-NEW FOR 2019: Seeding will be determined by using a

the time draws are made on May 16. The top half of the seeds will
first be determined by USTA/Midwest PPR; the bottom half will be
determined by UTR. Information on UTR can be found here:
-Endorsements for the Midwest Closed will be done according
to USTA/Midwest policies (i.e. Eligibility, Appeals, Midwest
Alternates, Play & Complete requirements, Wildcards) which can
be found here:
Play and Complete is defined as playing all points,
including the final point, of the match; A retirement, walkover or
default in the player's final match of the District Qualifier
(including any feed-in consolation (FIC) matches) will cause the
player to no longer be eligible to be endorsed to the Midwest
Closed; There shall be no appeal of the Play and Complete
-QUOTA Spots: Per Midwest policies, the 8 NEO quota spots
per 12s-18s age division will be awarded to the Qualifier Winner,
Finalist, 3rd Place, 4th Place, and the four FIC Semifinalists; the
3 NEO quota spots per 10s age division will be awarded to the
Qualifier Winner, Qualifier Finalist and FIC Winner. Finishers
cannot be endorsed unless they meet the Midwest play and complete
-Wildcard: The NEOTA will use 1 wildcard per BG12s-18s
divisions ONLY IF a player who earns a defined quota spot
(as defined and referenced above) declines (in writing) to
participate in the MW Closed prior to the endorsement list
deadline. Only in this example will the NEOTA wildcard be offered
to 1 player (per division) who made it to the Quarterfinal round of
the Consolation draw. The Wildcard will first be offered to the
Consolation Quarterfinalist who has the highest MW standing as of
the completion of the tournament. If that player declines, the
Consolation Quarterfinalist with the next highest MW standing will
be offered the Wildcard, and so on until all Consolation
Quarterfinalists have been asked. If no Consolation Quarterfinalist
accepts, the spot will be returned to the MW alternate pool. All
deadlines related to endorsements also apply to Wildcards.
-Players Responsibilities related to endorsements: Players
must register for the Midwest Closed within 24 hours of the
completion of the Qualifier in order to be eligible for
endorsement. If an Endorsed Player or Alternate becomes unable to
participate in the Midwest Closed, they must immediately inform the
Tournament Director at firstname.lastname@example.org
-Information and Registration for the Level 1 Midwest Closed can
be found here:
-DRESS CODE: No reference to drugs, violence, alcohol, or
foul language may appear on player attire and non-marking shoes
must be worn. Players who do not comply will be asked to change
clothes. This will be at the discretion of the tournament
staff/officials. If you are wondering if something will be
permitted, please consult with the Tournament Director or Referee
in advance. If the host facility has a specific dress code, players
will have to abide by it as well.
-ADDITIONAL DRESS GUIDELINES: Players are asked to wear
proper, modest tennis attire during their matches. What tennis
professionals wear during tournament play is a good guide to
follow. Please notice that what the pros wear during their
tournament matches is typically nicer and more modest than what
they wear during their practice sessions.
