PLAYER PARTY
Join us for the Ivory Homes Utah State Open Tennis Championships Player Party! Tuesday, June 18th, at the Sports Mall from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.

MATCH LOCATIONS
Matches will be played at three locations. Please check your draws carefully. ECC = Eccles Tennis Center. The Eccles Tennis Center is located on the University of Utah Campus at 550 Guardsman Way, Salt Lake City. SM = Sports Mall. The Sports Mall is located at 5445 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. LP = Liberty Park. The entrance to Liberty Park is located at 900 South 600 East, Salt Lake City. In case of inclement weather, players may be sent to alternate locations in order to complete the matches for the day, or matches may be rescheduled. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS UNDER THE BIG "R" POLICY. ALL FINALS WILL BE PLAYED AT THE ECCLES TENNIS CENTER.

SINGLES MATCHES WILL BE FIRST MATCH LOSERS CONSOLATION
The player only advances to the consolation round if he or she loses the first match that they play. If they have a win their first match and lose their second match, they do not go into the consolation round. If they have a bye for their first round, but lose the first match that they play, they do advance to the consolation round. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DRAW CAREFULLY AND OFTEN!

JUNIORS 12-18 SINGLES FORMAT
2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring. 7 Point Tiebreak at 6 games all. Singles matches will be First Match Losers Consolation.

JUNIORS 12-18 DOUBLES FORMAT
2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring. 7 Point Tiebreak at 6 games all. Doubles matches are Single Elimination.

FORMAT FOR 12'S OPEN GREEN DIVISION
12's Open Green Division may be played by any 12's Division player who is seeking more green dot ball play. 10's Division players may play up into this division if they have qualified for 10's Green play. However, 10's Division players will not receive green ball stars in Youth Progression for playing in this division. Matches will be played on 78' (full size) courts with green dot low compression balls.

FORMAT FOR 10'S OPEN DIVISIONS
10's Orange Open Divisions will be played on 60' courts with orange low compression balls. 10's Green Open Divisions will be played on 78' (full size) courts with green dot low compression balls. 10's matches will be best of 3 short sets (if the score reaches 4-4, a 7 Point Tiebreak will be played to determine the winner of the set), no-ad scoring. 10's players can continue to play in the 10's Open Orange Division until the month that they turn 11 - regardless of if they have already passed off their Orange progression stars.

AVOIDANCE REQUESTS
We try to the best of our ability to accommodate avoidance requests FOR A PLAYER'S FIRST MATCH ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. After that we are unable to accommodate avoidance requests due to the unpredictability of match outcomes and court availability. AVOIDANCE REQUESTS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE AT rwise@utahtennis.com. I WILL DO MY BEST TO HONOR YOUR AVOIDANCE REQUEST FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT IF THE REQUEST IS MADE BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE. Please be prepared to play Monday's matches on Tuesday if you have requested an avoidance for the 1st day of play.

DRAWS
Draws are posted 3 days prior to the event. It is the player's responsibility to check the draws for scheduled match times and locations. Draws are posted on the website at www.utahtennis.com. Always check for any changes that may occur.

MATCH TIMES
Junior matches will be played between 8:00 am and 9:30 pm. The majority of the matches will be played between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm as the Adult portion of this tournament is played at 5:30 pm or later.

IN CASE OF INSUFFICIENT ENTRIES IN A DIVISION
We will assume that your intent is to participate in the tournament and you will be moved to the next event possible.

RESCHEDULING POLICY
There will be NO RESCHEDULING of any tournament matches except in EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE PLAYER (such as a family funeral) and then only with prior approval from the Tournament Director for the reschedule. Players rescheduling without permission from the Tournament Director will be DEFAULTED. All costs of rescheduling if approved by the Tournament Director are the responsibility of the initiator - including guest fees. PLAYERS ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO RESCHEDULE WHEN ASKED BY AN OPPONENT! We realize that you have worked your schedule around the tournament for a week and don't think it is fair for other's to ask you to reschedule.

FINALS MAY NOT BE RESCHEDULED AND WILL BE PLAYED ON SATURDAY WITH AN UMPIRE PRESENT AT THE SITE.

THE BIG "R" POLICY
IF MATCHES ARE RESCHEDULED BECAUSE OF WEATHER, I WILL POST INSTRUCTIONS ON THE TOURNAMENT WEBSITE. In case of RAIN, please do not leave the site. Weather can change quickly and matches may be resumed sooner than you think. Even if the weather looks "iffy" where you are (unless instructed otherwise by a Tournament Official) always go to your site to check-in for your match, regardless of the weather conditions. If there is a rain delay, alternative instructions will be provided at the tournament desk. Playing indoors will be a last resort and every effort will be made to reschedule matches outdoors if weather permits. Players may be sent to alternative locations to complete the matches of the day. PLEASE BE PATIENT.

REFUNDS
No refunds will be given once the draws are made which is two days prior to the draws being posted.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
USTA Rules of Tennis and USTA Tournament Regulations, including the Point Penalty System, will be enforced throughout the tournament. It is a player's responsibility to know and understand these rules. Roving Umpires may be present at all Sanctioned Tournaments and will call obvious infractions of the Code and Rules of Tennis. THE CODE CONCERNING SPECTATORS - SPECTATORS ARE NEVER TO MAKE CALLS. A PLAYER SHALL NEVER ENLIST THE AID OF A SPECTATOR IN MAKING A CALL. NO SPECTATOR HAS A PART IN THE MATCH.
