Due to the weather issues this weekend we will be canceling the doubles in all age groups for this tournament.

All quarterfinal losers are fed into the Gold Draw. You will have at least one match tomorrow.

Hello Everyone:
Welcome to the USTA Level 3 Memorial Day Weekend tournament.
Here is some general information:


I will update the tournament website when available
We have 10 sites to host the 512 player event. Since the sites are spread out many times all sites do not get rain at the same time or not at all.
Please do not assume if it is raining where you are it is raining at every site. The weather patterns in our area change constantly. We will play outside as much as possible as there are 85 plus courts going and 25 indoor courts available. We will roll dry when any site has stopped play. and very early in the morning to start play.


PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE REGISTRATION SITE FOR INFORMATION as I will post on the tournament website any updates. I appreciate your patience.

If matches get played indoors we may use modified scoring. We will let you know at the site by the umpires

A few reminders:
Friday night check-in is not mandatory but if you choose to come early during Friday night at 5 pm - 8 pm you can check in and receive your player packet and tournament T-shirt. The t-shirt company prints the shirt right on site at the Court One Athletic Club, 2291 Research Circle, Okemos, Mi 48864.


If you cannot check in Friday evening then just go to the site of your first match at least 15 minutes ahead of time. You can come back over to the club to get your player packet and tournament t-shirt after any of your matches. The times the t-shirt vendor will be here is Friday night, 5-8 pm. Saturday & Sunday during the day from 9 am - 7 pm and Monday 9 am - 12:00 noon. After that time they will no longer be available and we will not mail the shirt to you.

This tournament will use a combination of USTA/Midwest Points Per Round and Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for player selection and seeding. Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order:
1 - 44 Players based on the most recent Midwest Standings List
2 - 20 Players based on UTR with 100% reliable UTR
Players will be seeded for the tournament in the following order:
1 - All 16 seeds based on UTR with 100% reliable UTR

If you do not provide an email address and/or cell number(s) when you register for this tournament, then we will not be able to notify you about any possible changes in the tournament.

You will enter the park off of Michigan Ave. Go through the neighborhood area and the tennis court parking is off of Clare St. The tennis courts as another reference is behind the Sexton High School football stadium. If you go behind the stadium the school gate may be locked if so you will need to enter through the park entrance. Boy's 12.

64 Player Compass Draw. All matches are best of three tie-break sets with a 10-point tie-breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. 64 COMP.


Doubles are 32 single elimination draws. All doubles will be an 8-game pro-set with a 10 point tiebreaker at 8-8.
You must play in the age group you played singles in. The tournament is too spread out to allow doubles partners from different age groups to sign up together,

Saturday: 2 rounds of singles and doubles.
Sunday: 2 rounds of singles and doubles.
Monday: 2 rounds of singles and 1 round of doubles.


Reminder for doubles you must play doubles in the age group you played singles in. The tournament is too spread out with 512 entries to have doubles partners from different age groups play together.

ALTERNATES:

I will continue to update the alternate list each day if I have someone drop out after selections, up to Friday, May 24 at 12:00 noon EST. before the tournament. I will then only use the on-site alternate list on the day the tournament begins.
If you want to be removed from the Alternate list please send an email to:
selke.sue@courtone.com with your name and the age group and I will remove you from the alternate list if you are going to enter another tournament.
You cannot stay on an alternate list in multiple divisions even if you are not selected for either division you requested for this tournament.
If you enroll in another tournament and selected for that tournament, but did not send an email to be removed from the alternate list of this tournament you will be subject to suspension points.

STAND-BY ALTERNATES:
If you do not make the tournament but are in the top ten alternates you can be considered an on-site alternate. I will continue to update the Alternate list daily so I will always have 10 alternates if available per age division.
If you choose to come off the alternate list to enter another tournament you must email the tournament director at:selke.sue@courtone.com and let me know.
Anyone one not sending an email and are enrolled in another tournament (after that tournament selections have been made for that event) will be subject to suspension points.
After Friday, May 24 at 12:00 noon I will no longer call alternates on the list and I will only use those players that chose to be on site for the tournament.
1). Send an email to selke.sue@courtone.com.
2). If you are going to the Friday night early check in at Court One Athletic Clubs, 2291 Research Circle, Okemos, Mi 48864 when you come in please Check-in with the Tournament Director, Sue Selke ONLY so I know you are in town, need age group, a cell phone number and where you are staying.
3). If you cannot check in on Friday night you will need to be at Court One Athletic Clubs (same address as above) at 7:30 am to check in with the Tournament Director, Sue Selke.
4). All Stand by alternates will meet at 7:30 am at the club and we will wait at the club until the first round of play is on the court for your age group.
5). It will be the order of alternates that have check-in according to the updated alternate list.
6). If you wait as a stand by alternate and do not get into the singles draw and there are still opening in the age division doubles group you were an alternate for you will have an opportunity to play doubles and can be inserted into the draw but the tournament will not put partners together so you will need to know who you are playing with. Once the doubles draw begins there will be no more teams inserted into the doubles draw.

THE TOURNAMENT WILL NOT PUT PLAYERS TOGETHER. IT IS UP TO YOU TO FIND A PARTNER OR AGREE TO PLAY WITH THE PLAYER ON THE LOOKING FOR A PARTNER LIST. THE TOURNAMENT WILL NOT ACCEPT MULTIPLE REQUEST TO LOOK FOR A PARTNER IF YOU SELECT NOT TO PLAY WITH A LOOKING FOR A PARTNER LISTED. You need to start getting players names and phone numbers and or emails when playing other tournaments to plan for your doubles ahead of time for future tournaments

This tournament is a flat fee tournament and includes singles and doubles. You do not have to play doubles. If you do not want to be considered for doubles also email me so when players ask I can tell them you are not interested in playing doubles

ALL doubles times will be played after the singles match for the day and the times will be given out at the site where the singles are playing.

All warm-up courts are outdoors on a first come bases.
NO WARM-UP COURTS ARE AVAILABLE INDOORS as we will be using those courts for matches.


All sites that are running matches will only have warm-up courts until 8 am when matches begin.

IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE OPTIONAL EARLY CHECK-IN ON FRIDAY EVENING at the club THEN you will need to report to your playing site 15 minutes prior to your first match time. After your first match or any time between 9am - 6 pm Saturday or Sunday and Monday 9 am - 12 noon you can stop by Court One Athletic Club, 2291 Research Circle, Okemos, Mi 48864 to pick up your tournament T-Shirt and player packet as the tournament T-shirts are being printed on-site at the club to assure the right fit and an opportunity to upgrade your shirt at an additional cost. After 12:00 noon on Monday, May 27 T-shirts will no longer be available and we do not ship t-shirts.

Awards will be given to the following players:
Champion, Finalist, 3rd & 4th place, and the winner and runner up of the Gold Division

All racquets need to be dropped off and picked up at Court One Athletic Club, 2291 Research Circle, Okemos Michigan. 48864. A stringer will be on site from Friday, 6-pm - 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 8 am- 8 pm and Monday 8 am - 2 pm. Own string cost is $18.00. Tournament string will vary in price if using the Court One string.

PLEASE NOTE: Video tapping is NOT allowed at this tournament by anyone other than TENNIS ANALYTICS.
The USTA/Midwest Section has approved this company to videotape at the MSU outdoor tennis court site for Boy's 16, Boy's 12 and Boy's 18 also Okemos Hogh School Girl's 12 and Girls 16. If you do not want to be videotaped you must let the representative know and he will delete the footage.

Doubles matches will be videotaped only upon request.
