Main Draw Singles - Best two of three sets with a 10-point Match Tie Break in lieu of a full 3rd Set. 7-point Set Tie Break at 6-6. Regular Ad-scoring. Consolation Singles - 8-game Pro Set with a 7-point Set Tie Break at 8-8. Regular Ad-scoring.

This tournament will be SINGLES only; BG12-18. 10U Singles & Doubles, BG 12-18 Doubles and Mixed Doubles will not be offered.

USTA Playing Tennis Safely -- COVID-19 Recommendations
- Try to stay at least six feet
apart from other players. - Wash your hands thoroughly
or use a hand sanitizer before,
during, and after play. - Do not make physical contact with them
(such as shaking hands or a high five). - Between points, use your
racquet and foot to pick up balls
and hit them to your opponent.
Avoid using your hands also when
returning balls to another court. - Maintain physical distancing
if changing ends
of the court. - Avoid touching your face after
handling a ball, racquet or
other equipment. - Use only your own towels
and water bottles. Clean and wipe down your
equipment, including racquets
and water bottles.

HOUSING: Housing is available for a nominal fee on campus at South Dakota State University just a couple blocks away from Hillcrest Courts, the tournament site. 12U GREEN BALL: Starting September 26, 2013 all boys and girls Level 6 12's events will use a green low compression tennis ball.

LEVEL 6's: This tournament is open, meaning no points are required and there is no draw limit. All players that register will be selected. Seeding will be based on the most current standings/rankings list after entries close.
This tournament has a two-event limit. Players can choose to play either 1 singles event and 1 doubles event, or they can play 1 gender doubles event and 1 mixed doubles event.

TOURNAMENT LOCATION: The Brookings Junior Open is held at the city tennis courts in Hillcrest Park at 6th St. & 17th Ave. There are four parking lots throughout the park and on street parking is also available. Please plan extra time to find a parking spot as there are multiple events being held in the park this weekend. Public restrooms and drinking water are available on site.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS & PARTICIPATION WAIVER: The Tournament Committee reserves the right to combine, delete and/or alter the format type of any event at any time. The Computerized List Method of seeding will be used (USTA Regulation II.A.6). There will be no refund of registration fees after the draws have been posted. All first round matches will be played at Hillcrest Courts. Depending on court availability, consolation matches may be played at a secondary site. Registration in tournament equates a signature of understanding of these rules and regulations and releases the Brookings Tennis Club and it's affiliates of any liability.

SCHEDULING & AVOIDANCE REQUESTS: Players should be available for every day of scheduled play (USTA Regulation IV.C.12-17). Failure to do so may result in suspension under the USTA Junior Suspension Point System (see Table 18, FAC). Players wishing to submit an avoidance request must do so in writing via email (see contact info above) prior to the registration deadline. No requests will be accepted after the registration deadline except to withdraw from an event or the entire tournament. The Tournament Committee will make every effort to honor avoidance requests; however, there is no guarantee or obligation.

10U STARS & TROPHIES GREEN BALL PROGRESSION - This tournament has been tagged for 10U Stars & Trophies Green ball progression - players that have passed through 10U Orange Ball may register for the 12U Green Ball division.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 5, 2020 9:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
