Idle Hour Eastern States Junior Classic (DR-L7)

SETTING AND AVAILABILITY: This tournament is held at the Idle Hour tennis club in Drexel Hill on OUTDOOR hard courts Play will be on 4 hard courts behind the 14 Har-Tru courts. Some Har-Tru courts may be used after 2pm. Because this is an outdoor tournament, weekend weather and available daylight can affect match times.

It is your responsibility to be available Saturday and Sunday in order to register for the tournament. I am planning to hold matches Saturday 6/8 (and if needed Sunday 6/9) but scheduled days and start times can change due to weather. If you would like to play in the tournament but have a potential conflict please contact me to discuss if an accommodation can be made.

PLAYER SELECTION AND SEEDING: Player selection and seeding is done by the Middle States Office at the close of registration.

DR-L7 FORMAT: The match format for singles is 2 out of 3 short sets. Each set will start with the score at 2 games all, no-ad scoring, and a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.

I will do my best to have all players get a minimum of three matches (draw size and players not wishing to stay for subsequent back draw matches will have an affect on this). The draw type for all DR-L7 tournaments is a Compass draw or a Round Robin if there are only 3 players signed up.

LOCATION: Idle Hour Tennis Club is located behind the Speedway gas station. YOU WILL NOT SEE THE COURTS FROM TOWNSHIP LINE RD. If you cannot find the club call my cell 610-405-8084..

When you drive in to the club, go left before the clubhouse and then follow the driveway around to the right along side the tennis courts that takes you to a back parking lot. There is limited parking in the back parking lot so you may need to find parking by the clubhouse as you come in and then walk to the back parking lot which is where the courts for the tournament are located.

CHECK IN: All players should check in at least 15 minutes prior to the match start time (a half an hour before the match start time is even better).

SPORTSMANSHIP: Players will be expected to conduct themselves within the rules of play. I will enforce sportsmanship and proper tennis code.

DRESS CODE: Proper tennis attire (shorts that can hold tennis balls, tshirt, tennis shoes).

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.

Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Friday, May 31, 2019 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
