DOUBLES PROCEDURE/ALL EXPECTED TO PLAY DOUBLES!!
The Doubles in this tournament not only earn Midwest Level 3
points, but also earn National Level 4 points. FYI- because National rankings
use a combined ranking, 15% of doubles points are added to your National
Singles Ranking. Remember: 70% of you will play doubles in High School and
College Coaches always look for players that can compete not only in singles
but doubles too since most close Collegiate matches end in 4-3, resulting in
the teams who won the doubles point winning the match. We EXPECT and STRONGLY suggest
that all players compete in doubles and sign up as a team online with each
others USTA number. We have shortened the scoring to Pro Sets and we plan to
start the day with doubles to prevent long days as well as the doubles match
also serving as your warm-up to singles. Even if you do not have a partner,
register for doubles when you are registering for singles as this ensures your
name will appear and not have to be manually entered later. There are two
options available to you if you cannot find a partner on your own.
Option #1- We can help you find a partner but Privacy Laws and USTA
rules prohibit us from giving out your contact information to other players.
You will need to give us permission via email to angelawilson@westerntfc.com and permit us to
give out your contact information.
Option #2-You can ask to be paired at random with another player by
emailing angelawilson@westerntfc.com. NOTE:
This is not a guarantee because if there are an odd number of players wanting
to be paired, one player will not have a partner.
WE RECOMMEND AND PREFER THAT YOU FIND YOUR OWN DOUBLES PARTNER OR TAKE
ADVANTAGE OF OPTION #1
Thanks for all you do!
Happy Holidays!
