Weather Update 7:45am 7/21/19 Rain Delay
Good morning, We will NOT be moving indoors. Due to the rain delay this morning, play will now resume at the Plaza Tennis Center at 10:30am. That means that now your match will not start until 2.5 hours after the originally scheduled time. For example, if you had an 8am match today, it will start at 10:30am at the Plaza Tennis Center. If you have a 9am originally scheduled match it will now start at 11:30am at the Plaza Tennis Center. To recap: 1. Your match is delayed 2.5 hrs. after the originally scheduled time. 2. Your match will still be held at the Plaza Tennis Center. We will NOT be moving indoors.

Thank you for joining the Plaza Tennis Center for our HOA Dirstrict Open Championship. The draws have been posted and can be found on the USTA website. The draws were briefly posted earlier today but had to be changed and re-posted, so please look at them again for any changes. Check the tournament page and your email regularly for updates and information. Play begins at 8am Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Plaza Tennis Center will be open at 7am for warm up. There is no extra cost for warm up and the courts are first come, first serve. Not all players have matches at 8am and off-site courts for warm up are available at Loose Park, MLK and Gillham park. These are also first come, first serve. Please check in for your match 30 minutes before the scheduled time. The weather will be very hot so please be prepared. Ice and water will be available at no extra cost throughout the tournament. Spectators, bring umbrellas because shade is limited. 2019 District Championship Rules
1) Entries close on Sunday night at 11:59 PM 2) Doubles must be entered with a partner OR you have until 5:00 on Monday to email the Tournament Director with a partner (the partner must also email the TD) or request to be placed in the blind draw. NO doubles entries will be accepted after 5:00 PM on the Monday of the tournament week. 3) Player must be the same age division in Singles and Doubles. The only exception is when the same age division does not fill, then the TD will email the players asking if they want to play up a division for doubles. 4) NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Singles must be entered online, by the entry deadline. 5) Seeding - will be done off of the most recent USTA MV Standings List.

PLAYING TO COMPLETION Regulation 27: Playing to Completion. To play to completion means to play all the player's matches in a tournament including main draw, mandatory FIC, mandatory consolation and mandatory place play-offs. A player will not be awarded any points for the tournament and will be charged with 5 suspension points if the player does not play to completion for any reason other than: -Retirement from a match because of injury, illness or personal circumstance -Inability to play because of injury, illness or personal circumstance when the player's problem become apparent before the match or during the warm-up.
Failure to complete a match because of a conflict or not to miss school is not considered a valid personal circumstance. Instead, players should not register for a tournament unless able to play entire event.
"No Shows" will also be charged with 5 Suspension Points.

Communication Center - Opt In This tool enables Tournament Directors to send email and text communication to event participants. Additional subscribers (family members, spectators) can be added to receive communication for a specific event. Players have to "opt in" (subscribe) in order to receive messages/emails from the TD for each individual tournament they participate in, Players can subscribe during registration in the Event Communications area of the registration page and also on "My Tennis Page" after event registration. Communication is limited to 30 days after the close of the event and to only the players who have opted in. Don't miss out...opt in today.
