WELCOME TO THE USTA NORCAL ROG FAMILY TEAM TOURNAMENT!
Come join us for a day of family fun! This tournament will be for youth/children 12 and under and their parents or grandparents. This event will use the smaller courts and the low compression balls.

YOUTH/CHILD AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR EVENTS:
For the Red Ball event, juniors must be ages 5 to 10 at the time of the event. For the Orange Ball event juniors must be ages 7 to 11 at the time of the event For the Green Ball event, juniors must be ages 8 to 12 at the time of the event.

ALL PLAYERS (INCLUDING PARENTS) MUST USE THE APPROPRIATE SIZE RACKET IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EVENT THEY ARE ENTERING IN
There will be some loaner rackets for players to use at the tournament if they do not have the correct size racket.

DESCRIPTIONS OF BALL TYPES & LEVELS
RED – Recommended for beginning players aged 10 and under. Players are just learning to compete and are still developing basic forehand, backhand, and serve techniques. Court size is 36 ft and red balls will be used. Rackets cannot be longer than 23in.
ORANGE – Recommended for players aged 11 and under. Players have some experience in competition and have basic understanding on how to rally and win points. At this level players should have the proper grips for various types of strokes. Court size is 60 ft and orange balls will be used. Rackets cannot be longer than 25in.
GREEN – Recommended for players aged 12 and under. Players have a good understanding of strategies, point construction, and how to play high percentage aggressive tennis. Green level players should be comfortable in all different areas of the court from the baseline to the net. Court size is a regular 78 ft court and green dot balls will be used. Rackets cannot be longer than 27in.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS - PLEASE READ
This Tournament offers 3 events:
Parent-child Red Ball Parent-child Orange Ball Parent-child Green Ball
There is only 1 event per color ball/court size. For example dads and sons could be playing against mothers and daughters or mother and sons etc.
The mother-daughter and father-son events are listed because the parent-child event in Tennislink is considered as a mixed doubles event. If you are a father-son team or a mother- daughter team, please sign up for father-son or mother-daughter under the color ball event that you are entering in. Once entries close we will combine all accepted entries under the same color ball in one event.

Entries and entry fees are per player. Both players must register by May 15 and enter the code "ROGFAM" at check out for both players to receive the discount.

MATCH FORMATS
Red Ball Match Format - Two out of three games. Games are played to seven (7) points. The first team to 7 points wins the game.
Orange and Green Ball Match Format - One short set no-ad scoring. The first team to 4 games wins the set

TEAM MATCHES
Team Matches for All Divisions
Four Doubles matches will consist of an overall team match:
· Two parent child matches · One junior-junior match · One parent-parent match
*The tournament reserves the right to adjust the number of matches accordingly based on the number of entries that are received.

LIMITED DRAWS
The draws will be limited to 12 doubles teams per event. Doubles Teams will be assigned into bigger teams after entries close. If there is a specific team that you would like to be paired with, please send an email to Chris Samuel at csamuel@norcal.usta.com BEFORE entries close and let her know (1) your name and your doubles partner's name , (2) the division you are entered in and (3) the doubles team that you would like to be paired with. Please be sure to copy the other doubles team on your email and make sure they are entered in the same division of the tournament. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept more than 12 doubles teams in an event.
Player will be selected in the order of which entries are received.

THERE WILL BE NO WARM-UP COURTS
There will be no warm-up courts. If you would like to warm-up, please warm-up before coming to the site.

Tournament Amenities
All tournament participants will receive a player gift. There will also be snacks.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
