Come out and play the Thoreau Junior Masters Series events to
qualify to play alongside some of the best tennis players in the
world!
The Thoreau Club in Concord MA is excited to announce this series
of 5 summer tournaments for our local juniors. All match play
during the USTA sanctioned Thoreau Junior Masters Series events
will earn you points in order to qualify for the Thoreau Junior
Tennis Open, which will be held simultaneously with the $60K ITF
sanctioned Thoreau Open, August 12-17, 2019.
The 8 players to win the most points in each age group will receive
an invitational entry into the Thoreau Junior Tennis Open held on
August 12-17, 2019.

The Thoreau Junior Tennis Open Champions will receive a $500 Tim
Mayotte Tennis Academy voucher redeemable for Academy participation
and/or Academy apparel
Finalists will receive a $150 Tim Mayotte Tennis Academy voucher
redeemable for Academy apparel
* Non-transferable to other players or Academy programs. * Not
redeemable for cash value. * Voucher recipient must begin training
at the Academy by October 1st, 2019. * Expires December 31st,
2019.
The Thoreau Junior Masters Series tiebreak procedures.
If at the end of the Thoreau Junior Masters Series (final
tournament held during the weekend of 8/2/19), two or more players
are tied with points the following tiebreak procedures will be
enacted to break said tie.
1. Participation. The player or players that have participated in
the most number of Junior Master Series events.
2. Head to Head results. If two or more players are tied after
tiebreak procedure 1, their head to head results (if any exist)
will be applied.
3. Sets won/lost. If after tie breaking procedures 1 and 2 are
applied and there is still a tie, players sets won/lost will be
calculated with the player who lost the fewest sets
advancing.
4. Games won/lost. If after tie breaking procedures 1, 2, and 3 are
applied and there is still a tie, players games won/lost will be
calculated with the player who lost the fewest games
advancing.
Tournament format for Thoreau Junior Masters Series.
* All tournaments will be round robin format. * Each match will be
one set, no-ad scoring with a set tiebreak at 6-6 * Players will
have a 10 minute warm up before their first round match.
Tournament format for Thoreau Junior Tennis Open.
* Tournament structure will divide the 8 competitors into two
groups of round robin play. * Group "A" will be players 1/3/5/7. *
Group "B" will be players 2/4/6/8. * Upon completion of round robin
play (tiebreak procedures 2-4 above will apply) the top two players
in each group will move on to a traditional semifinals and finals
bracket. * Semifinals and Finals will be the best of three sets
with a match tiebreak played in lieu of the third set.
Each event will be completed in a single day.
