Training sessions will be available all week at VDM. Morning practice sessions are from Tuesday 8-10 AM Wednesday 10-12 Thursday 8-10 AM and Friday 10-12 at $25 per session. This is a Southern Level 1 Tournament.
We are hosting the 18's age division only.
This is a 4 Day Tournament - Saturday through Tuesday.
Players are selected straight from the Southern Standings List provided to us by USTA Southern.

USTA Southern will be providing an information and Q&A session with Maria Cercone regarding the changes and improvements to the USTA Junior circuit in 2021. The meeting will be held on Sunday evening at 5pm at the Shipyard Racquet Club in the room where the tournament desk is. All juniors, parents & coaches are welcome to attend!!

The Format of Play for Singles is:
--128 Main Draw with a 3rd/4th Playoff
--Full Feed-In Consolation through the Round of 16, with the last round of consolation being Quarterfinals.
--Main Draw Quarterfinal Losers Playoffs to determine 5th/6h. Match determining 7th/8th will not be played.
The Scoring for Main Draw Singles is Best 2 of 3 Full Sets.
The Consolation is best of 3 Sets with tiebreak in lieu of the third set. This includes, 3rd/4th and 5th/6th Playoffs.
The Format of Play for Doubles is a 64 Draw, Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff.
The Scoring for Doubles is an 6-game Pro Set until the Finals and 3rd/4th Playoff which will be 3 Sets with tiebreak in lieu of the third set.


PLEASE NOTE!! - ALL PLAYERS IN THE SEMIFINALS OF DOUBLES WILL PLAY AGAIN, EITHER FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR THE 3rd/4th POSITION!

ALSO NOTE, DOUBLES PLAYERS MUST PLAY THE SAME AGE DIVISION AS THEIR SINGLES.

Before registration closes, I do not have access to add doubles pairings. I can only do this after the player selections have been made after the deadline passes. You can indicate your doubles partner either at initial tournament entry, or you can indicate your doubles partner later by finding the 'edit entry' section on the tournament homepage. This will allow you to indicate your doubles partner.


Once Online Registration has closed, you can still email (katie@vdmtennis.com) to register, withdraw or make changes to doubles. The players listed without a partner name, have not indicated one to me. If you see someone for whom you would like contact info, you can request that info via email from me after registration has closed. The sooner you provide us with accurate doubles information, the sooner we can prepare and post the Doubles Draws. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you do not have a partner and want to be randomly paired, you must email katie@vdmtennis.com to notify us that is your intention.
If you have not emailed by Tuesday 1/14/20, you will be removed from the doubles competitors list.
For clarification, randomly paired means the tournament director has the discretion to pair you with whomever needs a partner. Due to withdrawals, your partner randomly assigned can also be changed. Random pairings will not be made until 1/14/20.

Must be a resident of USTA Southern. This is defined as individuals who have established a legal residency in one of the nine states of USTA Southern whose geographical boundaries are determined by USTA Southern. Legal residency for juniors is that of his/her legal supporting parent(s). Individuals must be United States citizens or permanent resident aliens.
PLAYERS MAY ONLY REGISTER FOR ONE AGE DIVISION.

WILSON US OPEN EXTRA DUTY IS THE OFFICIAL BALL FOR THIS TOURNAMENT

The USTA Southern Section requires a signed release covering all entrants in USTA Southern Section events. The release must be signed by the entrant and parent or guardian of any entrant who is a minor. Due to Alternate notification, Doubles, Time Changes, and Draw Changes, it is imperative for you to add contact information (email and phone) during the online registration process when asked. So a player does not miss something, please help us and yourselves by offering this contact information. If you did not add your contact information during registration, you can email this information to katie@vdmtennis.com at anytime.

On Friday afternoon, practice courts will be available at VDM Shipyard Racquet Club. To reserve a court, please call the Pro Shop at (843)686-8804. The fee will be $10 to reserve a court. If you would just like to walk on, courts are available on a first-come first-serve basis.Practice courts will be available before matches start each day at VDM Shipyard Racquet Club (main site). Once matches begin, there will be 4 HARD COURTS available at Shipyard RC for practice throughout the day. There are also additional hard courts available at the other VDM location located at 19 Deallyon Avenue.

Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website, under "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen, select "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then select "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose entry fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is katie@vdmtennis.com. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are NO refunds for withdrawals after Registration closes. This also means if you withdraw after registration closes but before the selections are finalized, you will still be charged and there is no refund.
Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at the Van Der Meer Shipyard site. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE! If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.

Mandatory check-in will be on Friday afternoon/evening from 4-7pm at Van Der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club. For those of you that "just cant make it by that time" need to do the following and PLEASE DO NOT CALL:
1- Make sure your entry fee has been paid - check the Tournament Entry Fee Report when posted.
2 - Email your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone number to katie@vdmtennis.com.
3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament.

There will be a trainer from Drayer Physical Therapy at the VDM Shipyard Racquet Club throughout the duration of the tournament. If you need to see the trainer, please find your way to the main site for this service.

Tournament stringing will be completed on-site at VDM Shipyard Racquet Club. The stringing labor fee is $15 per racket. If string needs to be purchased, this cost will be added to the stringing labor fee. **Cost of string varies depending on type of string used.

Please notify the gate guard that you are attending a Van Der Meer Tennis Program to receive a day pass to enter the Plantation.) Follow the main Shipyard Plantation road for 1 mile until it ends in a traffic circle. Take the second exit off of the circle onto Shipyard Drive. Follow for 1.5 miles. The Van Der Meer Shipyard Tennis Resort will be on your right. Please obey all speed limits, they are strictly enforced.

Special Instructions for (CENT) Centre court (843-785-1152): If your designated site is Centre Court you don’t need a car pass-- just inform the guard at the South Gate inside Palmetto Dunes that you have a match at Centre Court. Proceed through the gate and take first right on Carnoustie. Three driveways on the right is the parking lot to Centre Court. DO NOT PARK on side of street or grassy areas in Palmetto Dunes Resort. You will be ticketed!

From the Van Der Meer Shipyard courts, exit through the main gate of Shipyard. Turn left onto route 278 business. You will reach a traffic circle where you will take the second exit onto Greenwood Drive. When you come to the gate at Sea Pines enter the lane marked for visitors and tell the gate guard that you are there for the tennis tournament. From the Sea Pines gate, take Greenwood Drive - all the way to the inner circle. Take the 2nd exit off of this circle. You will still be on Greenwood Drive, headed to South Beach. Follow Greenwood until it dead ends into South Sea Pines Drive. Go right at the stop sign. Stay on South Sea Pines Drive for about 2 miles. The South Beach Racquet Club will be on the right just before you reach the South Beach Marina Village (Salty Dog Cafe).

From the VanDer Meer Shipyard courts, exit through the main gate of Shipyard. Our left onto route 278 business.
