IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This
tournament is a Midwest Level 4, One-Day Flighted Compass Draw.
For
the first flight, the top 8 players based on the most current standings list
must be included in the draw. In the
second flight, the second 8 highest ranked players must be included in the
draw. This pattern for selecting players
into the draw shall be repeated for each additional flight created.
The
number of players in any particular flight will determine how that flight will
be played in accordance with the following chart that shows the number of
players to the left and the permitted type of draw to the right:
8 players
………………Regular Compass Draw.
7 players
………………Regular Compass Draw with one bye.
6 players
………………Regular Compass Draw with two byes.
5
players ………………Round Robin playing the best of three short sets (to four games),
with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
4
players ………………Regular Round Robin.
3 players ………………Regular
Round Robin
If more than 8
players are entered, the remaining players will be alternates unless there are
three or more additional players to create a second draw.
Points
will be awarded in the following manner:
Champion: 80
Second
Place: 68
Third
Place: 60
Fourth
Place: 54
The
last place players not winning a match in a round robin will not receive any
points.
Each
consolation win: 8 points

1 DAY TOURNAMENT
All matches will be played on SATURDAY... no need to set your whole weekend aside. Most players will be here between 6-8 hours from start to finish..includes 3 matches, 1 hour breaks between matches, time to eat pizza, etc. Some matches will start as early as 9am.

COMPASS DRAW w/ USTA POINTS AWARDED
All draws will be 8 person compass draws which will guarantee each player 3 matches (assuming draw is full). We will have more than one 8 person draw per age bracket if registration numbers dictate it. All matches will be 2/3 full sets with a 10pt match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set.

PLAYER SELECTION
Players will be selected based on the most recent Midwest rankings.

PIZZA...
We will have pizza for all players.

WITHDRAWALS / REFUNDS
There are no refunds for any reason once the players have been selected.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, June 10, 2019 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
