Your draws are now available. A COUPLE THINGS ABOUT YOUR DRAWS: ANY SINGLES DRAWS 23 OR LESS PLAYERS ARE A QUARTERFINAL FEED=IN CONSOLATION DRAW. ANY SINGLES DRAWS 24 OR MORE PLAYERS ARE ROUND OF 16 FEED-IN CONSOLATION. THE ROUND OF 16 CONSO DRAWS WILL ONLY GET TO THE FINALS ON THE CONSOLATION. THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE FOR A FEW PLAYERS IN THOSE DRAWS IN THE CONSOLATION TO POTENTIALLY HAVE THREE MATCHES ON SUNDAY. SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS AT TOURNAMENTS
While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone should wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

FACILITY/SAFETY PROCEDURES
Due to the ongoing
concerns of COVID-19, tournaments and the people who participate in them will
need to follow the Arkansas Department of Health’s Directive for Community and
School Sponsored Team Sports. Please click
on the link above to view the State’s Directives.
This
includes:
·
Face coverings are required for all persons
present, except for children under 10 years of age, who are exempt. For outdoor
venues, once attendees are seated and maintaining 6 feet physical distance from
others, face coverings may be removed. However, if moving around where social
distancing is not achievable, such as in food and beverage areas, or any area
where there is confinement such that 6 feet distancing cannot be maintained,
the face covering must be put back in place.

Athletes, Coaches, and Officials may be
without face covering during active play.
Facility Procedures
·
The tournament desk will be in the Burns Park
tournament building, but players will not be allowed in the room (only the TD,
trainer, Official on break, and the racquet stringer). The same applies to the tournament desk at Rebsamen Tennis Center.
·
The bathrooms will be open.
·
Bring your own ice and water.
·
People will not be allowed to sit on the
bleachers. Spectators must bring their
own chairs. There will be plenty of room
for them to do so. Players are expected
to bring no more than two people per match to the facility.
·
If we are to go into a rain delay, players will
be asked to go to their cars and report their current scores to the Tournament
Referee through text messaging.
Safety Procedures
·
Do NOT play if you have any symptoms of COVID-19
(see the CDC Guidelines on the link above),
or are not feeling well.
·
Social distancing (6 ft) is required at all
times.
·
Bring your own hand sanitizer.
·
Wash your hands before AND after play.
·
Bring your own equipment (this includes water
bottles, towels, or any other personal equipment that is stored inside of your
tennis bag).
·
Maintain a safe, physical distance between
yourself and your opponent during the racquet spin at the start of the match.
·
Maintain physical distancing if changing ends of
court.
·
Avoid touching the net, fences and gates as much
as possible.
·
If a ball comes onto your court, use your
racquet to send the ball back.
·
Clearly verbalize the score at the start of each
point.
·
After the match, do NOT shake hands—do a racquet
tap, nod, thumbs up or “good match”, then leave the court and go report scores
immediately.
·
Pick up your balls on court after the match and
return them to the tournament desk.

The block of rooms expires Monday, November 2 so please try and book before that date. TOURNAMENT SITES
The tournament will be held at two primary sites with a third site for overflow depending on number of entries: Rebsamen Tennis Center (Reb) - 1501 Leisure Place, Little Rock, AR 72204 (HOST SITE) Burns Park Tennis Center (BP) - 4000 Joe Poch Road, North Little Rock, AR 72118 Otter Creek Racquet Club (OC) will be used as a the overflow facility - 14000 Otter Creek Pkwy, Little Rock, AR 72210

PRACTICE COURTS
On Friday, all courts at Rebsamen Tennis Center are open for warm-up before doubles play begins. Courts are first come, first serve. No reservations are taken. Courts are free. After doubles begins, there will be two courts open for warm-up. First-come, first-serve as well. Please keep these warm-ups to 30 minutes and share courts. On Saturday-Monday, all courts are first come, first serve before matches begin at 8:00 AM. There will be two courts for warm-up at Rebsamen during the tournament (unless we have major weather issues) at all times. These are first come, first serve but please leave the warm-up time to 30 minutes and please share a court if necessary. After matches begin, there will be several courts available for warm-up at Burns Park. Just ask the tournament site director at the check-in desk which courts are available. There are a couple of city courts that are first come, first serve as well throughout the weekend. You can put Meriwether Park, Allsop Park, or Reservoir Park into your Maps on your phone and that'll get you there. There are two courts at each of these facilities. The courts aren't great but certainly good enough for a warm-up.

