ELIGIBILITY RULES 2017 LEVEL 5 EVENTS
For ages 12-18 players who are ranked in the top 50 will not be
allowed to participate in Open Level 5 events. These events are
meant for players moving up from Level 6 but not quite ready for
higher level events. (Players can play up in the next higher
division if ranked in the top 50 of their age group). This does not
apply to 10 & under divisions.
MATCH FORMAT
All singles matches will be a "best of two sets." A 10 point tie
breaker will be played in lieu of a third set.
All doubles matches will be an 8 game pro set, Tie break at
7-7
10 & UNDER DIVISIONS
All 10 & under matches will be played with the "green" ball (or
green dot ball) on a standard sized 78' court. There is no racquet
restriction with this ball.
BALLS
This tournament will use the Penn Championship ball.

DRESS CODE
The Seal Beach Tennis Center and all officials of this event would
like to inform the players of our expectations of proper attire
while competing in this tournament.
GIRLS: No sports bras or compression shorts are to be worn alone;
midriff must be covered when arms are at rest, and spandex shorts
must be covered by additional shorts or skirt.
BOYS: No cut off t-shirts or cut off shorts. Sleeveless tennis
shirts may be worn. No reference to drugs, violence, alcohol, or
foul language may be depicted on player attire.
SEEDING METHOD
For this event we will use the UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) we
will also use the SCTA rankings if needed for 10 & under
events.
LATE ENTRIES
We will take late entries ($5 late fee) until Wednesday 12 noon.

NOTES
For Southern California ranking, this is a Level 5 event. If you
have a time conflict, you must let the director know before the
draws are made. Refunds only given to players who withdraw at least
seven days prior to the tournament start date. Probable sites
include the Seal Beach Tennis Center & Lakewood Tennis Center.
NOTE: 10 year old divisions will play a "Match Tie Break" in lieu
of a third set. (first to 10 by 2). The 10 year olds will also use
the "green dot" ball.
Player Selection TypeNo Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, November 26, 2019 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
