Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, USTA Southern has canceled all Southern Level 1 and Level 2 events scheduled to be held now through August 31st.

In response to the COVID-19, we will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk technology to help facilitate CDC best practices.

While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone should wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Please be aware that players should not register for doubles as all age divisions of the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now not offer doubles in order to follow USTA & Southern guidelines for player safety. If you have already registered, you will not be charged.

Please note that the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now be counted for National Level 4 points and 2021 Level 4 shadow ranking. Players will still receive Southern Level 1 points.

Singles Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.

Singles
160 Draw with a Feed In through the Quarterfinals Consolation.
Main Draw matches will be Best Two out of Three Tiebreak Sets (If there are two rounds on the first day, a Match Tiebreak will be played in lieu of the Third Set)
Consolation matches will be Best Two out of Three Sets with a Match Tiebreak in lieu of the Third Set.

In matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow "The Code"

The Mobile Tennis Center uses conduct rules above and beyond those enforced by the USTA. Players participating in tournaments at the facilities identified are required to abide by these facility rules of behavior on and off of the court. These rules also apply to parents, coaches, siblings, and other guests of the players.
The list below indicates the Facility Behavior Rules:
* No use of the word "suck" or any form of the word spoken or spelled.
* No use of expressions of frustrations with references to deities (i.e. "Oh My God", "Jesus", "Jesus Christ", "Christ", "God") either spoken or spelled.
* No use of "freaking", "frigging", or "fricking" or variations of such words either spoken or spelled.
* No Smoking anywhere on the premises. Premises includes parking lots, bathrooms, and anywhere within 30 feet of a tennis court.
Verbal rules apply to any language. We have officials on sight who are fluent in many languages.
Anyone found in violation of these rules may be subject to a Code Violation and receive suspension points.

For the Boys:
* Any T-shirts worn must be plain or tennis related
* No underwear should be visible above waist band or below hemline
* Shirts must be worn at all times
* Shorts must be worn appropriately above pelvic bones
* Sleeveless shirts are acceptable if made that way - no cutoffs
For the Girls:
* Any T-shirts must be plain or tennis related
* Compression shorts must be fully covered with a skirt or dress. Also known as "shorties" or "booty shorts" are not allowed to be worn without being covered
* Skirts and shorts must be worn appropriately above the pelvic bones
* The bottom of your Shirt must touch the top of your Skirt or Short while standing upright-shoulders back; this means do not roll down your skirts or shorts. Trust us when we tell you that your equipment (skirt or short) is not working properly during play when rolled

Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website under "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen click "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is tennismobile@gmail.com. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are no refunds after registration closes. If you wait to withdraw after registration closes, but before selections are made, you will be charged and there is no refund.
Defaulting during the tournament:
You must text 251-510-0113 or email tennismobile@gmail.com to withdraw during the tournament. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.

We do have a Fully Stocked Pro Shop at the Mobile Tennis Center. 50% off all shoes, both regular and discounted prices. The tournament discount is 10% off all clothing, racquets, and bags even on already heavily discounted prices.

There will be two Experienced Stringers at the Mobile Tennis Center during the tournament. Cost with your own string is $18. We also have a large string inventory if you do not have your own.

One trainer will be on site at the Mobile Tennis Center during matches. By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute any medicine. Please bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Sinus Medicine, Epi Pens, etc.
Please note: The trainer has a lot of ground to cover with on-court issues and many people to see off the court. They are not there to give massages due to limited time and lack of privacy; but, they will advise you on various techniques you or your parents can do. Also, there is a science to applying Kinesiology Tape due to a specific diagnosis. Without the diagnosis from a doctor, the trainers will not apply this type tape. If you require this type tape due to a pre-existing injury, please learn how to tape before the tournament.
