August 24-25, and August 31-September 1. The first weekend we will play at two sites - Natomas Sports Club, 2450 Natomas Park Dr, Sacramento CA 95833, and at Laguna Creek Sports Club, 9570 Racquet Ct, Elk Grove CA 95758. The BG12-14 will be at Natomas Sports Club the first weekend, and the BG16-18 will be at Laguna Creek Sports Club. For the second weekend of play, all events will be at Laguna Creek Sports Club. Hotel information is posted separately below.
All singles draws are
limited to 32 players; all doubles draws are limited to 16 teams.
Singles will play
the best of three tiebreak sets for the BG14-18. For the BG12, a
10-point Match Tiebreak will be used in lieu of the third set. All
singles events will have a Feed-In Championship which is mandatory to
play. All FIC matches will use a 10-point tiebreak in lieu of the
third set. There will be a 3/4 place playoff, and a 5/6 place
playoff. The 7/8 playoff is not held.
Doubles format is an
8-game proset with a 7-point set tiebreak at 8-games all. Doubles is
a single-elimination event with a 3/4 place playoff.
NorCal does the
selection based on a combination of combined ranking and UTR. NorCal
will use an All-Factor method in doing the seeding but will start
with the singles seeding list.
Doubles Notification
– all players who do not wish to play doubles MUST remove
themselves from the doubles list by August 19th, 6 PM. The
tournament will NOT randomly pair doubles players. All players who
are not paired up by August 19th, 6 PM, and remain on the
doubles list, will be placed on the doubles alternate list.
SAT Avoidances -
read the information below regarding the SAT avoidance request for
August 24. You must request this avoidance before entries close on
August 12th, if you wish to ensure that it is honored. Main draw singles is honored if the request is made on time; doubles may not be honored. The later the time that you request, the less likely it is that doubles can be honored. The latest start time is 3:30 PM. You always have the option of taking the test nearby to the tennis site if you wish to play doubles for sure or want an earlier start time.
Withdrawals –
please note that any withdrawals for injury or illness must be
supported by a medical note that is presented before the end of the
tournament, September 1, in order to have the withdrawal excused. If
the withdrawal is not excused, the player will receive four
suspension points for an unexcused withdrawal. Withdrawals for
personal circumstance must be explained to the referee in enough
detail for the referee to make a determination if the withdrawal is
excused or not.
Refunds – there
are no refunds after Saturday, August 17th, for any
reason.
Communication –
please use email to the tournament director, Jesse Pangilinan, with a
copy to the tournament referee, Carol (Anna) Kim, to ensure your
issue is received. Response will usually be by email. Filling
withdrawals will always be by email – so please make sure your
email address is correct if you wish to receive tournament
information.
We anticipate good
sportsmanship. The NorCal Zeero Tolerance Rule is in effect for
players and all of those associated with players (spectators,
coaches, parents, etc.).Code violations and post match violations are
reported with the associated suspension points filed.
Remember that the Sacramento area can be quite hot this time of year. Traffic also can be an issue. So please take care of yourself, and give yourself ample time to arrive safely.
