Unsanctioned TournamentThis tournament is not sanctioned and will not count for ranking by the governing organization.
Notes
With a record number of tennis players, we will be implementing
a few changes to maximize your playing experience in all age
divisions. We have shortened all matches, except medal rounds, to
one 8-game pro-set with no-add scoring and established a round
robin format for all initial rounds, which we believe will provide
more play for all. With additional play, you may play more than one
match per day per division. If you are playing in two divisions,
you may play more than three matches in one day.
Please report to the tournament site to sign in for each round at
least a half hour before your start time. Matches will start based
upon order of sign in. We have over 1,480 matches to complete over
the duration of the tournament, so please be patient.
The round robin format starts with groups (pools) of three or four
individuals or teams, so everyone is guaranteed at least two
matches. When looking on this web site, you will need to look
through several groups to find your name. For example, based on
current entry numbers, the Men's 55 singles has five initial round
robin pools, Men's 55 Singles - A, ...B, through ...E.
Additionally, based on the number of current entrants, the Men's 70
singles has 14 round robin pools. At the completion of the round
robins, the top players or teams (and in some cases other high
finishers) will be selected and seeded to play in a playoff draw.
The number of players or teams who qualify for the playoffs will be
based on the number of players in that division. If the division
has 27 or more players/teams, we will select 16 qualifiers for the
playoff draw. For divisions with 26 or fewer entrants, we will
select 8 qualifiers for the playoff draw.
For those divisions with a very small number of entrants the round
robin itself or a smaller playoff process will be used to determine
the winning entrants.
There will also be a consolation draw. PLEASE let us know after the
round robin play if you DO NOT want to play in the consolation
draw.
Please check this web site EACH DAY as the schedule may change due
to player cancellations and injury. We will be playing with the
Wilson High Altitude ball. Remember to stay hydrated throughout
your stay in Albuquerque.
If you have any questions, please email our tennis chair, Walt
Peckinpaugh at NSGAtennis@peckinpaugh.com. We expect to have the
initial round robin pools posted on or about Friday June 7th.
The overall playing schedule for each division is posted on the
NSGA.com web site.
