COVID-19 Safety Precautions
Our priority will be in making sure players, tournament staff, volunteers, and officials stay safe. The following procedures will be in place at all District Championship event sites as player, spectator, tournament staff, and Official safety is of the utmost importance. * Each player will be given 2 balls to be hand-marked or sorted by tournament staff * Players should arrive no more than 10 minutes before scheduled match times; and leave immediately after scores are reported * To minimize the size of group gatherings, ONLY Player and 1 spectator (coach or parent) will be allowed on site; additional spectators can wait in parked vehicles but will not be allowed courtside, at the tournament desk, or in any indoor or outdoor areas at the tournament sites. One Player and one Guest pass will be provided at the tourney desk. * Hand sanitizer will be available at tournament desk; sanitizing wipes will be used on high touch areas like door handles * Players and spectators should bring their own cooler or lawn chairs to sit on as benches/bleachers may not be available * Players must bring their own water bottles/containers; water may not be available * Tournament staff will enforce 6-foot social distancing for all spectators and each spectator must stay at least 6-feet from the fence at all times * Players must wear masks when approaching the tournament desk until they reach their courts * Spectators must wear masks at all times on tournament site, except for when watching their player, 6-feet from any other spectator; at all times if event moves indoors * USTA Officials will monitor all District Championship events * Failure to comply with the COVID-19 Tournament Procedures, by the player or spectator, will result in Tournament Disqualification for the player

players only. Players MUST complete the USTA Midwest waiver form found in the
attached link prior to player selection date. If tournament director does not
have your completed waiver by midnight,
July 19, 2020, you risk not being selected

NOTE: The Chicago District Championships DO NOT replace the Chicago District Qualifiers canceled due to COVID-19.
These Championships are a way for the CDTA
to offer Level 3 events closed to Chicago District players only. The
Championships DO NOT determine qualifiers for the Midwest Closed events being
held in November.

Notes
PLAYERS PLEASE NOTE
_For this year's Chicago District Championship events, players may
compete in only one age group. If a player enters 2 age groups,
her/his entry will be accepted ONLY into the oldest age group for
which he/she registered.
GENERAL
_This is a Chicago District and Midwest Section Level 3 event with
a limited draw of 64 in each age group. These Level 3 events will
offer singles play only with a Feed-In Consolation draw through the
consolation quarterfinals. To clarify, no feed-in quarter-final
consolation, semi-final consolation or final consolation matches
will be played. Awards will be presented to the first through
fourth-place finishers. All players will receive a signature
District Championship gift.
ENTRY DEADLINE
_Tournament entry is by TennisLink only. The entry deadline is
Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 11:59pm. When entering this event on-line,
you must list your current phone numbers and e-mail information in
the space provided. Be sure to print out your confirmation number
after completing the entry. You can check your entry status in the
applicant area of the tournament site.
_SEEDING
_Seeds will be selected using Universal Tennis Rating (UTR).
_LATE ENTRIES
_Late entries will ONLY be accepted by email to the Tournament
Director of the division.
_If an alternate list exists, the late entries will be placed at
the bottom of the alternate list in the order of which their email
was received by the Tournament Director. Otherwise, the late
entries will be placed directly onto the competitor's list in the
order that their email was received by the Tournament
Director.
_NOTE: Once the seeds and draws are created, any late entry players
on the alternate list that would be seeded will be removed because
they would invalidate the draw and seeding (USTA Regulation
I.H.3).
_PLAYER SELECTION CRITERIA
_The following selection criteria will be used for the BG14, 16, 18
divisions: 1. Eight (8) players from the top 100 of the most
current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the next lower age
division. 2. Fifty-six (56) players from the most current
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the current age division of
the event. Remaining vacancies and/or alternates will be selected
from the USTA/Midwest Standing List in the division of the
event.
_ALTERNATES
_Alternates will be posted in order and will be notified if a space
becomes available.
_CONFLICTS
_Players must be available to play at all times during the
tournament. Conflicts must be submitted in writing and received by
the Tournament Director by July 19, 2020.
_PLAY SITE
_Location: _The tournament will be held OUTDOORS at XS
Tennis, 5336 S State Street, Chicago, IL 60609. In case of rain,
matches will be moved indoors at XS.
SCORING FORMAT
_Most play is scheduled to start on Friday afternoon. Main draw is
2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring, with a feed-in consolation draw
through the consolation quarterfinals. A Match Tie Break in lieu of
a 3rd set will be used in the consolation rounds. The consolation
draw will be played only up to the quarterfinal round. Defaults,
withdraws, walkover & retirements are considered matches played
and wins for the advancing player, but do not meet the "play and
complete" requirement for the losing player.
_ELECTRONIC DEVICE: _Players cannot access any electronic
devices during the match except during an off court split set
break.
_START TIMES
_ Tentative schedule: Start times will be Fri after 12PM, Sat after
8AM, Sun after 8AM and Mon after 3PM.
_First match times will be published above in the Future Match Info
Report. Subsequent match times will be given at the tournament
desk.
_RAIN PROCEDURES
_Players should report to their proper site at the designated match
time unless (1) you receive instructions from the Site
Director/Tournament Director, or (2) a rain update on this site has
specific instructions. A short period of rain may delay matches but
will not automatically move matches indoors. Please be patient with
the tournament staff as they work through any rain or other
delays.
_DRESS CODE
_Proper tennis attire is required. No matter how professional
players are attired, we will be enforcing the following
regulations. Clothing NOT considered proper tennis attire can
include, but not be limited to: - Sports bras worn alone (without a
shirt) - Shirts with reference to sex, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or
violence. - Compression shorts worn alone (not covered by shorts or
a skirt). - Girls tops must cover midriff when arms are at rest. -
Boys: no tank tops or cutoff t-shirts.
_No Appeals of the Play and Complete Requirement are
permitted_.
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
