, 29928) location. Please then email the tournament director (katie@vdmtennis.com) with your withdrawal. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE.
AFTER PLAY HAS ENDED FOR THE DAY :
If you become ill or injured (or personal emergency) after play has ended for the day, email your detailed withdrawal to the tournament director (katie@vdmtennis.com)
CHECK DRAWS NIGHTLY FOR CHANGES:

Please be aware this tournament has two 10 & Under Youth Progression divisions. ORANGE BALL DIVISION AND GREEN BALL DIVISION. This means that in order to play in a 10 & Under division, you must be eligible for that corresponding level. Scoring format as follows: 2 out of 3 short sets using NO AD scoring, first to 4 games (win by 2). A 7 point tiebreak is played if players reach 4 all. If players split sets then a 7 point tiebreak is played for the 3rd set (win by 2). THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2nd AND 3rd SET BREAK IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS. Doubles will be a 6 game pro set.

All parents are encouraged complete the "Parenting My Champion" sportsmanship video before their player participates in this level tournament.

10 & Under Youth Progression Eligibility

Tournament/Match Check In
BRING YOUR MEDICAL FORM TO CHECK-IN
Please check-in for the tournament 30 min. early. Tournament check-in will be available beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. Please check into your site of play. If you are not scheduled to play Friday, the check-in is not mandatory, only check in at least 30 min. prior to your first match.

Seeding Criteria
The most current USTA Southern Standing List will be used for seeding purposes.

Withdrawals
Withdrawing During The Tournament
If you need to withdrawal during the tournament for any reason(medical or otherwise) please inform the tournament director and/or referee. If you are ill and cannot make it to withdrawal in person, please send a detailed email to the tournament director. No-shows will receive suspension points.
Withdrawing Before Entry Deadline:All withdrawals must be made online(not by email) before the entry deadline. Follow the instructions on the USTA Tennislink page. We are not able to withdrawal you on our end before the deadline.
Withdrawing After Entry Deadline:Once the deadline has passed, the online withdrawal system closes. Email your withdrawal to the director including your USTA# and reason for withdrawal. Please note, if the draw has been made it will be scored as a default. *No refunds will be issued after the online entry deadline.

Important Doubles Instruction
If you wish to play doubles and did not sign up with a partner, partners must be declared by Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. via email. Once you find a partner, please email the director your name, your partner's name, and division entering and he will pair you. If you do not find a partner, we may randomly pair you with someone.

Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, November 4, 2019 11:59 PM (Eastern Time). Only USTA members can register online if available.
