SUNDAY BRUNCH AT MALIBU RACQUET CLUB
On Sunday, between the last round robin matches and the finals, there will be a complimentary brunch for the players and their guests at the Malibu Racquet Club.

PRACTICE COURT INFORMATION
- If you are in the first check in group, there will likely be practice courts at the site you're playing. Pepperdine courts will be available starting at 8AM, Malibu at 7AM. - If you are not in the first group, we suggest going to the lower courts at Pepperdine on the corner of Pacific Coast Hwy and John Tyler Drive. There are 10 courts there. Please note that these courts are run by the HOA in the area so they have first priority if they wish to play.
All courts are available on a first come first serve basis. Please be courteous and allow others to warm up on your court if there are just two people hitting.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE & SCHEDULE
Each age division will include two pools of four players waterfalled by UTR (UTR list from the week of November 11th will be used). Each player will play everyone in his/her pool once.
Two round robin matches will be played on Saturday, and the final round robin match will be played on Sunday.
The winner of each pool will advance to the finals of the Final 8 Masters Championships on Sunday.

MATCH FORMAT
All matches will be "best of three" sets with a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a full third set. The Final will consist of "best of three" tiebreak sets, regular scoring.

RANKING POINTS
Players will receive 200 points for each round robin win. The finalist will receive an additional 200 points, and the champion will receive an additional 400 points. The maximum number of points the champion can earn is 1000 points; finalist is 800 points (assuming full draws).

MATCH SITES
Malibu Racquet Club is located at 23847 Stuart Ranch Road in Malibu, accessible from Pacific Coast Highway and less than one mile north of Malibu Country Mart. Please note that the facility is not visible from the street. Signage on Stuart Ranch Road will direct guests to event parking, adjacent to the site.
Pepperdine University's Ralphs Strauss Tennis Center is situated off John Tyler Drive in Malibu, approximately one mile north of Malibu Racquet Club, off Pacific Coast Highway. Visitors must pass through a security gate upon entering the campus and indicate "USTA Tennis Tournament" for admittance. Parking is located along the drive, or in parking lots surrounding the Firestone Fieldhouse. Signage will indicate the route to the Tennis Center. Please note that other events may be taking place on campus at this time that could impact parking; early arrival is recommended.
Parking at both facilities is free of charge, and both require a short walk from parking areas to the tennis courts.

BREAKING TIES IN ROUND ROBIN
We will use the USTA tiebreak procedures as outlined on page 74 of the 2019 Friend at Court.
Determining order of finish. The player who wins the most matches is the winner. If two players are tied, then the winner of their head- to-head match is the winner. If three or more players are tied, the Referee shall use the following steps in the order listed to break all ties. The Referee shall break as many ties as possible using a given step before using the next step. These steps are: • • • • • • • • • - The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving just the tied players; - The player with the highest percentage of sets won of all sets completed; - The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied; - The player with the highest percentage of games won of all games completed; - The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied; - The player with the highest percentage of sets won of sets completed among players in the group under consideration; The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied; - The player with the highest percentage of games won of games completed among the players under consideration; and - The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied.

The Wilson US Open Extra Duty will be used for this tournament.

The USTA Lateness Penalty will be enforced.

SELECTION & ALTERNATE LISTS
The selection list is now posted. If you see your name on the competitors list, you have been selected to play. Otherwise, your name will be on the "Alternates by Event" link above.
IMPORTANT! Alternates: If you enter in another tournament the weekend of November 16-17, you MUST email Takamori@scta.usta.com to remove your name from the alternate list. You may not withdraw from another tournament to play this one once entries have closed for the other tournament.

HOW DO I QUALIFY??
The top 8 SoCal players in each age division are invited to this Final Masters event in Malibu. Players are selected based on ranking points earned at the following tournaments. You must register to be considered for selection into the Final 8 event. 1. Woody Hunt South Bay 2. Junior Sectionals 3. War by the Shore 4. Mary Brymer 5. Santa Barbara (August) 6. Los Cab 7. FINAL STANDINGS
The final list is now published. If there is a tie, we will use the Junior Tie-Breaking Rules: Step 1: Player whose best event has the highest number of points, second best, third best, etc. Step 2: Best random draw number. Any errors will need to be emailed to Takamori@scta.usta.com BEFORE the entry deadline.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
