*CANCELED* USTA Southern Closed BG 14s Championship Level 1 (National L4)

Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, USTA Southern has canceled all Southern Level 1 and Level 2 events scheduled to be held now through August 31st.

In response to the COVID-19, we will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk technology to help facilitate CDC best practices.

In order to compete in this event, all competitors MUST click the below link to fill out the check-in form, and sign the waiver for this tournament.

While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone should wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where social gathering is most common. We instead will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk to help facilitate CDC guidelines for social distancing. Please be aware that players should not register for doubles as all age divisions of the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now not offer doubles in order to follow USTA & Southern guidelines for player safety. If you have already registered, you will not be charged.

Please note that the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now be counted for National Level 4 points and 2021 Level 4 shadow ranking. Players will still receive Southern Level 1 points.

Please register for Match Tennis App. We will be using Match Tennis App during our tournament for the following:

1. Important Tournament Notifications- you must register to receive automatic email messages for (rain delays, schedule changes, draw changes, etc.) instead of having to check the website over and over.
2. “Find a Warm-Up Partner” Privatized Service (Find a partner to warm-up with before your matches. Register, Add your name to the list, and connect with others looking)

Any players who register late for the Southern Closed event will be charged a late entry fee of $25.

Thursday 7/30 - Main Draw Rd 256 and 128; 1 round consolation
Friday 7/31 - Main Draw Rd 64 (Seeded players start Friday); 2 rounds Consolation
Saturday 8/1 - Main Draw Rd 32; 2 rounds consolation
Sunday 8/2 - Main Draw Rd 16; 2 rounds consolation
Monday 8/3 - Main Draw Qtr; 2 rounds consolation
Tuesday 8/3 Main Draw Semi - Finals; 2 rounds consolation
Wednesday 8/4 Main Draw Finals, 3/4 playoff, 2 rounds consolation

We will use Wilson US Open balls for this tournament.

A Stringer will be at John Drew Smith Tennis Center each day of the tournament.

Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.


Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is daltondeuce@aol.com. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No refunds after selections are made.


Withdrawing during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE!

We will have a trainer on site at John Drew Smith Tennis Center during play.

Main Draw Rd 256 and 128 - best of 2 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd setMain Draw - Rd 64 - Finals - best of 3 tiebreak sets
Consolation - best of 2 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set

Singles draws will be 160 players. We will not have doubles this year.
