Beginning with the Round of 32 all Main Draw matches will be two tiebreak sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set. USTA Southern has confirmed this scoring format for the remainder of the tournament.

Sunday September6-8:35 am EDT on the FCAT Tennis FB page LIVE Virtual- all players, parents, coaches, and friends invited/welcome.

1. Use MatchTenisApp "PLAYER CHECK-IN" 15 - 30 minutes before your match. Do not check-in any earlier than this time. If you check-in late you, will be penalized per USTA FAC.
2. When your match is called...go directly to your court (THERE IS NO TOURNAMENT DESK)
3. Match balls - 1 can of balls will be provided (on court) and a 2nd can if you split sets. The balls are yours to keep after the match and can be used as extra balls for subsequent matches. We will not provide used balls.
4. Players will be given a gift bag, which will be on the court.(whiteboard & marker enclosed)
5. Players will use the whiteboard to write down their scores during each match to show umpires & keep up with score.
6. Please bring your own Ice and (we do have refill stations if needed). Volunteers will assist at a safe distance.
7. After the match and before you leave the court, report your scores via the TennisMatchApp link sent to your cellphone. Please gather your trash and take with you when you leave the court and the facility. We will be sanitizing and prepping courts for the next matches.
8. Practice courts will be available early in the morning - 7:00 am - 7:30 am as they will be sanitized for matches beginning at 7:30 am. We will post a list of 8:00 am court assignments and you should hit on your assigned court and then groom the court before your match.
9. Spectators of players should bring your own chairs to watch matches...bleachers will be blocked off.

For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where social gathering is most common. We instead will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk to help facilitate CDC guidelines for social distancing. 1. When setting up your Match Tennis App account, all family members should sign in with the same username and password.
2. Make sure you opt for allowing notifications so court assignment messages are received.
3. In the contact information section, make sure you add up to three cell phone numbers THAT WILL BE ON during the tournament. When you are called to court, all the cell phone numbers that you listed will receive a text message.
4. If you need to add or change cell phone numbers go to “My Account” in Match Tennis App and click “Completed Waivers” to add or change numbers.

Practice Courts Friday Availability- Call Cooper Creek Tennis Center 706-225-4186. Court cost is $2.50. Limit your time if others are waiting. Facility closes at 8:00pm. Leave bags off the court, outside the gate. Do not sit on benches
During Tournament- Hard Courts 1-4 from 7am - 7pm. Clay Courts 1-4 will be available 1:00pm - 7:00pm. Protocol: No bags allowed on court, No sitting on benches. Groom all clay courts when you come off.

Southern has a new requirement for all Southern Level 1, 1A, and 2’s. All tournaments must require players (when not on court) coaches, parents, tournament staff and officials, to wear face masks at all times when inside or outside of the tennis facility. This is not a guideline - it is a requirement. If you are not in compliance, you will be asked to leave the facility or be defaulted from the tournament.

In response to the COVID-19, we will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk technology to help facilitate CDC best practices.

Doubles is not being offered in order to follow USTA and Southern guidelines for player safety. Please do not sign up for doubles. Players who already registered for doubles will not be charged.

We look forward to you participating in the tournament. We will be using USTA guidelines and taking extra precautions to offer a safe environment.
1. Make sure you are using Match Tennis App (Pre-tournament Check-in, Match Check-in, Court Assignments and Score Reporting)
2. If you do not feel comfortable playing tennis – DO NOT PLAY.
3. If you are sick with ANY symptoms at all – DO NOT ATTEND OR PLAY A MATCH.

Singles Only

Must be a resident of USTA Southern. This is defined as individuals who have established a legal residency in one of nine states of USTA Southern whose geographical boundaries are determined by USTA Southern. Legal residency for juniors is that of his/her legal supporting parent(s). Individuals must be United States citizens or permanent resident aliens. more info

USTA Southern office will provide the tournament director with a Selection List for the tournament. These are the results from the most recently publicized USTA Southern Combined Standing Lists in order in which the player appears on the list. These lists are usually sent one or two days after entries close.

Registration closes Sunday, August 23, 2020 11:59 PM (Eastern Time)

After registration closes ...To enter send an email to: linda@corta.org. Late entries will be processed on a first come - first serve basis.Late entries that effect the seeding are NOT allowed. Please include the player's name, age division and USTA # with request.Please call the CORTA office at 706-317-4136 to give payment information.

Late entries may be accepted or placed on the alternate list in the order received after entries received by the deadline. Entries received at the same time are ordered randomly. If the draw has been made the Tournament Committee may accept only late entries of players who do not invalidate the seeding. A fee of $25.00 will be charged for Late Entries.

Alternate’s List: The alternate list will be updated daily after selections are made. Once posted, it will be listed above - "Alternate by Event" list. If you plan to enter another tournament, you must first e-mail the Tournament Director to take your name off the alternate list.
On Site Alternates must register at their age group's tournament site. You must inform the Tournament Referee by Friday (8/28) night or before that you plan to be an On-Site Alternate. Please make sure we have accurate contact information for you to be reached during the weekend. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. On Site Alternates should be on-site when their age and gender check in for play 30 minutes prior to the first match in the first round (or 2nd round if there are Byes).

WITHDRAWALS PRIOR TO ENTRY DEADLINE
If you have entered and wish to withdraw prior to the entry deadline, please go to the tournament web page and click on Edit Registration. You will need your confirmation number that you received in your confirmation e-mail to complete the withdrawal process.
WITHDRAWALS AFTER SELECTION & DURING TOURNAMENT
A player shall not enter a tournament and then withdraw when the player discovers that tough opponents have also entered. A player may withdraw from a match or tournament only because of injury, illness, or personal circumstance; written verification must be provided. A player who cannot play a match shall notify the Referee in writing (NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED) immediately so that the opponent may be notified at once and saved a trip. No refunds for any reason for withdrawals after the deadline.

Seeding shall be done using only the results from the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.

Draws will be posted on Thursday, September 3rd by 5:00 pm (barring any last minute withdrawals). Draws will be visible on line, ONLY.

128 draw for both singles divisions with Feed-In (FIC) through the Round of 16 with Quarterfinal playoff. In 1A Championships, the quarterfinal losers automatically go into their own back draw. The four losers will play and then the two winners for 5th & 6th place. The 7th & 8th place do not play. A 3/4 playoff will be played for losers in the semifinal round.

Singles
Main Draw - Best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets, regular scoring.
Consolation - 2 tiebreak sets, with 10-pt match tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set.

Matches will be held at Cooper Creek Tennis Center
Cooper Creek Tennis Center (Main Site) is located at 5050 Cooper Creek Parkway, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Cooper Creek Tennis Center is a public facility with 39 clay courts; 12 hard court and 4 60' Quickstart courts. There are walking and bike paths on site.
Directions to Cooper Creek Tennis Center from I-185: Take I-185 S to Exit 7 (Manchester Expressway). Turn east onto Manchester Expressway. Travel approximately 2 miles to the Warm Springs Road Connector. Travel up the exit ramp and turn right. The entrance to Cooper Creek Park is directly ahead. Tournament check-in desk will be on the left side of the road at the annex building.

The Athletic Trainer will be on site 1/2 hour prior to the start of play each day. If you have an injury or illness, we strongly suggest you see the trainer. If you need to withdraw due to injury or illness, written confirmation can be provided by the trainer. Without confirmation, or a written doctors excuse by the end of the tournament, you may incur suspension points for leaving. Remember if you withdraw during the tournament, you must see the Head Referee in person or it will count as a "No Show."