10'S GREEN DIVISION HAS BEEN ADDED TO THIS TOURNAMENT - 2/28 UPDATE
The Southern Tennis Association's Junior Competition Committee has voted to add boys and girls 10's green to this Southern Level 2. This is a great opportunity for those green ball players to get to play in a higher level Southern tournament!

SELECTION
USTA Southern will provide selection list. Players will be selected directly from the USTA Southern Standing list in the age division in which they apply.
|
SEEDING
Seeding shall follow the USTA Southern Section seeding regulations and will be provided by Southern with the selection list. SEEDS WILL NOT BE SHOWN UNTIL THE DRAW IS POSTED. SEEDING WILL BE BASED UPON THE LATEST AVAILABLE RANKING LIST.

FORMAT AND SCORING
Singles B/G 12’s-18's Main Draw & Consolation: Best of three tiebreak sets with a 10-point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. This is a change for the main draw of 14's - 18's. All matches will be a 10-point Match Tiebreak for the third set.
Doubles: 6-game set with a 7 point tiebreak at 6-all and regular ad-scoring. All doubles players must play in the same division as they do in singles.
64 Draw in Singles with a consolation to be determined based on the number of entries per division. Some draws will have a Curtis consolation. It will depend on size of draw. All others will have a feed-in consolation through the quarterfinals.
Doubles will consist of a 32 single elimination draw. A six game set with ad-scoring will be played with a 7 point tie break at 6 all. There will be a playoff for 3rd and 4th place in both singles and doubles.
10's division will be best two of three short sets to 4 (tiebreak at 4-4) with a 7 point tiebreak for the third set. If there is a split, a two minute coaching break will be allowed. No ad scoring for all 10's singles. 10's doubles will be one set to 6 with a 7 point tiebreak at 6-6. No ad scoring for 10's doubles.

YOU MUST PLAY THE SAME DIVISION IN SINGLES AND DOUBLES
Per Southern Tennis Assoication Rules: You MUST play the same division in DOUBLES that you designated to play in SINGLES. PLEASE sign-up accordingly. Players signing up for TWO (2) singles divisions, PLEASE keep a close eye on your doubles status after the competitor list comes out. Thank you for your understanding!

ENTERING TWO DIVISIONS IN SINGLES
Players are allowed to enter two divisions in Southern Levels 1A, 2, and 3 tournaments. #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected in the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. YOU MAY ONLY PLAY ONE SINGLES DIVISION AND ONE DOUBLES DIVISION.
#2. Players not selected to either division would remain on the alternates lists for both division but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the alternates list. They would be removed from the Alternates list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division NO changes can be made.

WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURES
Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline: Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes. Withdrawal After Entry Deadline: Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is chipstearns@hotmail.com. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS PAST 10/30/20. Refunds will only be given with proper documentation and valid excuse and may take up to 6 weeks to process. See procedures below for receiving a refund. Defaulting during the tournament: You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE! If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.

NO REFUNDS AFTER FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30
If you withdraw on or before October 30, 2020 you will receive a refund. If you withdraw after October 30, 2020 there are no refunds. Per STA Requirements "An entry fee refund is not required for anyone withdrawing within seven days of the start date."

REFUNDS AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES
If you withdraw before registration closes, your credit card will not be charged. If you withdraw after registration closes, you may be eligible for refund if you withdraw by 10/30/20. A player shall not withdraw from a tournament after entries close except for illness, injury, or personal circumstance. A withdrawing player shall immediately notify the tournament by email that the player will not be playing. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. If the player is not playing because of a personal circumstance, the player shall provide a written explanation of the situation to the referee no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. The referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal emergency. In order to receive a refund, you must notify the tournament immediately of your withdrawal, no later than Friday 10/30/20. Then, you must email chipstearns@hotmail.com with your medical excuse or emergency explanation. You must also include the exact "Payee" name the check is payable to. This must be received by the last day of the tournament which is 11/9/20. Our best advice to you, is make sure you assess your means of travel and schedules before registration closes. Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, October 25, 2020 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
