tournaments that Clark Hancock has created and ran for the last 20
years. The City of St. George is committed to keep the tradition alive
and to continue to run world class tennis tournaments.

Ace to the Points
St. George Tennis is excited to announce a point challenge system called
"Ace to the Points". At the end of the 2020 St. George Tennis
Tournament Series season we will be awarding two $500 Tennis Warehouse
gift cards to one female and one male player who has accumulated the
most points in the 2020 season. Other prizes will also be awarded to
the top 5 finishers for male and female players.
Tournament Point Breakdown:
Singles: 50 points / Registration *8 teams or more *40 points / Winning your division *30 points / Reaching the finals *20 points / Reaching the semi finals *25 points / Unseeded player winning against a top 4 seeded player
Doubles: 75 points / Registration *4 teams or more / Points per player *50 points / Winning your division *40 points / Reaching the finals
Out of town points:
25 points / Traveling more than 100 miles

The first 16 players from both the "Applicant" and the "Competitor" list will be in the main draw. The "Applicant" and "Competitor" list will be combined to make the first 16 players. PLEASE CHECK THE COMPETITOR LIST!
Players may have to show their verification of registration. Please note that some players are awarded a scholarship and are placed on the "competitor list" and may not be on the "applicant list"

Alternate Bracket
The first 16 players will be on the main draw. Each player after 16 will be placed on the "Alternative List" then will be placed into a Alternative bracket where they will still receive 3 matches, tournament swag, Ace to the Points and valuable match experience.
They will not however receive any USTA points from the tournament.
Players wishing to withdraw, will need to contact the tournament director and notify him/her, otherwise TD will assume player wants to play on the "Alternative Bracket".
Format for "Alternate Brackets" will depend on the size of the bracket.

Match Times
Singles: Matches will be played from 8am to 4pm each day. Please check the draws for updated match times.
Doubles: Doubles will be played from 5pm to 9pm Locations will be posted on the draw.

TBA St. George City tennis tournaments will always have a USTA umpire for the last day of matches as long as one is available.

Scoring
10's / Orange & Green / Singles & Doubles Best 3 short sets, first to 4 games (win by two). No-Ad Scoring. If the score reaches 4-4 in the first two sets players will play a 7 point tiebreaker. A 7 point tie breaker will be played in lieu of a third set. Singles: All other divisions Scoring will be best 2-of-3 sets, 10 point tie breaker in lieu of 3rd set Doubles: Scoring will play 8-game pro sets with a 10-point
tie-breaker at 8-8. There will be consolation in doubles. When
applicable, a round robin will be scored first by head-to-head win % and
then by set win %.

Spectator Conduct Policy / Zero Tolerance Policy
The City of St. George Tennis Tournament Series has a strict "Zero
Tolerance Policy" Players, parents and spectators are expected to
uphold the integrity of this great game of tennis.
Site
Directors are instructed to observe unsportsmanlike behavior from
players, parents and spectators and report it to the tournament
director. If a violation has occurred players, parents and spectators
need to report it immediately to the site director.
We
will not tolerate unsportsmanlike behavior, such as: taunting,
dishonesty, throwing your racket, bullying, receipt of coaching, verbal
abuse, failure to follow instructions from "site director' or
"tournament director", or any other conduct that is abusive or
detrimental to the game of tennis.
We want to
ensure the best possible experience for all players, parents and
spectators. Please help us continue to make St. George Tennis
Tournament Series the best tournaments in Southern Utah.
SPECTATOR PERSONAL
CONDUCT POLICY
As a
spectator of a participant in USTA-sanctioned tennis tournament in the Utah District, you are
under a “duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair
play, and good sportsman ship.” USTA
Regulation IV.C(1).
In
addition, you are “under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered
detrimental to the game of tennis.”
USTA Regulation IV.C(1).
In all
Utah District tennis tournaments, the following acts are prohibited before,
during, and after each match, engagement in such actions, will be subject to
the penalties listed below.
1. Addressing
an opponent in a negative manner, including any references to the opponent’s
line calls, behavior, or anything else.
2. Addressing the parent or other representative of a
junior opponent, or an adult players
spectator, in a negative manner.
3. Addressing
an official, tournament director or tournament representative in a negative
manner. 4. Coaching
during a match except as permitted by the USTA Rules.
5. Otherwise
engaging in any abusive conduct that is detrimental to the game of tennis.
Engaging in any of these prohibited
acts, will cause a grievance to be submitted to the UTA Grievance Committee for
review and spectator will be subject to the following ‘MINIMUM’ penalties:
1. First
Offense: Banned from attending the next
Utah District Sanctioned Event the player you were watching enters (this could
be extended to include leagues and or tournaments entered by additional family
member players).
2. Second
Offense: Banned from attending the next three Utah District Sanctioned Events the
player you were watching enters (this could be extended to include leagues and
or tournaments entered by additional family member players). 3. Third
Offense: Banned from attending any Utah
District Sanctioned Events for a calendar year from the date of the Third
Offense.
In addition, the following acts
are prohibited for players and spectators:
1. Visible or audible profanity or obscenity.
2. Abuse
of racquet, balls, or equipment.
3. Verbal
abuse of a player or official.
4. Receipt
of coaching.
5. Failure
to follow the instructions of an official.
6. Any
other conduct that is abusive or detrimental to the game of tennis.

Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Friday, February 28, 2020 11:59:00 PM Mountain Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
