12s and 14s DIVISIONS:
First round: 8 am at BARNES TENNIS CENTER


16s and 18s DIVISIONS:
First round: 8 am at BALBOA TENNIS CLUB


Matches will begin with mixed doubles, immediately followed by boys singles, then girls singles (Saturday). Girls will start the singles matches on Sunday.

I have been informed that there is a Cross Country meet in the Balboa Park area on Saturday, December 14th. Parking will be limited! Please arrive early, or use a RideShare app (Uber, Lyft) to avoid parking issues/traffic!

ALL MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED TO COMPLETION.

Warm up courts will be available at Balboa Tennis Club and Barnes Tennis Center around 7:15 am. Players are encouraged to warm up at satellite sites, or before traveling to the tournament. Satellite sites in the area include:

Director of Junior Tennis Trevor Kronemann will be leading a Town Hall Meeting on Sunday, December 15th at noon at Barnes Tennis Center! We will be discussing the tournament structure changes coming to junior tennis in Southern California in 2021. There will be a Q&A session to follow, lunch will be provided. Players and parents welcome. Hope to see you there!

Welcome to the new Dynamic Duo junior tournament! This is a Mixed Doubles AND singles tournament, with teams consisting of one boy and one girl. Each round will consist of one (1) mixed doubles match, and one (1) singles match, per player (two singles matches total per team). This is a First Round Consolation Draw event. Each team is guaranteed to play two rounds (four matches).

Mixed doubles matches will begin at 8 am on Saturday, followed by singles.

First round matches will start at 8 am on Saturday. Every round will begin with mixed doubles. Mixed doubles will begin at 8 am, immediately followed by boys singles around 9 am. Girls singles will follow immediately after boys singles. The second round will begin at 1 pm, starting with mixed doubles, then boys singles, then girls singles.


Matches will start at 8 am on Sunday, beginning with mixed doubles. Girls singles will be first (followed by girls singles) for both rounds on this day. The final round will begin at 1 pm on Sunday.


Due to the "followed by" format of this event, please have snacks/beverages/lunches prepared when you arrive at your site. There are restaurants close to each site so you have options if you need to go off-site, but matches will be going on court fairly quickly, so it is highly recommended that you have food available at the start of the day.

Draws will be posted online 3 days before the tournament starts. Only mixed doubles draws will be posted online, all draws will be posted and updated at every site for players and parents to follow.

For this event, players will receive Level 3 team ranking points, as well as bonus points for the semifinal and final teams. The Level 3 team tournament points table can be found here: http://socaljuniortennis.com/assets/2018-scta-pprtables2.pdf

Bonus points will be awarded toward the players' singles rankings.

Bonus Points for Team Finish (in addition to points won per round)
1st Place: 200 points
2nd Place: 100 points
Semifinalist: 50 points more info

Selection will be based on the SoCal Standings list (rankings). We will be using the players' combined singles rankings, not mixed doubles rankings. The top 16 players will be selected, anyone who is not selected will be placed on the alternate list. SEEDINGS will be based on UTR ratings.

Mixed doubles matches will be one regular, 6-game set, tiebreak at 5-5. The format for singles matches will be 2/3 tiebreak sets, with a 10-pt tiebreak in lieu of a third set. ALL MATCHES WILL BE NO-AD SCORING.

*Players must play the tournament to completion in order to receive ranking points
*Players must be ready to play singles matches immediately following mixed doubles
*All matches will have no-ad scoring: for mixed doubles, at deuce, serving must be gender-to-gender

Every player will receive a commemorative tournament t-shirt.

We will be accepting on-site alternate for this event. Please check the site where your age division is playing, and sign in at that site with your partner before 7:30 am. Alternates will be entered into the draw if a spot becomes available (first round only).

We will be using Wilson Extra Duty balls for this event.
