Congratulations to the 2 girls selected from our Midwest Open tournament for the Sportsmanship Awards.
They are Alexis Covington from Ohio Valley and Caroline Sproule from Ohio Valley.

*** If you are an 830am match please come early if possible to start sooner. We know some of you had doubles matches last night
but forecast does show rain later this morning possibly all day and we only have 3 courts indoors to use.The original time was 800am.
The sooner we can start these matches on all available courts the better for everyone. Thanks

All players that are still playing singles matches in tournament please check this website Monday morning.
Because of a few late Sunday Doubles matches some of the starting times may be adjusted. And if forecast of rain is an issue
we will either delay or move matches indoors to Tipton Lakes Athletic Club starting at 800am. Weather will be our concern through day.
We will try to have an updated schedule plan of singles matches Monday between 700-715am.

Please be aware of the finalized changes in tournament scoring and procedures due to Heat Advisory. You will get a more complete letter of all this at Saturday morning check in starting at 645am at North High School. Main Draw Singles... 2 out of 3 sets with match tiebreaker in lieu of 3rd set and using regular scoring. Consolation Singles... 2 out of 3 sets with match tiebreaker in lieu of 3rd set and using NO ADD scoring. ** All singles matches will have a 5 minute mandatory break after the 1st set is completed. Doubles... 6 game set with tiebreaker and using regular scoring.
PLEASE COME PREPARED for your matches knowing you will have multiple matches, it will be hot, and have plenty of water, ice, towels, misc with you as needed.

Please look over the revised updated "Future Match Schedule". Disregard the one sent out on Wednesday. Be sure to look at the new schedule that was sent out on Thursday, July 18 at approx. 5:30pm. There have been changes for several players with first match times, locations, second round possibilities and draw positions. Thank you...

Urgent Notice... Due to the weather forecast this coming weekend with temperatures close to 90-100 degrees there is a HEAT ADVISORY in our area. Therefore the tournament committee has chosen to implement a change in the Singles Main Draw starting with round #1. The match scoring format will be 2 out of 3 sets with the third set if needed played as a MATCH TIE BREAKER (10 Points). This will be the same for the back draw consolation. Please drink plenty of water, other fluids, have ice containers, and towels for cover while your playing and through out the day.We will have ice available at sites. Also.... DOUBLES format has been changed to just ONLY PLAYING a regular 6 Game set with tie breaker at 6 all.

SATURDAY... Player registration will ONLY be at the MAIN SITE / Columbus North High School. Please check in at least 30-60 minutes prior to your first match. You will receive your PLAYER MATCH CARD, t-shirt, player packet, sponsor coupons, and general information. Registration will start by 7:00am Saturday. Please do this BEFORE YOUR FIRST MATCH.

DOUBLES ENTRIES CLOSE WEDNESDAY, July 17th at 6:00 pm (EST). Please try to have BOTH players register online before the sign up deadline. If you did not sign up with a partner online and before the entry deadline has passed then PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR NAME AND DOUBLES PARTNER NAME (kchammel@gmail.com) to register. I will need a confirmation email from your partner also. If you are looking for a doubles partner please email me with that request and we will add your name to the looking for a partner list before the deadline has passed.
DOUBLES will be a 32 team SE draw. Play will be an 8 Game Proset. There is no Doubles playoff for 3rd/4th place.

This tournament will use a combination of USTA/Midwest Points Per Round and Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for player selection and seeding. Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order:
1 - 44 Players based on the most recent USTA/Midwest Standings List in the age division of the tournament
2 - 20 Players based on UTR
Players will be seeded for the tournament in the following order:
All 16 seeds are done using UTR.

Feed-in consolation draw (through the round of 16). All main draw matches are best two out of three sets. Consolation matches are best of three tie-break sets with a 10-point tie-breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. 64 FIC-R16

We will be using 3-4 court locations for this tournament. They are as follows... MAIN SITE is COLUMBUS NORTH HIGH SCHOOL (CN) @ 1400 25th Street 47201.. #8 courts.
DONNER PARK (DP) @ 22nd & Lafayette 47201.. #4 courts.
COLUMBUS EAST HIGH SCHOOL (CE) @ 230 S Marr Road & Indiana Ave 47201.. #4 courts.
HAMILTON LINCOLN PARK (LP) @ 2501 Lincoln Park Drive 47201.. #4 courts.
Tipton Lakes Athletic Club 4000 gelled Blvd. 47201.. #4 courts INDOORS ONLY IF RAIN.
All playing sites are approx. 10 minutes or less apart and located close to downtown area.


WARMUP COURTS... Practice courts will be available at Hamilton Lincoln Park (4) through the tournament. Also you can use Harrison Ridge Park @ Tipton Lakes BLVD / Coles Dr. 47201 , Brown County High School @ 235 South School House Lane, Nashville 47488 , and any site we do not use during scheduled match play. The INDOOR courts at Tipton Lakes Athletic Club are available for a $15.00 per hour fee. From Interstate 65, turn on 46 West at the Columbus Exit and go to the first stoplight. TLAC club is located on the left corner. We are about 1 hour North of Louisville, KY and 45 minutes South of Indianapolis 465.

First round report time information will be available by 6:00 pm on the Wednesday before the tournament begins. Come back to this page and click on the blue "Future Match Info Report" to find out your first match time as well as your Win/Loss time. Please be careful when reading this. The W/L times are in parentheses. Please check this again closer to match day in case there is any changes in the draw and times.

SATURDAY - 2 rounds of main draw and 1 round of consolation singles. SUNDAY - 2 rounds of main draw and 3 rounds of consolation singles. MONDAY - 2 rounds main draws and 2 rounds consolation singles.

The complete draws will be posted on the Friday before the event begins by 6:00 pm. There are NO REFUNDS after the player selection process is complete. Player Selection and numbered Alternates List will be posted the Saturday by 12:00 noon after the Thursday tournament deadline.

If you do not provide an email address and/or cell number(s) when you register for this tournament, then we will not be able to notify you about any possible changes in the tournament.
