Thank you to all players and parents for their patience this weekend with the weather on Friday and Saturday morning. We hope everyone enjoyed the 2020 Bojangles Winter Classic. ARRIVE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO MATCH TIME. WE HAVE OPEN COURTS.

Play has started and we are catching up in time. Please assume one hour from your initial start time!

PLAY WILL START AT 11 AM. Please add 3 hours to your initial match time.

We are on a 90 minute wet court delay. 8 pm matches are now scheduled for 930. 9 am matches have a 1030 start time.ALL MATCHES ARE NO AD SCORING

The courts are currently wet but we have been working on getting the bulk of the water off the courts so when the sun rises they will dry quickly. Please plan on checking in at your regular scheduled time this morning. Matches will immediately go on once courts are playable.

DOUBLES TIMES ARE UPDATED. SOME TIMES MAY INTERFERE WITH SINGLES,. SINGLES COMES FIRST, BUT WE WILL WORK IT ALL OUT.

NEW DOUBLES TIMES WILL BE POSTED BY 7 PM FRIDAY NIGHT. WE WILL PLAY DOUBLES STARTING AT 8 AM. BE HERE AND CHECKED IN NO LATER THAN 7:45 AM SATURDAY. WE WILL ONLY GET TO PLAY ONE ROUND OF DOUBLES IN THE MORNING. WILL WORK THE REST IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SINGLES WILL BE AS SCHEDULED.

Warm up courts will be open at 4 pm today. Tomorrow warm up courts will be open 1 hour prior to first match of the day at Midway Park and MBTC. Throughout the weekend there will be two warm up courts at Midway park that will be open. Please allow 20-30 mins max for warm up if there are others waiting to get on. Thank you!

Please check website for ALL changes. In case of rain tomorrow, doubles will start at 8 am on Saturday. Again please check website routinely for all necessary changes to start times.

All matches will be played on hard courts, 8 lit and 2 not lit. The facility has seating but is limited. Please bring chairs AND BLANKETS. We will have heaters on deck to warm up spectators when the sun goes down.


Myrtle Beach Tennis Center is located at 3302 Robert M Grissom Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC, 29577. The courts are located behind the Myrtle Beach High School. DO NOT enter the main entrance to the high school. Enter through the bus entrance which is located next to the electronic MBHS sign. You will see underneath sign...Myrtle Beach Tennis Center. Midway Park, alternate MW, will be used also. The address is: 19 Tea Rose St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

All participants must check in at Myrtle Beach Tennis Center at least 45 minutes prior to their first match. Check in at least 30 minutes prior to all other matches. Better to have players waiting a bit than to have empty courts!

Doubles play for ALL age groups will start on Friday at 5 pm. If there are any potential conflicts please contact Brad Anderson (anderson14651@hotmail.com) and we will do our best accommodate. We anticipate Orange Ball, and possibly Green, to run on Saturday only. This will be determined by the number of entries in each respective division.

WARM UP ON TOURNAMENT COURTS WILL BE ALLOWED FROM 8-8:30 AM ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. AFTER 8:30 ALL WARM UPS BY PLAYERS CANNOT BE ON TOURNAMENT COURTS. ASK AT CHECK IN DESK FOR DIRECTIONS TO ADDITIONAL SITES.

BG 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s main draw matches and consolation matches will be a 10 point tie-breaker in lieu of the 3rd set. Main draw matches will be regular scoring and the consolation draw will be no add scoring. Boys and Girls 10s (ORANGE BALL) will be played based on the 10-under format with no add scoring. 10U will play two short sets of 4 games each (win by two games), with a 7 point tie break at 4 games all. If both players win a set they will play a 7 point tie break to decide the match. All doubles will be a 6 game pro set with a 7 point tie break at 6 games each.

All age divisions will be using Wilson tennis balls.

Coffee will be provided in the morning along with lunch being provided by our very generous sponsor BOJANGLES Saturday and Sunday mid-day.

Awards will be given to the Champion and Finalist of all front draw age divisions. With draws consisting of more than 7 participants the Champion of the consolation round will receive an award. All 8U participants will receive a medal.

Boy's and Girl's 10's ORANGE BALL divisions will be played on a 60' court using a low compression orange ball. Racquet size is limited to 25" or smaller. Draw format will be determined by the number of participants. Scoring format as follows: 2 out of 3 short sets using NO ADD scoring, first to 4 games (win by 2). A 7 point tiebreak is played if players reach 4 all. If players split sets then a 7 point tiebreak is played for the 3rd set (win by 2). THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2nd AND 3rd SET BREAK IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS. Doubles will be a 6 game NO AD pro set.

Please be aware that this tournament has two 10 & Under Youth Tennis Progression divisions. ORANGE BALL DIVISION AND GREEN BALL DIVISION. This means that in order to play in a 10 & Under division, you must be eligible for the corresponding level. If you are not able to register for a 10 & Under singles event, that means you are not eligible for that level. 10 & Under Youth Progression Eligibility
Please be aware this tournament has two 10 & Under Youth Progression divisions. ORANGE BALL DIVISION AND GREEN BALL DIVISION. This means that in order to play in a 10 & Under division, you must be eligible for that corresponding level. BRING YOUR MEDICAL FORM TO CHECK-IN
Please check-in for the tournament 30 min. early. Tournament check-in will be available beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. Please check into your site of play. If you are not scheduled to play Friday, the check-in is not mandatory, only check in at least 30 min. prior to your first match.

Seeding Criteria
The most current USTA Southern Standing List will be used for seeding purposes.

Boys and Girls 10's Orange Ball Divsions
Boy's and Girl's ORANGE BALL divisions will be played on a 60' court using a low compression orange ball. Racquet size is limited to 25" or smaller. Draw format will be determined by the number of participants. Scoring format as follows: 2 out of 3 short sets using NO AD scoring, first to 4 games (win by 1). If players split sets then a 7 point tiebreak is played for the 3rd set (win by 2). THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2nd AND 3rd SET BREAK IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS. 2020 USTA Southern Youth Progression Update
Please note that starting January 2020 USTA Southern’s Youth Progression has changed from offering 2 levels of Orange ball to only one level of Orange ball - Orange Level 1. Players will now start at Orange Level 1 and progress to Green Level 1 then to Mission Complete/Yellow Ball. Youth Progression point distribution has also changed.
